Leaving better is choice obviously. The company only wanted some of them but GOT7 wanted to continue as a group so they left and now they'll be even more successful

Shinhwa, a 23 year-old legendary 1st generation group with the same 6 members since 1998. They left SM in 2003, signed with another agency, fought a legal battle with SM to keep their name, which they won. After leaving the new agency, they created their own company, called Shinhwa Company, to manage the groups' activities. The leader of the group, Eric, is the CEO, another member, Minwoo, is co-CEO and all 6 members are shareholders. I don't know if GOT7 will reach this level, but they seem pretty tight and have each others back. If nothing else, they will at least support one another in their individual activities.

Because ahgases stanned them, first and foremost, for their music. As a fan, I really love all the b-sides bc it really shows their true colors! Their latest comebacks are def. no-skips. And with a shitty company such as JYP, it's frustrating to know how many potential quality music has been locked just bc they feel like it's not the group's flavor.
Honestly I don't think JYPe is the worst one out there I think the problem with the company is that is way to much selective, like it only pay attention to what it wants in this case only girl groups and neglects groups like Got7, SKZ and Day6
Their potential will never be a question. GOT7 is the FIRST kpop group to get #1 in the Billboard World Charts on their DEBUT album and first kpop group to enter the Artist 100. Their potential has always been there, but because of JYPE's bad business decisions, they had to be their cashcows instead of being promoted when it was most crucial. The fact that they were able to get this big in an industry this vicious is nothing short of a miracle already. Leaving JYPE promoted them more than all 7 years of being in JYPE and ahgases are ECSTATIC about it. Our boys are free, successful and solid, to survive 7 years of struggles against JYPE we grew stronger together. "GOT7FOREVER" is more than a hashtag, it's a fact.

Also I have always said this but the minute that slimeball JYP THINKS/KNOWS a boy group of his is getting more popular he has ALWAYS stopped promoting them so they can't be more popular then him. He is just uck. The boys LOVE promoting together they have said it on multiple occasions when they aren't together they miss each other so much and are always happy to promote together again. @@izz9854 ... Lol. JYPE essentially lost their Thai market. Thai Ahgases even just recently gotten 30+ GOT7 albums on the top charts. GOT7 along with Twice also contributed to the most JYPE album sales and their concerts filled entire venues. JYPE will definitely feel the loss of GOT7.

True , most of promo were from fans . There's a time when they had overseas concerts tour or something , the company didn't promote them so fans decided to make like brochure something with qr code to get to know them more......
Their departure from jype will be the most iconic departure in kpop history. Ahgases were happy, celebrating, got7 were also happy. There will never be a group like got7 and that's a fact.

Watching this almost 7 months after they left, and it's insane how much GOT7 has been able to do as solo artists since leaving JYPE. I think their success as soloists shows how much their old company truly held them back.
I think this needs another update. GOT7 is breaking the mold left and right. Jay B signed with Jay Park’s other label H1GHR MUSIC, two albums from BamBam and Yugyeom, Youngjae’s musicals, Jinyoung getting acting offers left and right, Jackson got Amber Liu to join his label, Mark signed with CAA
investors even called got7 the “flagship boy group of jyp”. they’re such an essential piece to jype yet they didn’t give them proper promotions as a group or let them have creative freedom. got7 is a group with 7 all rounders and it’s not common to see that in the kpop industry. for a long time ahgases have been telling the company what they’re doing wrong and they never listened to us. they lost one of the best groups in the industry. now got7 is free and i hope people continue to follow them as they start pursuing their solo projects and move forward as a group.
Totally agree with you and most ahgases here in the comments but I just wanted to point out that got7 are kind of the only group that could even be considered as the "flagship bg of jype" and I really hope people would stop using it as the ultimate statement in this whole discussion. Day6 are a k-rock group, 2pm have been on their military hiatus for a couple of years now and Stray Kids are only a 2 year old group, of course Got7 would be their "flagship boygroup". By all means, Got7 really did not get the promotion they deserved, which is why it is even more surprising that they are up there with one of the largest intl fandoms. I hope they'll manage to get together again in the future ^-^

Got7 had so much potential. They had so many different nationalities and languages. They had 3 members that speak English, 2 members that speak a Chinese language, Thai, and Jinyoung could speak a little Japanese. This was a major missed opportunity.

randomly found this video again lol. today is got7 tenth anniversary !!! it's been a decade now, and even the members said themselves they want to continue for a long time. they had a comeback on may last year. currently jj project are serving in the military so their next comeback will not be until 2025. then the maknae line will enlist (probably) :') but still am proud of how far they come. this video was released when they first announced of not renewing, and now all of them have their own solo careers, releasing albums and doing tours. but they still didn't forget us so let's not forget about them too ! let's stay together for a long time got7 and ahgase 💚

I've been a kpop fan for about 10 years and tbh got7 is the best kpop group I ever stanned. they are extremely talented and on top of that, they're definitely the most humble and dedicated idols I've ever seen. there's no wonder everyone in the industry always has good things to say about got7.

