Jackson was an olympic level athlete before becoming an entertainer. He grew up with athlete parents. So his mindset is always to achieve his goals no matter what. The not good side of it is that he tends to put the goal above his well-being. It has less something to do with the “temptations”. Of course any human being would feel down once in a while whenever we encounter setbacks. He is human after all.
It happens to most if not all entertainers to some extent so it is not just Jackson only.

Here is a small correction, it's not that he missed being in Korean varieties because of his solo work, but his contract to JYP when he started Team Wang was that he could not promote in Korea while he was promoting as a solo in China. So, all of his solo work in China none of it was promoted in Korea. It wasn't just because he was solo. It was because JYP prohibited it it

It could possibly be the other way around.....that when Team Wang promoted in China, China would not allow him to promote in Korea and Japan. Remember he had to stop promoting on the Japanese releases once he started solo in China?

What I knew was that if u aren't tied to a company in Korea, then u barely have a chance to promote urself in music shows. Bambam was lucky enough to have a company reach out to him, hence why he was able to have his own talk and drink show.. When it comes to Korea's pride, there are still alot of Koreans who aren't keen towards a foreigner's success in Korea...
This is something many do not discuss as much as a artist. They should get constant therapy.
I think a lot of artists do have therapists who help them out with day to day problems 😊

JYPE had therapists for all its artists. He could have gone to them if he had wanted and can afford a therapist now for sure.

For those who really follow Jackson and read his recent interviews, you should known that he is NOT unhappy. He has mentioned many times that he is doing what he loves and passionate right now. Creating content, music and designs that truly reflects him. Please stop expecting a man who is nearing 30 year old to continue to behave like somone in their late teens or early 20s....

Honestly, you don’t know that for sure as people show different sides of themselves to the public versus when they are in private. With depressed people, it is harder to tell as they can appear all happy but are miserable on the inside.

Yeah, he said he was healing around 7 months ago. That's the latest update I have about him. Healing is still not a goal state. It's still not a healthy state. That's why I'll pray for him.

You changing the way you behave in front of the camera/audience vs you with your personal people doesn't equate you as being a different person, it's merely just a persona and how you brought yourself within community of different interests. I truly hope he realizes that soon.

When someone opens up abt their vulnerability & struggles, it is not for others to evaluate them or pass remarks. As humans, we have all felt lonely, lost or depressed at some points in our lives (if we’re truly honest w ourselves). Jackson just happened to be in a career where all the limelight is on him. Videos like this can appear to “wish him well” but the manner in which it is presented can be making a mountain out of molehill & magnifying something that is already being addressed. Let’s not forget, Jackson comes from a very loving & supportive family and has childhood friendships still going strong today. Love is definitely present in his life and love never fails.
Jackson is rising ✨ and I’d even say he’s probably much healthier mentally than many of us - bcuz he has no fear of being vulnerable, being his true self; he dared to risk it all when he opened up & expose his raw self to the world. Not hiding anything. How many have the courage to do that, to be so honest and true. Jackson is a shining example and walking testimony of an overcomer.
I feel like it's not 100% but it has gotten better now that he seems to be staying with his parents. I think this video is mainly outlining the timeline and not magnifying, as it mentions both sides of the arguments. I believe it's aimed towards I think newer fans or those who noticed the difference but were not as active.
Yes, there is so much love for him even before he started his solo career - his family, his members, his team, his fans...remember, GOT7 since 2014. When he's around other people, he's fine. Since he did have his own place and live alone, it was during those times sometimes when he felt lonely, despite having so much love around him. He does show it, but he still has those moments - you could tell from his Twitter posts. The best we can do is continue to love him, support him, and encourage him like he encourages us.

Jackson said hes doing fine. His Magicman album is the breakthrough where he can share that hes not okay BEFORE to everyone. It took courage to admit that you are not okay. Now hes doing FINE and happy. Yall need to keep up with him.

