      Thanks Appreciate it. Yeah first few videos were a bit of a car crash - sorted the music volume now. Hopefully they will improve as we move on.

    The background music is so loud that you start getting headaches after five minutes.

    Hi Mathew, just want to ask what is the exact dimension of your breeding tank for a pair of discus? Just want to separate my pair from the community tank. Thanks

      Hi Christian
      Sorry for the late reply - best measurements for a breeding tank are18” x 18” x 18” cube. However I know these can be difficult and uncommon dimensions to find. So maybe something similar or just buy 5 18” x 18” 6mm plate glass panels and make the tank yourself

      @@sedaquatics7277 Thanks for your kind reply mate. I have tried artificially rearing of discus fry many times but I have still no success. especially bout their first food. Hope you any idea or if you have tried that before? And Im not so sure, if there's a factor when you place your breeding tank at bottom near the floor height. Others says discus might feel stress and the pair will not going to spawn. Dont know if its true.

    Hi, how much MB can I add on a 7 litres tank that I will use for discus eggs? Thx

    • @sedaquatics7277
      @sedaquatics7277  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Daniel - I use 1ml per 9L - but that’s on RO water for Dechlorinated tap water I’d go as high as 1ml for your 7L tank and slowly dilute it by doing 50% water changes every 12 hours until they become wrigglers - hope this helps

      @@sedaquatics7277 thx, but the eggs became white again. Is there any tip to increase male discus' sperm like food or something? In 15 spawns only twice I saw 10% wrigglers

      What’s your water parameters? PH? temp? Etc. What flow rate do you have? Any air-stone in the Tank? Are you using tap or RO water?

      Sometimes it can also come down to the age of the fish. Many females will become sexually mature at 9-12 months - whereas the males will go through the process of breeding but not actually produce viable sperm until 18-20 month mark. And sometimes it just takes time. I’ve had a pair that didn’t get it right until 20th plus time.

      @@sedaquatics7277 ph 5.8, 2 air stones, kh 2, gh 3, temp 28* Celsius, no2 0, no3 7, water flux from filter pomp covered with sponge, I use tap water with bioconditioner mixed with deminerelised water. Only 2 times eggs hatched like 15%, they lay every 5-7 days. Yesterday from 250 eggs only 1 get fertilised even the male cross over all of them. Total of spawns maybe 15-17 till now. They are like 2 years old I think or maybe younger.