Correct. I’m not a kpop fan, i don’t even understand people go crazy with BTS (sorry to BTS fan). But i came across Got7 and i was awed by their talent. They all have great voice quality, unlike other group kpop artist. I listened to each of them solo and they indeed have the NATURAL talent.

Watching this made me realize that GOT7 is genuinely one of the most humble kpop groups I have ever seen. The amount of things they were able to accomplish as a group and how they even after all that continued to stay goofy and down to earth is amazing. GOT7 is truly a group that can never be replicated not in talent and group chemistry. To think that they were being slept on and neglected by their group is truly astonishing. JYPE lost a gigantic piece of them and they truly never find another group as them.

Same here. Altough this last year I’ve lost track of them and just found out about them leaving jyp. Hope for the best for them. They are among the few artists which I listen always their entire albums without ever getting bored of them. They are true gold and so so talented, very fine actors and dancers too 💚🦋🌿

*Long comment incoming!!* I think the reason why most ahgases, including me, didnt feel sad when GOT7 left jype was because we'd had enough. And their most recent comeback was the tipping point. After releasing a full album for the first time in 2 years, after a 7 month long hiatus, what we got: -1 week of promotions (with 3 music show appearances) -No comeback showcase/premier -No MV teaser -Making typos in several teaser pictures -No promotion on GOT7's official IG feed -No promotions for the fully member produced album (all GOT7 members participated in producing the songs for the album) -No radio appearances, 2 TH-cam contents, Weekly idol and Idol on Quiz, that's it -Called it even with a 10 minutes video for a 5 days schedule, in which they didn't even have a filming staff and had to film with selfie cams -JYP were getting cursed at, so they let the members have a Vlive at 2AM in the morning -Albums went out of stock DURING THE PRE-ORDER PERIOD and were NOT RESTOCKED and these are just a few things that I can think off on the top of my head. So yes, while it might take longer for a GOT7 album, I feel at peace knowing that the members will finally be able to do what they like without the company stopping them. And it's not like the company was giving them a lot of promotions to start with, so there's barely gonna be a difference. Team Wang can make money without jyp getting a dime off of it. Jaebeom can release whatever songs he likes, rather than being told by the old hag (jyp) to scrap the songs that he didnt even listen to for more than 10 seconds. Mark and Bambam can start TH-cam channels now, unlike before when the company stopped them from doing so. Yugyeom, Youngjae and Jinyoung can do more solo schedules now and venture into new avenues (ie. acting, r&b hiphop) . Plus the boys have already told us that they're in it for the long ride and will continue to release albums as GOT7. AND they get to keep the rights for the name GOT7. So all in all I see it as an absolute win. Phew feels good to get all this off my chest

After being a big fan of all the big k-pop groups, I finally discovered and fell in love with GOT7 and just keep falling! They are so talented, the best at variety shows and their relationship with each other is the best!
The fact that Jackson can go on his own way cause he's really well know but still stayed means got7's friendship is real and they are a family with dreams together.
Jyp lost for not giving them enough freedom and not enough promotions as their relationship wasn’t going so great that Jyp unfollowed some of the members but they now have the freedom that they wanted
JYP and JYPE made so many bad decisions with GOT7. They literally had the first Kpop group to hit the Billboard 100 Artist, that’s literally name and brand recognition, why would they not do a joint US Label for them so they could promote them as well? Missed opportunities left and right. They could have easily been bigger. And also JYP squandering their Japanese potential and success too, when GOT7 always charted number 1 or or 2 with those albums there. Let’s not even talk about JYP himself rejecting a bunch of their music before hearing more than 5 seconds of it, and having to always have his hands in their title tracks and screwing up their creative freedom, such a mess. Even jyp himself rejected their song so many times without hearing it. We hate their management mistreated got7. Jyp supposedly as a legend artist helps to promote them but jyp bragging himself better than anyone. He only supports his artists like rain, wonder girls, itzy and twice. Some say he also treated stray kids better. I don’t believe it. I don’t trust jyp and he is “snake” causing downfall of got7. Got7 will always be remembered and as a fan I’m so proud of them achieved so much awards during their era. Fly high kings ❤️

