You can still play on your monitor but the controller will still be paired to your remote play. There is a way to do remote play with a controller paired to your PS5. You have to use a dummy account and sign a controller into it after setting up the remote play.

Do you have videos like a ‘how to set up live streaming and chat on Twitch using a PS5+Macbook Pro for Dummies’? And can I use the Macbook Pro webcam for the box with my image superimposed onto the gaming screen?
All good! So it all depends on how good you internet is. If you’re in WiFi on your PS5, you might have lag more than often. For me, I experienced no lag and it’s pretty 1 to 1 with my PS5 on my monitor. To answer your question, you’ll be playing on your monitor, not MacBook and there could be lag. Sounds like you already know what you need in your set up lol. Everything here would work, but I’ve never ran an HDMI Matrix through an Elgato before. Here’s one I found on Amazon: amzn.to/3BmB4hD The GoXlr should be fine in this set up as well.
Without a capture card, you can just connect your headphones to your Mac and add an input audio capture source for your headphones. It may pick up your headphone mic or not. Problem is your party chat/game chat won’t hear you.
Sometimes it won’t so up if you full screen the remote play after opening OBS. Just close OBS and reopen it. If it’s still not there, in properties, there’s a check box that says show hidden windows, (something like that.) check that box and it should pop up.
hello, i got a mcbook m2 , and i did everything untild i put “game” source and after i press ok i dont get anything, it just stors in the source category and i get a black screen
Hey so did you change the "Method" from "Display Capture" to "Window Capture"? This will give you all the window options in the "Window" section of the properties.
Thank you but I've been getting clips from my ps5 gallery and using a usb to transfer it to my MacBook, the problem is the quality is horrible so is this what I need to do to get better quality or do I need a capture card
Oh 100% get a capture card. This method is for just trying out streaming if you’re not really serious or sure you want to do it. (For people who might buy a capture card and wind up not even touching it). I used your other video as reference to stream on twitch but the stream was frozen from one part of the stream and jump to another and my CPU would be over 50% but aside from my problem it’s still a good video
Everything is working for me after trying this. Only issue I’m having is my stream looks really small on my tv. Like it’s not full screen on the tv but looks great on my phone. Any tips ?
so is the computer just mirroring it or am i actually playing from it? because if im playing from my laptop i would surely have worse resolution, response time, and lower hZ which would not be ideal?
You’d be playing it through remote play just like you would normal use remote play. Your computer is just mirroring it. Remote play quality varies wildly depending on all the usual internet factors. In my case during my testing, lag and response time were very minimal, but not perfect. Also this method is not ideal period. You’re better off just getting a capture card if you can. This is for those who are looking to try OBS streaming without dishing out for the hardware just yet. Not a long term solution.
Are you talking the property windows when you add the screen capture? Double click the source layer for your screen capture or right click it and go to properties at the bottom.
Yeah, so if you are trying to hear the game through your TV while capturing it via remote play, the audio should be fine. Just make sure your mic isn't picking up the audio from the TV otherwise you'll have audio feedback issues.
hello! this videoe helps out alot! but i cant really do much on obs without automatically starting my stream and idk how to fix it :c i have to go back and fourth to stop stream,
Ah! Yeah that’s usually the case with streaming. You can set a hotkey on my keyboard as a start/stop button. In settings go to the hotkey section and find start stream and stop stream and assign a keyboard key to it. That should help.
I was able to add everything, except the part where i needed to add my headphone audio, and i did it how you explained on your video, its not popping up on my screen, its only getting the mac audio, sorry lol@@DatSamurai
alright question for you brotha i realized when i broadcast straight from the ps5 it works with the ps5 camera showing me live on my twitch stream with no border panels though and shows my cam while using remote play in obs as a source but if i start stream directly from obs i go live on twitch with panels etc. and gameplay but with no camera i can stream either way regardless just one way without panels etc and the other with panels etc. can this be resolved all while still using ps5 camera
@@SupremeNoWay You're asking how can you still use your PS5 camera with OBS right? You can plug your PS5 camera into your Macbook and add it as a camera source in OBS. That way, you can stream have full controll over your camera without trying to mess around with it through your PS5. Hope I understood you question right, let me know lol
When I am in OBS trying to create a new source, no options show up under the "window", has anyone else encountered this problem? I am stuck at this point in the setup and would appreciate any / all help
Thankfully, a vid on getting PS5 and OBS working. Unfortunately I've run into some issues. Main one is game audio doesn't come through. And there is a significant echo. Also, the gameplay freezes afterna while, but the camera works just fine. Anyone know how to fix these issues?
Some of this sounds really specific. We can hop on a call and I can help you sort things out if you like: bit.ly/Get-Streaming-Help Otherwise, you’re gonna have to explain your setup to me here. Make sure you don’t have two audio inputs going or your monitoring and outputting two audio sources.
Very helpful video! One question, after recording my clip it saves as .mkv and I have no application that allows me to open this file. Is there another way to open the recordings? Also what program do you use for editing?
Ah that's the file type that OBS saves videos in. You can change it to MP4 or MOV in the settings, I just recommend to keep it as the .mkv file and "remux" it into the file type you want. Once you finish a recording, go to File -> Remux Recording. Then select the file you just recorded. This will convert the file into your desired file type right in OBS.
@@DatSamuraiidk if you’ll see this but I have been watching your videos but I am so stuck!! I have everything setup even watched a separate video putting an overlay in but I am stuck on the sound… I have the turtle beach headset with the usb dongle too but it doesn’t want to connect at allll to my MacBook… I also have to use an extra cord to connect the usb-c to usb… so my question is I am stumped and don’t know what to do from here.
@angelinaeggert2148 It sounds like either your Turtle Beach is not compatible with Mac OR the USB-A to USB-C dongle is not passing the Bluetooth signal through. Can you connect your headphones with the USB stick? If not, just use a wired connection with your headphones. Hope this helps!
Yeah it all depends on your wifi strength, I’d say you’d be better off just getting a capture card. I made a video here comparing some at different price points. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/2Qdx4wwwk90/w-d-xo.htmlsi=D2zC_3F5KmNrpKCF
I’m in the Source properties i have it on window capture but there’s no window Drop down Like there’s no option to click on ps remote play app, any tips
When I log into my PlayStation from remote play, it tells me “ you have successfully signed in. Return to the previous application to continue.” But when I do, it just tells me to sign in again.
Yeah it helps to have one for recordings too. Think of a capture card as a device that allows your computer to see your game at high resolutions and high frame rates.
Does it just randomly lose connection? Is your Mac going to sleep? Are you connecting your controller to your PS5? Is your internet connection stable? These are all factors that could cause a disconnect. Let me know what exactly happens when it disconnects.

