    • @Ci3ru
      @Ci3ru 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@tecwzrd Used to own 6 boars, only 2 of them were violent, and only 3 of them got injuries, one was fatal sadly the other 3 never had issues but yeah they fight so female gins are much better. 3 of them are still alive though! 2 bite each other sometimes, luckily It's never been anything serious. (Unlike an earlier event which was not even a fight they were tryna kill each other they just accidentally got the underside of the Alpha which punctured his intesgine) but overall I don't regret getting 6 males, It was an expierence and even with the in unfortunate death. But they were all happy and had a huge incolsure and a seperate pen for summer outside. They 3 that are left don't have much time left and when they do go I won't be getting more. If I do in the future though, I will stick to 2 female gins. 6 boars wasn't smart for sure but It worked out mostly, very stressful though.

    • @Ci3ru
      @Ci3ru 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I'd also like to add we bought them in groups of 3, all the same litter of their respective bunch. Weirdly only 1 pair of siblings fought and the other litter was never any bother. The litter that was violent was also in a very small incolsure when we bought them so I assume they just never had space which led to their behaviour of fighting.

      It depends, here in Peru we breed them for food, make some decorations with their fur, and we use their poop as a fertilizer, but it's because we have people who eat them, so we have a market.
      They also can be breed for scientific purpose, for that you need to maintain a lineage.

Don't think I could do the same if I were somewhere that served dog or cat, no judgement intended. Weren't bad but anticuchos were my go to when available. You're right they should. Even with these alarms and natural safe measures animals are always going to be taken by birds of prey. That's why even though chickens look out for and sound alarm about threats they need cover to hide under, and a place off the ground to roost at night.

It did not matter if I was opening the door for something I was trying to retrieve, they just assumed something good was on the way.