I know that Jackson has been expressing for a few years now how he's lonely and just doesn't feel like himself anymore. I really think he needs to take a step back from the industry, even if it's for a year and get the mental help that that he needs. It just feels like he's using music/alcohol as a way to isolate himself and it's really sad to see. I hope he gets the help that he needs and is able to reconnect with his friends.
He reminds me of a man who is looking for something and keeps thinking he's found it, only to be disappointed again and again.
I think therapy would help, if that was the case. He's a cool dude. He deserves to feel fulfilled, as do we all.

I think he should definitely be talking to a professional, but more than anything, befriending people who are his equal or don’t see him as Jackson Wang the Magic Man, just Jackson. Unfortunately, his loneliness is the same dilemma hundreds of celebrities face. Being known by so many people, being constantly watched, we weren’t designed for that… those of us just living plain Jane lives won’t understand how much fame affects a person’s psyche, but there have been studies on it. Add onto that all the touring and it makes it even harder to connect with people as you’re always tired and in different time zones from loved ones. And we know he really loves Team Wang, but Jackson’s also admitted so much stress comes from it because those people are relying on him to do well so they can support their families. At least as a K-pop group, he had other people to share that burden and the side effects of fame with. But as a solo act…
So I think while therapy is definitely a great start, he ultimately needs to get to the root of the problem which is having an equal or 2 to rely on and a better work-life balance. But it’ll be hard since he overworks because he’s lonely, but doesn’t have time to find and build these connections because he overworks. 😕

It’s just the character of Magic Man, he already talk about it and Magic Man talks about how he feels after leave JYP and don’t know the future of GOT7, at the same time, he start to feel bad about his career and don’t see his family for a long time, so he start to lost his magic and with Magic Man try to express that, even the theme of the album is “found your magic”
Jackson Wang is a handsome,hard working,kind,and thoughtful man and I hope any problems he is facing he has the strength to get through it because he has people like that have his back forever

There was a period of low for him in the past and he was very open about it, which was what birthed Magicman. But he has since learnt to talk it out with people around him. He has a team who inspired him to live by the motto LOVE. TRUST. PRINCIPLE!

GOT7 was what got me back into k-pop. And Jackson and Bambam where my bias. I feel Jackson is a real honest and real person but the industry he is in does not help his personality. He has to deal with the damn racist Korean people, and his style is over the top yet stylish and original but the public favors generic stile that appeal to masses. I understand, I work in marketing and I hate it but unless you have enough power nothing else matters everything will always revolve around money.

Mental health is so important. I have no job and no financial burdens but due to my sick habit of severe dieting I almost jump down a building in May 2021. If not for my sister who called the mental hospital to bring me in I think I would be dead someday that period of time. Hopefully Jackson takes a break and get therapy to feel better
I agree but sadly in some severe cases even therapy will not help, which is why some people sadly end up taking their own lives.

Jackson was my bias in GOT7, he is so sweet and he treats his fans preciously. I hope we can have Got7 again in the future.
I just hope he stop overthinking about want to show him as authentic as he can be because in the end of the day, who cares will care, who don't care will dont care. Label and tag will always be there like "Jackson Wang from China" because that is reality whether as an artist or only just some cashier in a grocery store. The more he want to show it, the more confuse it can lead. He need to take easy on himself and find any real friend for a real support that can be there for him. I saw the title and just rolled my eyes so hard. I thought this topic was done w/ in the kpop community, but apparently these ppl don’t know how to move on. I’m glad most of the comments are sympathetic and not mocking him like most kpop stans were doing at first, but they really need to watch his current full interviews and stop relying on gossip channels. Jackson has clearly stated that he was depressed in the past (like around 2020/2021) and is a lot happier and more fulfilled now. So why is this channel revisiting this topic? Slow news day, I guess.

It's not just the alcohol. I believe people truly don't understand what alcoholism is. Alcohol is a bandaid to the pain, guilt, or any negative emotions. It's not the alcohol entirely. He needs a comfort zone and us fans can't give that.
I agree and my late father was an alcoholic and passed as a result due to the liver disease he got from it. Alcoholism is a very bad condition and you need to seek treatment to get better. I hope he does not end up like my late dad.

