get her hearing checked, blue eyed white cats and odd eyed whites can be deaf on the blue side. not all the time but it's useful to check for. she is going to be an incredible fluffball when she gets all her coat in, that's about 3 winters to get full coat. get a dogs stripper brush, you'll need it. also get her used to being brushed daily.

fabricated rescue. those designer 'munchkin' cats cost a fortune in asia. they are breed in total captivity and wouldn't be put out or abandoned. not buying this for a second

I know every environment is different, but it's significantly better to keep a cat in a larger space than in a small cage. If you have a spare room that works. The confining makes it much harder for a stray to feel safe and trust others

@@noellesherman4824 They do on their terms, but confining them without giving them the ability to explore their territory is stressful for them. Plus, they don't like to be forced to interact. If you have to cage them, it shouldn't be for more than a week or two
I foster kittens and have found petsmart makes a great pen for under $60. Lots of room to play with space for a bed, litter box, and bowls.

I put on a radio so my two semi-feral kitties would get used to the sounds of people talking. Not any louder than you would talk to a friend. Really helped. Also will help if you rub slowly. She will relax much faster that way. GreT job catching her and giving her a chance of a much better life.❤️
She looks like a long haired Van cat. They are special breed. I wonder what she was doing at streets. Maybe she ran away from a breeder.

I love how you meowed at her - too cute! I do that too when I meet stray cats. People think I'm crazy, but they're without a sense of humour. I adore playful adults especially when they save vulnerable strays. Who's luckier, you or the kitty? The moggie has beautifully different coloured eyes. Bless you both!

It is very normal to meow at cats. Some of us care about cats. A lot of people are taught to repress their feelings, sense of compassion to live in this world.
@@QUINTUSMAXIMUS I agree. I LOVE cats! I wonder how they interpret my meows. You can tell a lot about people (especially adults) who love openly and playfully! I dislike people who don't love animals unless they're afraid of them. It's so beautiful when vulnerable animals and loving (maybe lonely) individuals find each other. This world needs real joy that comes from unconditional love.

She is beautiful. Your commitment to taming her is wonderful. I tried to save a 4 wk old calico baby last Sunday. Took her to vet on Wednesday because I just couldn't get her to eat right, sadly, she died Thursday morning. You just never know what's going to happen but taking the chance to save a life is always worth it, me thinks. She looks scared on the stairs but can already tell that she has started to depend on you. Good move. She is so very gorgeous with her Bowie eyes. I am so happy for you and your Princess Puffy Pants kitty. I bet she is quite the diva, now.

But cats will take as long as need to feel comfortable.
The cat my daughter and I have now, he was rejected by the people who he lived with - and he'd ended up in a hoarding situation, including two big and neurotic loud dogs (not the dogs' fault they were neurotic...the hoarders made them that way).
So we said we'd take him.
It took a third of a year before we could even touch him.
He is a very nervous fellow, and gets easily over stimulated by touch. So we cannot hold him, cuddle him, or snuggle with him. But he loves us. A lot. And to show this, he NEEDS to be able to do a nose rub about 30 times an hour.
A good hard, long, damp nose rub.
If too many minutes have gone by, or we're standing up with our noses out of his reach, he gets frantic and meows like he's the loneliest cat that ever has been. We have to bend right down, and he rushes over and rubs and rubs and rubs his nose on ours, purring so hard it sometimes knocks him off his own paws.
You never know what you'll get with a cat. But you DO know that if you care for them, treat them properly and love them, they will love you back, in the way that they are able.

I have had my feral cat for about 6 months everything sets her off. No matter what I do or try hides under the bed. Frankly I don't know what to do . I actually lay awake at night crying because I want her to well be "normal". sigh
If she is truly feral (no human contact) prior to you getting her it could take a few months to a few years. I had a pair of sisters that were 4 months before they were able to be trapped. They hid for at least 6 months and then were skittish for years. One became more domesticated than her sister. I had them both for about 15 years. With each passing year, they both increasingly became more domesticated. She may never be like a normal cat and that's okay. (Unless she is truly climbing the walls like a wild animal; then she may be better off as a stray) Try getting one of those long extension back scratchers to see if you can pet her with that instead of your hand. Don't push her too much though. She will come to you when ready.

Yes, but we are not seeing all of the interactions here. A cat this feral can be very uncertain with a new human contact like this and do a great deal of damage to your hands...they can seem like little lions until you learn their body language. I've seen much more aggressive ferals, but this one is about as aggressive as most of us cat tamers would want to see for the purpose of befriending.
Also how would she know how to use the bathroom. Did these people put her out before they “found” her??

I had one appear at my barn one day...from where, I have no clue. I put food out for my own barn kitties/companions so, I guess that drew him in. After several months, of coming and going, he decided to settle in and call it home.
It was 2 years before he gained enough trust to finally let me touch and pet him. To this day, I am the only one he trusts to come near and/or touch him. But, he's a good boy and a much appreciated additional 'mouser' at the barn. 😊

When you get a feral kitten tamed enough that they accept you, they can make the best cats. It took a couple of months for my adoptee to trust enough to get up on the bed with us, but I was patient with her and let her set the pace. Now I couldn't ask for a sweeter little cuddle buddy.
I’ve had 2 feral kittens, they did the work, they had to learn to trust ! She is a beauty .. cutie !
The hissing is when something she experiences triggers her fear. Need to take it slow.
