- Road trip from St Petersburg Florida to Sarasota Florida over the Sunshine Skyway on a windy March afternoon . This area is the western side of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. Home to the best beaches in the country. My favorites at least. Warm clear water and white sand. Perfect day for a drive too!

St. Petersburg is a city on Florida's gulf coast, part of the Tampa Bay area. It's known for its pleasant weather (hence its “Sunshine City” nickname), making it popular for golfing, boating, fishing and beachgoing. Its waterfront parks host the Dali Museum, featuring surrealist works of art; the Museum of Fine Arts, with works ranging from ancient to contemporary; and Mahaffey Theater, home of the Florida Orchestra

Sarasota is a city south of Tampa on Florida’s Gulf Coast that was once the winter home of the Ringling Brothers Circus. Today, it hosts a number of cultural institutes, notably the Ringling Museum of Art, which showcases old masters and modern art. It’s also the gateway to miles of beaches with fine sand and shallow waters, such as Lido Beach and Siesta Key Beach.

I discovered your videos when I was a first time driver. I would watch them to help me overcome my fear of driving and appreciate the beauty of it. 3 years later I have overcome my fear (I literally just get in the car and go), and I'm back just for enjoyment this time.

St. Pete/Clearwater beaches are way to crowded for my taste. In that area I prefer Ft. Desoto island/park. I-275 just north of the Skyway, Exit 17 and follow the signs.

I used to live in Bradenton and it was great to see parts of the town I grew up in and with regard to the beach recommendations, check out Anna Maria Island. It would make an awesome video if you are still in the area, especially at sunset. From Sarasota, you head to St Armands Circle and hug the coast up through Long Boat Key. It works it’s way back towards Bradenton but you see Coquina Beach, Bradenton Beach etc. Then to head away from the beaches, stick to SR 64 towards downtown. That’d be an awesome scenic drive!

So glad you have video of the Skyway Bridge drive BEFORE they put up the hideous nets at the top. This was my drive to work everyday and they ruined such a beautiful view with those.

@jutah Most likely the jumpers. They act like they are saving lives but in reality, it was to save money from the response to find the body. They didn't even bother to make the nets nice looking. They were ugly and rusty from the day they installed them yet they are taking years to repaint the metal parts of the bridge. Makes no sense. Government at work.

besides the white car that disappeared the other cars that were in front of the white car were no longer in sight which leads to believe it was a perfect edit and he would have had to drive there twice to stitch together both footage.

I take this drive every day for work. 62nd and 4th (st.pete) to Cortez (Bradenton). The Skyway is scary and beautiful on foggy days. As you approach your blind, yet when you peek. Its as if you're on top of Mount Everest.

If you are referring to the manmade global warming hoax, the Left was preaching to us kids back in the 70's that we would have no beaches left in 20 years. Almost 50 years later they look like they did when I was a kid and the only time I remember sand having to be brought in was in certain areas after a hurricane. Don't buy the BS grasshopper.