@@sanclairekabore5058Thank you and sorry for your loss too. My late father never told anyone why but just became a very bad and abusive person so my whole family hated him. He said he would quit drinking but never would. Sadly he paid for it with his life, but it was his choice. My father passed over 20 years now so I have tried to heal and hope you do too. I will pray for you and your happiness and hope you will live a happy life!❤

He expressed several times how he got depressed when he left JYP and how lonely he feels when he gets home to the point he always leaves a light on so when he gets home it feels like someone is waiting for him. I think he is better now, but I don’t think he is that happy, he is overworked and lost a lot of weight. I think he needs some rest and be around family and friends

But i also think he's doing so much better now and this video just paints a poor dramatic image of him to the general audience who will continue to only see his struggles and not how he's overcoming it. That's also fine to an extent but then there's also a good portion of kpop stans who will make videos of his issues only for views but will never talk about the quality of his music or how much he has achieved so far.

I dont understand why so many people judging when everyone goes through it. Interview with Eric Nam was almost 1.5 years ago. Watch his interview with Kinjaz from 7 months ago. He talks about how he’s in a better space and he looks/sounds a lot better too. And people talk about his problem with alcohol because he was promoting Hennessy on stage which he’s a brand ambassador of. You have no idea how much your other favourite musicians are drinking in private/ doing drugs. In Kinjaz episode he talks about how his image changed, but it’s his true art that he expresses. If you wish the best for the artist, just support them.

He was very open about his struggles, which was the reason for the birth of Magic Man. He was in the process of healing, as he stated when he had the interview with Eric more than a year ago, learning about himself, and evolving. I know of many individuals working in high stress environment and looking for an outlet (both healthy and unhealthy) is not unusual. The fact that Jackson has admitted to it and his awareness of the problems and making it an open statement to gain awareness is what I consider commendable. He’s supporting and not villainizing mental health issues. So why are ppl turning this into a Jackson issue? Also, he is a celeb and gets noticed for everything. The times we see him partying is probably as much as the next person or less. Consuming alcohol while having fun is likely expected. He probably spends more time traveling, preparing for shows or cooking music and no one counts how many days he’s not out in the public eye.

True the alcohol and the fake smiles, is kinda hard to see . As someone as talented as him hope he can take time for him to relax and chill and be healthy. Many people love alcohol. I am one of them, but even I know my limits. I'm sure he knows his limits. Also we don't have confirmation that there was alcohol in the bottle. I saw him when he came to NY. Performing especially touring is really hard and I wonder if people know just how exhausting it is. I did one tour in my late 20's and not only was it physically exhausting but mentally as well. And that was for a kids show. I can't even imagine when it's your own show with so many people depending on you. All I wish for Jackson is that he finds his moments of peace and surrounds himself with good people who care about the person not the product. I still want to meet him just to give him a hug to give him a few seconds of calm.

To be honest, he's physical aspect has also changed a lot, he looks so tired, he's outside shows how bad he might be feeling mentally, which also explains his feeling about loneliness (possibly depression) and his alcohol consume. This video is inflamatory, and it's obvious given the fact that this was posted months after Jackson's fans started worrying. I also think that people easily jump to conclusions after he opens up about himself, which is sad. It's sad because he seems to want to be a "real" person, too, not just a singer/performer. This is what K-pop fans want their idols to be, and when they do just that, fans make it out to be a problem, or they worry too much. There are boundaries fans and content farms should uphold, too.
Remember that he said he had to stop doing varieties because some people would tend to see him more as a comedian and to him, that hurt his main job, as a singer/rapper. I can only deduce that his image change is because of that. Plus the fact that he is the founder of Team Wang and the co-founder of Ryce, and he also manages these companies…image change was more for business reason, not for anything else.

if anyone knows anything about alcoholism, it’s that people who can drink a lot and not get drunk are more at risk than lightweight drinkers. it’s because they have to drink so much to have it affect them, and so before you know it it becomes a problem. i’m really worried for jackson. i’m not an ahgase persay but loved watching him on variety shows when i was younger. hope he can find the right professional to guide him and treat his addiction.