Without a capture card, you can just connect your headphones to your Mac and add an input audio capture source for your headphones. It may pick up your headphone mic or not. Problem is your party chat/game chat won’t hear you.
Good video bro
Thanks! Glad I could help 🙏🏾
so when i look for the window the ps remote play isn't there how do i find it
Sometimes it won’t so up if you full screen the remote play after opening OBS. Just close OBS and reopen it. If it’s still not there, in properties, there’s a check box that says show hidden windows, (something like that.) check that box and it should pop up.
make a video on how to do your alerts in the backgroung it will be very helpful
Gotcha covered 👍🏾
hello, i got a mcbook m2 , and i did everything untild i put “game” source and after i press ok i dont get anything, it just stors in the source category and i get a black screen
Hey so did you change the "Method" from "Display Capture" to "Window Capture"?
This will give you all the window options in the "Window" section of the properties.
the game audio does not appear in the stream when i plug my headphones into my macbook. how can i fix this?
Make sure you switch the monitoring settings to 'Monitor & Output".
Here’s a capture card video I did comparing different prices points and quality: th-cam.com/video/2Qdx4wwwk90/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EQ3riiY1jN_eDivR
This was helpful. Thanks
Glad I could help! 🙏🏾

I used your other video as reference to stream on twitch but the stream was frozen from one part of the stream and jump to another and my CPU would be over 50% but aside from my problem it’s still a good video
So I use the ps5 camera how do I get the camera on the OBS I don’t like streaming without the face cam
Do headphones go into Mac?
Yes 👍🏾
Not a long term solution.
the "properties" option never popped up for me , its also un clickable ?? what did I do wrong ?
Are you talking the property windows when you add the screen capture? Double click the source layer for your screen capture or right click it and go to properties at the bottom.
does it work if we mirror it on TV, i mean the audio output and input?
Yeah, so if you are trying to hear the game through your TV while capturing it via remote play, the audio should be fine. Just make sure your mic isn't picking up the audio from the TV otherwise you'll have audio feedback issues.

