Tampa is a major city on the Gulf Coast of the U.S. state of Florida. The city sits on Tampa Bay as the largest city in the Tampa Bay area, and is the seat of Hillsborough County. With an estimated population of 399,700 in 2019, Tampa is the third-most populated city in Florida after Jacksonville and Miami, and the 47th most populated city in the United States.
Tampa functioned as a military center during the 19th century with the establishment of Fort Brooke. The cigar industry was also brought to the city by Vincente Martinez Ybor, after whom Ybor City is named. Tampa was formally reincorporated as a city in 1887, following the Civil War. Today, Tampa's economy is driven by tourism, health care, finance, insurance, technology, construction, and the maritime industry. The bay's port is the largest in the state, responsible for over $15 billion in economic impact.
The city is part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area which is a four-county area composed of roughly 3.1 million residents, making it the second largest metropolitan statistical area (MSA) in the state and the fourth largest in the Southeastern United States, behind Washington, D.C., Miami, and Atlanta. The Greater Tampa Bay area has over 4 million residents and generally includes the Tampa and Sarasota metro areas. As of 2018, Tampa's annual growth rate is 1.63%.

It reminds me of Southeast Asia land-wise, flat and green. It was sad to see a lack of sidewalks and bike lanes though, similar to large Texan cities. I know some tie them to politics but such a small thing makes a big difference to an urban area, and I don't really know why it's politicized besides corporate greed via Big Oil and their investors? Which kinda sucks for everyone besides a couple thousand people lol but okay. But I imagine it's not the easiest getting around Tampa if you don't have a car or can't drive, especially in the suburbs.

Since you're asking this question, you already know the answer, Tampa only needs an NBA team.

@@williebrown6075 actually I skimmed through it because it popped up as a recommendation as I was looking for facts about Florida. Never watched it from start to finish, wasn’t worth it. Good job to the content creator though. Moving there was an option, but the more I skimmed through it the more I seen nothing but flat roads, with no real scenery. The beach is probably the best thing in florida and bits of Miami. Otherwise it is boring. I don’t mean that in a bad way, but coming from Chicago born and raised and now living in Arizona, so many people down talk L.A. talking about the homeless rate or how dirty, but there’s good and bad everywhere. Again I’m from Chicago I’m not looking for perfect. However there’s much more art, opportunity, more food options, better weather, more mom and pop shops, scenery, urbanized lifestyle, I appreciate the graffiti, mountains, more outdoor lifestyle and things to do overall, and diversity although Florida is a melting pot of similarities in culture. Unless your in Miami, on the beach, renting a yacht or jet ski, universal studios and Disney which we have on the west coast, there really isn’t much. Too each their own though.
