I can relate. After an older cousin introduced me to Dungeons & Dragons around 89-90 I had almost no one to play with(my friends were not into it, too much reading lol)and zero competent DMs but that didn't stop me from compiling a large collection of books(thanks mom and dad)that I read over and over and created characters. I love that the Demonic Goddess of Sea Storms also has earned the title of “The B!+¢h” among local sailors. It is little world building things like that which makes these fantasy worlds feel alive.
I think he has touched on them previously, though I couldn't tell you which video it's in. One regarding an Outer Plane, IIRC. I'm tempted to say Bytopia, but that doesn't sound right. What I do remember is that they are incredibly powerful, even by draconic standards, so long as they remain within the upper planes to which they have become naturalized.
when I bought the dnd Lore and Legends book it came with a gorgeous map I framed and hung on my wall - every now and then I look up at the map and pick a place I haven't been to before, and research to see if anyone else has explored the region and has stories to tell - Today it was the Nelanther Isles - thank you for sharing!
I had a triton paladin that worshipped Umberlee. My back story was that my father had become obsessed with a book which caused him many sleepless nights and to hear voices. One night my character saw his father set himself and home on fire. I woke up outside clutching the book. I decided to read the book to try to learn what it is that ailed my father. Since then I started hearing voices. They would whisper terrible things which would cause me to have outbursts. Roleplaying it out I was randomly saying things like "no we cant kill them." When the other players would look at me I would just tap my trident on the ground twice (I brought with me an aquaman trident prop) then I would say a light prayer to Umberlee: "bitch please." I was to be an oathbreaker paladin subclassed with pact of old one warlock because eventually I would give in to the knowledge given by the book and fully accept the madness.
Also, you describe how particularly radiant and perfect Triel was… if he was part of the Hebdomad, that would be a wild revelation. Seems he was “just” a throne, though.
In 3.5, both Mammon and Baalzebul have special _prestige_ classes for their followers and both seem to run very similar and master liars and manipulators. The main difference is that Disciples of Mammon lie to get rich, Disciples of Baalzebul lie to hurt you.

He was last seen about 20 years ago in the City of Angels, if Demon: the Fallen is anything to go by. It stands to reason, as I don't see how Lucifer could be anywhere but LA.
This one is strangely appropriate. I was thinking of a pirate isles campaign lately. I’ll be disappointed if I have to run it, because I have an amazing character concept I want to play out in it. I pictured a Druid of the waves on a trimaran built on the back of the multiple ship’s boats that need never make landfall. The trimaran would skip across the stormiest seas by the use of levitation magic on its hulls. Food and water would never be needed, because it carries fishing nets and a 2 gallon cask that refills daily with a Create Water enchantment. A Fog Cloud or Obscuring Mist enchantment on the mast would keep it permanently hidden from view at anchor. A spear and sling enchanted to give lightning damage would make it look like a storm itself was attacking as lightning bolts arc out of the fog. Since it uses levitation to skip across the waves, it could beach on any island and be easily pushed back into the sea. It would be such a giggle to play that character at the tiller of the Stormwrack, but I don’t have a game that it would fit into currently.
I didn't know Baalzebul had such a deep backdrop. And I didn't know it was connected to the Wolf spiders and the Queen of Chaos.. Will you be giving us more info? You as a Sage has been added to my future campaigns.
I'm curious about the law of absolute obedience. They have to follow the orders of their Archduke, certainly, but other Archdukes are above most other devils, so shouldn't a lesser devil respect the orders of other Archdukes? If they don't go against the orders of their Archduke. I doubt they can just say :" you are not my Archduke so sit on a trident !" to an Archduke without getting severely punished. Another thing: could a very skilled rogue fake the " sign" of a pit devil (or other high ranking devil) to gain passage through a particular layer? Won't work 100% of the times, but still could get you out of some low to medium level encounters.
Watching youd videos has me thinking I should write out notes in mych the same way for my own world. I need a scholarly individual for my game world who would go around the world like so.
