- Maserarti has entered the SUV foray with the 2018 Levante. From it's V6 Twin-Turbo engine to it's luxurious appointments. Does the Levante bring everything necessary to the table to compete with the likes of Audi, BMW, and Mercedes Benz?

There are a LOT of vids on YT talking down this particular car and indeed the brand. Luckily I ignored them and bought a used 2018 Levante GranLusso 350PS and I love it. Blu Nobile colour with a Zenga interior and red calipers. Sounds great too, especially in 'Sport Mode'. The best thing about the Levante is not what it IS, but just what it ISN'T. ie a Merc, Audi BMW etc. you can see people looking twice at it. Ignore the haters - enjoy being different!

Grant, I'm thinking about buying a 2018 Levante as well! However, I hear that it's a money pit as far as maintenance. Did yours come with a warranty? I keep hearing bad things about the Levante but I love them.
@@sherriepeterson8082 Like any premium brand maintenance costs will be higher than others. My car had the remainder of the warranty and I intend getting it extended by Maserati. I love the car not just because of what it is but what it ISN’T ie BMW, Merc or Range Rover etc. I’ve been lucky to own cars from those manufacturers but I’ve NEVER had so many positive comments from complete strangers. Do it!
I’m debating buying a 2018 one right now some ppl are telling me absolutely not others are telling me to go for it I’m so confused on what to do
@@justvibin7883 I’ve just sold mine after 3 trouble-free years of motoring enjoyment. If the car has low mileage and has a manufacture’s full service history then I’d say ‘go for it’s.
They’re great cars and they’re fun to own.
I enjoy mine very much..quality is solid.being a mechanic for 38 years..I can't find fault in the vehicle..

I really don't understand how this review has any credibility when Raiti did not drive it.
I've had multiple Audi quattros and was ready to buy a Q8 Tfsi... but a TV advert got me intrigued about the Levante so I went and test drove one. It was the 345 bhp one like the one in the video (but a GranSport rather than GranLusso) and I loved it. Ignore some of the snippy comments about there being the odd bits of Chrysler (Jeep) switchgear etc. The infotainment and tech is more than good enough. The interior fit and finish is lovely - special - and I say this comparing to Audi who do some of the best interiors in the world. I decided the 345 was a bit lacking in "go" compared to the allroad BiTdi A6 that I had so I went for the 424 bhp S GranSport and it is lovely. If you think that 345 bhp sounded good the S is that but turned up to 11.
Anyway my point is that spending all this time analysing the interior feel (which is very subjective) is just nonsense unless you actually DRIVE the vehicle - which is what they are designed to do and is THE part which will ignite your senses and enjoyment IF you are a car person.

I just saw one parked on a street light next to me and had to see a review about this suv. looks nice on the outside but the interior is too basic, nothing fancy you would expect from a Maserati. Miami ✌🏻

Raiti this can be a good choice for a family of 4 with 2 children under 10? Putting the price aside I am asking for its practical perspectives such as family routine drive, school, grocery, and some 5-6 hours traveling with few luggages in back. I definitely buy the uniqueness of this car but sometimes this kind of design focused ones do not deliver comfort to their users. Thanks for your review, Donovan from Spain.

Raiti's Rides cheers! I am looking into the upper end SUV segment and so far brands like Mercedes, Porsche, and Maserati are under my speculation. Probably my knowledge is too short, I may need more research... 🤔

No way! Piano black is the worst trend in interior design. It's dirty with fingerprints and dust after 10 seconds.

Maserati has a special "something" alright its called breaking down and spending the lion-share of its time in the shop as opposed to on the road. Seriously though, Morrissey weeps for people who buy this brand.

So when the Cayenne goes high the Levante goes low? lol I think the time to buy one of these is when it's traded in when you can take advantage of a rather large depreciation on this vehicle.
Peter Carey I think you nailed this one! The depreciation on these is TERRIBLE! It’s like a lead brick falling from the sky. There are so many other cars I would get before this. I do like the front grill.
Raiti's Rides The flip side of depreciation is that you can buy pre-owned ones very cheaply. They also inflate the residual, which means you can lease them FAR cheaper than the Cayenne. For the money, the Jag F Pace with the big engine is the one to beat IMO.

Maserati also builds the Alfa Romeo 4C and did the 8C. The Ferrari California was, reportedly, a Maserati design. The 3 brands in modern times are closely linked thanks to FIAT and the Levante is built at their Turin plant. Think VW and what it does with all its many brands.
Well. I am living in Stuttgart, hometown of Mercedes and Porsche. You see them everywhere which is super boring. Even they are the better cars, the Maserati is unique and a real eye catcher. That is what u r going for when buying this car.

My God, this is not a car presentation, but a promotion of a presentation. The car can hardly be seen in the attachment, but the face of the presentator is always in the big picture. Really bad.

Don't like the inside
The only thing I line is the grill.
The gauges SUCK. I’m shocked at how plain they are. My wife’s Volvo XC70 Cross Country has thick front and rear real aluminum skid plates on the bumpers. Also the HID headlights have real glass lenses. It’s a 2004 black leather and black paint and blacked out privacy glass. For 2005 Volvo went plastic headlights, and plastic front and rear skid plates. Bogus! Plastic skid plates on a 90K Maserati !! GTFOH with that nonsense. Only fools with more money than brains buy Maserati’s.
I think for some it simply comes down to the name and they are willing to fork over the cash for it. Maserati does have one hell of a heritage but that was SOOOOOOOOO long ago. This just seems like a weird knock off.