Why does nothing work for me like when I click on window to find ps Rooney play it says list empty
hello! this videoe helps out alot! but i cant really do much on obs without automatically starting my stream and idk how to fix it :c i have to go back and fourth to stop stream,
Ah! Yeah that’s usually the case with streaming. You can set a hotkey on my keyboard as a start/stop button. In settings go to the hotkey section and find start stream and stop stream and assign a keyboard key to it. That should help.
when i try to add alerts on sources or click anywhere in obs, my stream automatically starts, would setting up a hotkey work??
@@DatSamurai
omg !! yeees it had a hotkey already but i wasnt aware thankyouuuu so muchhhhhhhh
@@annaalvarado6621 was just about to say lol. Glad you figured it out and no worries 🔥🙏🏾
I was able to add everything, except the part where i needed to add my headphone audio, and i did it how you explained on your video, its not popping up on my screen, its only getting the mac audio,
sorry lol@@DatSamurai
i need the video on how you set up you obs layout
Heard loud and clear ✌🏾
Please and thank you for i am streaming the exact way with ps5 along with remote play through the macbook pro m1chip
alright question for you brotha i realized when i broadcast straight from the ps5 it works with the ps5 camera showing me live on my twitch stream with no border panels though and shows my cam while using remote play in obs as a source but if i start stream directly from obs i go live on twitch with panels etc. and gameplay but with no camera i can stream either way regardless just one way without panels etc and the other with panels etc. can this be resolved all while still using ps5 camera
forgot to mention with the ps5 camera as well
@@SupremeNoWay You're asking how can you still use your PS5 camera with OBS right? You can plug your PS5 camera into your Macbook and add it as a camera source in OBS. That way, you can stream have full controll over your camera without trying to mess around with it through your PS5. Hope I understood you question right, let me know lol
fire.

Does this work with any PS5 game and does it work with parsec? Thanks!
Parsec is a remote computing app. I’m not sure how that would fit with a PS5. But yes you can do remote play with any PS5 game.
great video bro, just a quick question I want to have my friend's voice in the stream, how can I do it ? :) seems there's only my voice on stream
thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
Can you do this for Xbox?
When I am in OBS trying to create a new source, no options show up under the "window", has anyone else encountered this problem? I am stuck at this point in the setup and would appreciate any / all help
Check out the free PDF guide I made: bit.ly/PS5-OBS-PDF
I mentioned some troubleshooting steps especially if you’re using one monitor.
tks a mil for this!
We can hop on a call and I can help you sort things out if you like: bit.ly/Get-Streaming-Help
Otherwise, you’re gonna have to explain your setup to me here. Make sure you don’t have two audio inputs going or your monitoring and outputting two audio sources.
What’s the solution with intel mac’s ?? Without getting a capture card
Use window capture instead. Then capture the output from your headphone by monitor the window captures source audio. That should work 👍🏾
Very helpful video!
Thank you! @@DatSamurai
this video made me sub, but i still cant find my playstation remote app in the source
Try closing out of OBS and reopen it after your remote play is connected
What can I do if my Mac book is older
You can still do this method. Just make sure you download the right OBS version (Intel OBS for Intel Macs).
Can you use wireless headset which has a usb dongle??
Yes try it out, but I’m pretty sure your mic will still be your PlayStation controller for in game and party chat. Give it a shot
Ok but one question I’m doing this on a Mac book and my controller keeps moving my Mac book screen
am i able to still play 120 fps thru my monitor no delay like usual
Yes in the really good internet cases, your monitor can be 1 to 1 with remote play.
When i click remote play it just shows black
What if I don’t have the Mac OS screen capture and it says display capture
Display capture works fine too. you just need to add the computer audio to get the sound from the remote play.
Display capture is not picking up remote play
I have a MacBook Pro 2016
Remote play has crazy frame rate drops and lags tho so how would you stream from PS5 to macbook while also streaming on Twitch? that's insane :/
Yeah it all depends on your wifi strength, I’d say you’d be better off just getting a capture card. I made a video here comparing some at different price points. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/2Qdx4wwwk90/w-d-xo.htmlsi=D2zC_3F5KmNrpKCF
@@DatSamurai yup, capture card is the way to go for me. I'll check out the video, thx :)
I don’t see the MacOS Screen Capture How do I fix that?
You probably have an older Mac or an earlier version of OBS. Just use screen capture .
I’m in the Source properties i have it on window capture but there’s no window Drop down Like there’s no option to click on ps remote play app, any tips
nvm
Hey how'd did you fix that problem? I'm having the same issue@@Brendan.boyd28
When I log into my PlayStation from remote play, it tells me “ you have successfully signed in. Return to the previous application to continue.” But when I do, it just tells me to sign in again.
Do i still need a capture card even if im not streaming?
Yeah it helps to have one for recordings too. Think of a capture card as a device that allows your computer to see your game at high resolutions and high frame rates.
For me It always lose connection and does not work do you know how?
Does it just randomly lose connection? Is your Mac going to sleep? Are you connecting your controller to your PS5? Is your internet connection stable? These are all factors that could cause a disconnect. Let me know what exactly happens when it disconnects.