However, ever group after Twice, including Stray Kids, is managed better because that’s when JYP changed his management style, and built in house management teams specific and individualized to his groups. With GOT7 and some of his older boy groups he directly dealt with and still deals with decisions and made poor ones. You’ll remember that time when GOT7 was in the basement for so long when all the other artist that came after them and even JYP had multiple comebacks, smh. But they’re free now, and have the rights to their name. So while they may do solo stuff now, we know they can always come back and do things how they want 🐥💚

Even former yg ceo yang hyun suk sounded jyp during the audition mixnine if not mistaken. I agree with you jyp treated stray kids better just because the management has changed. The fans knew jyp of course he need to stepped down as ceo so jype will be recognized again. With JYP it has always been his ego. Previous ex-JYP artists have spoken about it. Jay Park I believe has said JYP hates guys being more successful than him, even his own artists. It explains why he focuses on the girls more than anything. He wants to have boy groups but can't stand the guys in the groups being amazing producers, amazing song writers, amazing singers. They have to be successful because HE made them successful, not because they're amazing artists.

What’s really sad is that we’re also watching this happen in real time with Stray Kids as well. Luckily, Stays are fiercely supportive, and Kingdom helped to draw in new fans. But this is still incredibly hard hitting news, because I’m reminded that Got7 said in numerous interviews that they couldn’t imagine being in Got7 without all seven. They couldn’t imagine promoting alone without the other guys there. And...now they are. And it’s sad. Additionally, with Twice and now Itzy and their success, it makes me feel like 1) JYP is under the impression that they couldn’t have reached their current success without him (which is incredibly demeaning and sexist) but also 2) makes me worry that despite their success, their days may be numbered within the JYP building. After all why stay somewhere that you feel undermined and under appreciated when any member of Twice could step out and begin work on a successful solo career in ANY field (and yet...haven’t. at all) and Itzy is well on their way to that same status.
so sad but all the got7 members have a more brighter future for them. They will always be remembered but they will have greater career on their own ahead of them.
to be honest, the GGs are treated even worse. Twice were offered to be able to have creative freedom IF they renew. and when Chaeyeon submitting something for their album, it got rejected. I think JYP just wants his artists depending on him. but his artists are planning their escape. idk if you notice that his artists BLOW UP after leaving the company.
I'm glad they are happy and are going out to pursue their own careers. That being said, I can't help being sad because I will miss them being together. I hope they are all successful wherever they go. I will look out for them.

And it says that the Law was Revised that's why they can now have their rights to have there name as GOT7 even music videos, vlives, fandom names, teasers, live videos and dance practice all of it will be their s.

For JYPE I think is mostly the case of outdated methods of making stars but also keeping them intact They do great job in molding the idols but their promotion team for most artists lack what is needed to push for longevity and relevancy Even their flagship GIRL GROUP TWICE can be promoted way better to be more relevant & everlasting but they aren't doing that Almost all the groups fans under JYPE have complained at least once for mismanagement and do extreme tactics even sending trucks but the company lacks the feedback & response technique Also if you noticed most of the people under JYPE who have left the company now have a contrasting image & while they are not as successful ( only RAIN, wonder girls members especially etc have kept their relevancy ) they still feel more happier doing their own thing I hope GOT7 members also do their own thing and be happy with the results even if it doesn't reach their expectations

I was not there fan but I had seen many of there videos and it always amazed me. When I started watching variety show and started listening there songs, I got obsessed and now sometime I skip my fav group videos and watch got7 and now I have become there fan. When I got to know there whole story, I got burst out of tears, it really hurts to see such talented people who have a power to dominate music industry worldwide, bcz of there toxic company, they didn't get the exposure, power and popularity they deserve, and whatever these boys have achieved is not because of company but only bcz of there their hardwork. They have made themselves successful by their own hardwork and talent. They are such a pure soul. I really wish one day they become worlds biggest boyband in the world and get all the hapiness and successful life they deserve and I wish they will always be together, supporting each other.
I cried through this whole thing. GOT7 was the first K-pop group I’d got into in the beginning of their debut and stuck with even after my k-pop obsession ended. I even got to experience FLYin Atlanta my favorite concert I’ve ever went to. I watched them grow and still support them endlessly. I’m so so sooooooooo proud of my babies. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Their potential was already proven even way back, they were flying high even when kpop wasn't that mainstream yet, and even to this day they still continue to surprise with their talents and abilities. They are imo the true definition of a global group and jype really loss big time with GOT7. 2015 and they were already the second most mentioned group after one direction, and that's one direction btw and again when kpop wasn't mainstream. Jype did all that they can to hide and to chain these talented men, must've been threatened by them cause look at their achievements while being held back by their own company. GOT7 truly deserved better and now its their new beginning. Cheers to 7 years and counting!
Watching this now in 2022 when we know that we're getting a got7 comeback, i couldn't be more proud of the boys. They really said if jype wouldn't let them shine, then they'd succeed without them.
I'm so lucky i got to see them live back in 2019 . The energy they have is phenomenal nothing I've seen before . Hope they'll find a way to have concerts even if they are in different labels . They really deserve so much more. ❤️❤️❤️

I was never a stan, but I've been following Got7 since debut. And they always have that It Factor, the members were funny, it was clear they really enjoyed each other's company, and they were just fun to watch as a group in promos and on variety shows. The way that they ended it just so tragic because they had so much potential to be powerhouse global idols. They were gem 💔
For real. I'm not being shady but I was genuinely surprised when BTS became THE international kpop group, cause I though Got7 would reach that goal first. Even as a casual follower of the group I could see the potential of the group in the international music scene. Maybe they didn't try because other popular groups have flopped in the past when they try to breach the US market?🤔

And GOT7 tried to get into the international marked, and they would've succeeded if division 2 wasn't full of incompetent people that didn't even really try to promote them... once the flight log era begun they were getting bigger and bigger and then all JYPE artists followed the Twice concept of Divisions and that was clearly the beginning of the downfall (meaning one team only concentrating on one or two artists - instead of rotating teammembers who will work for all artist, but on different comebacks. And that idea was good, but division two just didn't do their job right...assholes.)
Hopefully they all succeed on doing what they want, they are extremely talented and I feel their talent was wasted hopefully they can now show it. I am happy they are now able to do what they really want.

Other than favoring girl group, i think jype also controls the activities of the girl group. For example, each member of twice doesn't do any solo activities such releasing song because if jype let it happened, twice will probably end up like Miss A

I’m an army and have just recently started getting into got7 and they’re amazing, like I feel so sad that their potential was wasted that I can’t help but compare that what if jyp treated them like bang pd treated bts, they would’ve been right next to bts on the top and the two of them would’ve been ruling the world together
I love them. Jyp has snubbed soooooo many artists like got7, jimin aka Jamie, golden, day6, eaj of day6 . It’s so sad like there is room for everyone at the top. But I’m glad they are free. Got7 is one of those groups that will be together for ever.
GOT7 is who really got me hooked on Kpop. They might not be my ult group but they'll always have a special spot in my heart. Im excited to see where their journey will lead them!
JYPE is good at producing big internationally acclaimed idol groups, but they’re really bad with maintaining the momentum and expanding their success. Notable groups that they also mismanaged: Wonder Girls, Miss A, 15&, 2PM (not disbanded but on hiatus for so long) I’m so happy for GOT7. They can finally spread their wings and soar to higher heights. #GOT7FOREVER 💚
Started "Just Right" era, followed by "If You Do" and next "Hard Carry" was the eras they gained a lot of fans both in Korea and international but suddenly in 2017/2018 JYPE just barely gave them promotions and just send them to other countries to do world tour after dropping a comeback. I know concert/world tour is not a bad thing but they also need to appear on variety shows for more exposure to the general public. And that was also the year a lot of groups became so popular too so some fans left the fandom and became fans of other groups. GOT7 is like a group that popular and underrated at the same time. There's a lot of people like them only because of their personalities but not their music that's why their music is underrated. Their digitals in korean charts are weak (but not in iTunes) and their physical sales is good too, they even have a potential to reach 1 million sales in every album every comeback IF only JYPE knows how to restock their albums. Anyways fly even more higher now our GOT7 and show the world what you're really capable of. 💚
JYP did the same thing to 2PM after they debuted he shipped them to Japan. I hate to say it but its a consistent pattern with JYP, the group gets famous and then he just drops them and moves on to the next group. GOT7 is one of my favorite groups and I am so glad that they left that horrible company that did nothing but hold them back. It says something when an entire group decides to leave the company. Hopefully Stray Kids will be able to escape the same fate but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Shinhwa, a 23 year-old legendary 1st generation group with the same 6 members since 1998. They left SM in 2003, signed with another agency, fought a legal battle with SM to keep their name, which they won. After leaving the new agency, they created their own company, called Shinhwa Company, to manage the groups' activities. The leader of the group, Eric, is the CEO, another member, Minwoo, is co-CEO and all 6 members are shareholders. I don't know if GOT7 will reach this level, but they seem pretty tight and have each others back. If nothing else, they will at least support one another in their individual activities.

Because ahgases stanned them, first and foremost, for their music. As a fan, I really love all the b-sides bc it really shows their true colors! Their latest comebacks are def. no-skips. Their potential will never be a question. GOT7 is the FIRST kpop group to get #1 in the Billboard World Charts on their DEBUT album and first kpop group to enter the Artist 100. Their potential has always been there, but because of JYPE's bad business decisions, they had to be their cashcows instead of being promoted when it was most crucial. The fact that they were able to get this big in an industry this vicious is nothing short of a miracle already.
Leaving JYPE promoted them more than all 7 years of being in JYPE and ahgases are ECSTATIC about it. Our boys are free, successful and solid, to survive 7 years of struggles against JYPE we grew stronger together. "GOT7FOREVER" is more than a hashtag, it's a fact.
I fully maintain that if JYPE had gotten in on the ground floor in 2015-2016, GOT7 would be about as big as BTS in the west.

I think this needs another update. GOT7 is breaking the mold left and right. Jay B signed with Jay Park’s other label H1GHR MUSIC, two albums from BamBam and Yugyeom, Youngjae’s musicals, Jinyoung getting acting offers left and right, Jackson got Amber Liu to join his label, Mark signed with CAA
investors even called got7 the “flagship boy group of jyp”. they’re such an essential piece to jype yet they didn’t give them proper promotions as a group or let them have creative freedom. got7 is a group with 7 all rounders and it’s not common to see that in the kpop industry. for a long time ahgases have been telling the company what they’re doing wrong and they never listened to us. they lost one of the best groups in the industry. now got7 is free and i hope people continue to follow them as they start pursuing their solo projects and move forward as a group.
Totally agree with you and most ahgases here in the comments but I just wanted to point out that got7 are kind of the only group that could even be considered as the "flagship bg of jype" and I really hope people would stop using it as the ultimate statement in this whole discussion. Day6 are a k-rock group, 2pm have been on their military hiatus for a couple of years now and Stray Kids are only a 2 year old group, of course Got7 would be their "flagship boygroup".

Watching this made me realize that GOT7 is genuinely one of the most humble kpop groups I have ever seen. The amount of things they were able to accomplish as a group and how they even after all that continued to stay goofy and down to earth is amazing. GOT7 is truly a group that can never be replicated not in talent and group chemistry. To think that they were being slept on and neglected by their group is truly astonishing. JYPE lost a gigantic piece of them and they truly never find another group as them.

Same here. Altough this last year I’ve lost track of them and just found out about them leaving jyp. Hope for the best for them. They are among the few artists which I listen always their entire albums without ever getting bored of them. They are true gold and so so talented, very fine actors and dancers too 💚🦋🌿

I think the reason why most ahgases, including me, didnt feel sad when GOT7 left jype was because we'd had enough. And their most recent comeback was the tipping point. After releasing a full album for the first time in 2 years, after a 7 month long hiatus, what we got:
-1 week of promotions (with 3 music show appearances)
-No comeback showcase/premier
-No MV teaser
-Making typos in several teaser pictures
-No promotion on GOT7's official IG feed
-No promotions for the fully member produced album (all GOT7 members participated in producing the songs for the album)
-No radio appearances, 2 TH-cam contents, Weekly idol and Idol on Quiz, that's it
-Called it even with a 10 minutes video for a 5 days schedule, in which they didn't even have a filming staff and had to film with selfie cams
-JYP were getting cursed at, so they let the members have a Vlive at 2AM in the morning
-Albums went out of stock DURING THE PRE-ORDER PERIOD and were NOT RESTOCKED
and these are just a few things that I can think off on the top of my head.
So yes, while it might take longer for a GOT7 album, I feel at peace knowing that the members will finally be able to do what they like without the company stopping them. And it's not like the company was giving them a lot of promotions to start with, so there's barely gonna be a difference. Team Wang can make money without jyp getting a dime off of it. Jaebeom can release whatever songs he likes, rather than being told by the old hag (jyp) to scrap the songs that he didnt even listen to for more than 10 seconds. Mark and Bambam can start TH-cam channels now, unlike before when the company stopped them from doing so. Yugyeom, Youngjae and Jinyoung can do more solo schedules now and venture into new avenues (ie. acting, r&b hiphop) . Plus the boys have already told us that they're in it for the long ride and will continue to release albums as GOT7. AND they get to keep the rights for the name GOT7. So all in all I see it as an absolute win. Phew feels good to get all this off my chest

Missed opportunities left and right. They could have easily been bigger. And also JYP squandering their Japanese potential and success too, when GOT7 always charted number 1 or or 2 with those albums there. Let’s not even talk about JYP himself rejecting a bunch of their music before hearing more than 5 seconds of it, and having to always have his hands in their title tracks and screwing up their creative freedom, such a mess.

Even jyp himself rejected their song so many times without hearing it. We hate their management mistreated got7. Jyp supposedly as a legend artist helps to promote them but jyp bragging himself better than anyone. He only supports his artists like rain, wonder girls, itzy and twice. Some say he also treated stray kids better. I don’t believe it. I don’t trust jyp and he is “snake” causing downfall of got7. Got7 will always be remembered and as a fan I’m so proud of them achieved so much awards during their era. Fly high kings ❤️

However, ever group after Twice, including Stray Kids, is managed better because that’s when JYP changed his management style, and built in house management teams specific and individualized to his groups. With GOT7 and some of his older boy groups he directly dealt with and still deals with decisions and made poor ones. You’ll remember that time when GOT7 was in the basement for so long when all the other artist that came after them and even JYP had multiple comebacks, smh.
But they’re free now, and have the rights to their name. So while they may do solo stuff now, we know they can always come back and do things how they want 🐥💚

With JYP it has always been his ego. Previous ex-JYP artists have spoken about it. Jay Park I believe has said JYP hates guys being more successful than him, even his own artists. It explains why he focuses on the girls more than anything. He wants to have boy groups but can't stand the guys in the groups being amazing producers, amazing song writers, amazing singers. They have to be successful because HE made them successful, not because they're amazing artists.

What’s really sad is that we’re also watching this happen in real time with Stray Kids as well. Luckily, Stays are fiercely supportive, and Kingdom helped to draw in new fans. But this is still incredibly hard hitting news, because I’m reminded that Got7 said in numerous interviews that they couldn’t imagine being in Got7 without all seven. They couldn’t imagine promoting alone without the other guys there. And...now they are. And it’s sad.
Additionally, with Twice and now Itzy and their success, it makes me feel like 1) JYP is under the impression that they couldn’t have reached their current success without him (which is incredibly demeaning and sexist) but also 2) makes me worry that despite their success, their days may be numbered within the JYP building. After all why stay somewhere that you feel undermined and under appreciated when any member of Twice could step out and begin work on a successful solo career in ANY field (and yet...haven’t. at all) and Itzy is well on their way to that same status.

to be honest, the GGs are treated even worse. Twice were offered to be able to have creative freedom IF they renew. and when Chaeyeon submitting something for their album, it got rejected. I'm glad they are happy and are going out to pursue their own careers. That being said, I can't help being sad because I will miss them being together. I hope they are all successful wherever they go. I will look out for them.

I think is mostly the case of outdated methods of making stars but also keeping them intact
They do great job in molding the idols but their promotion team for most artists lack what is needed to push for longevity and relevancy
Even their flagship GIRL GROUP TWICE can be promoted way better to be more relevant & everlasting but they aren't doing that
Almost all the groups fans under JYPE have complained at least once for mismanagement and do extreme tactics even sending trucks but the company lacks the feedback & response technique
Also if you noticed most of the people under JYPE who have left the company now have a contrasting image & while they are not as successful ( only RAIN, wonder girls members especially etc have kept their relevancy ) they still feel more happier doing their own thing
I hope GOT7 members also do their own thing and be happy with the results even if it doesn't reach their expectations

I was not there fan but I had seen many of there videos and it always amazed me. When I started watching variety show and started listening there songs, I got obsessed and now sometime I skip my fav group videos and watch got7 and now I have become there fan. When I got to know there whole story, I got burst out of tears, it really hurts to see such talented people who have a power to dominate music industry worldwide, bcz of there toxic company, they didn't get the exposure, power and popularity they deserve, and whatever these boys have achieved is not because of company but only bcz of there their hardwork. They have made themselves successful by their own hardwork and talent. They are such a pure soul. I really wish one day they become worlds biggest boyband in the world and get all the hapiness and successful life they deserve and I wish they will always be together, supporting each other.
I cried through this whole thing. GOT7 was the first K-pop group I’d got into in the beginning of their debut and stuck with even after my k-pop obsession ended. I even got to experience FLYin Atlanta my favorite concert I’ve ever went to. I watched them grow and still support them endlessly. I’m so so sooooooooo proud of my babies. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Their potential was already proven even way back, they were flying high even when kpop wasn't that mainstream yet, and even to this day they still continue to surprise with their talents and abilities. They are imo the true definition of a global group and jype really loss big time with GOT7. 2015 and they were already the second most mentioned group after one direction, and that's one direction btw and again when kpop wasn't mainstream. Jype did all that they can to hide and to chain these talented men, must've been threatened by them cause look at their achievements while being held back by their own company. GOT7 truly deserved better and now its their new beginning. Cheers to 7 years and counting!

I was never a stan, but I've been following Got7 since debut. And they always have that It Factor, the members were funny, it was clear they really enjoyed each other's company, and they were just fun to watch as a group in promos and on variety shows. The way that they ended it just so tragic because they had so much potential to be powerhouse global idols. They were gem 💔
For real. I'm not being shady but I was genuinely surprised when BTS became THE international kpop group, cause I though Got7 would reach that goal first. Even as a casual follower of the group I could see the potential of the group in the international music scene. Maybe they didn't try because other popular groups have flopped in the past when they try to breach the US market?🤔

And GOT7 tried to get into the international marked, and they would've succeeded if division 2 wasn't full of incompetent people that didn't even really try to promote them... once the flight log era begun they were getting bigger and bigger and then all JYPE artists followed the Twice concept of Divisions and that was clearly the beginning of the downfall (meaning one team only concentrating on one or two artists - instead of rotating teammembers who will work for all artist, but on different comebacks. And that idea was good, but division two just didn't do their job right...assholes.)

Hopefully they all succeed on doing what they want, they are extremely talented and I feel their talent was wasted hopefully they can now show it. I am happy they are now able to do what they really want.

JYPE is good at producing big internationally acclaimed idol groups, but they’re really bad with maintaining the momentum and expanding their success. Notable groups that they also mismanaged: Wonder Girls, Miss A, 15&, 2PM (not disbanded but on hiatus for so long)

Started "Just Right" era, followed by "If You Do" and next "Hard Carry" was the eras they gained a lot of fans both in Korea and international but suddenly in 2017/2018 JYPE just barely gave them promotions and just send them to other countries to do world tour after dropping a comeback. I know concert/world tour is not a bad thing but they also need to appear on variety shows for more exposure to the general public. And that was also the year a lot of groups became so popular too so some fans left the fandom and became fans of other groups. GOT7 is like a group that popular and underrated at the same time. There's a lot of people like them only because of their personalities but not their music that's why their music is underrated. Their digitals in korean charts are weak (but not in iTunes) and their physical sales is good too, they even have a potential to reach 1 million sales in every album every comeback IF only JYPE knows how to restock their albums. Anyways fly even more higher now our GOT7 and show the world what you're really capable of. 💚
Indeed! I love JYP artists but I hate JYP 🙄
JYP did the same thing to 2PM after they debuted he shipped them to Japan. I hate to say it but its a consistent pattern with JYP, the group gets famous and then he just drops them and moves on to the next group. GOT7 is one of my favorite groups and I am so glad that they left that horrible company that did nothing but hold them back. It says something when an entire group decides to leave the company. Hopefully Stray Kids will be able to escape the same fate but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Exactly. I was so frustrated with jype when they posted on fb the billboard ads of Got7 that the fans hard-earned on voting sites bc that was their answer to our 5-day truck protest roaming around Seoul. Like are u kidding me?? U did not pay for those ads, the fans did that, so basically u haven't done anything yet. Also how they deleted the vlive of Yugyeom saying thank you to fans about the trucks and JB playing his demo of Eclipse that JY. Park disliked.
