Thank you! Thank you ! A million thanks!!!
Hello my friend from my favorite channel!
I have had a Bergara B14 for a little over a year, and despite making countless recipes with the refills, I was not getting the expected results.
I saw your excellent video about this rifle, took your advice and ran to measure the factory supplied muzzle brake.
I was one of the "lucky" ones to have a 6 Creedmoor brake.
I have a lathe, so I bought a 7.75mm drill bit. and I spent it taking the hole to this measurement.
    Wow!! Magic appeared!!!
My best groups were 27.56mm. and 31.90 mm. 300 meters away.
I wish I could send you photos of the white ones!
Many thanks friends! Very happy thanks to you!
Congratulations on your channel and your excellent videos!
    Big hug!!

Thank you for the detailed review. You've just saved me some ammo and heartache. I just went to collect my new B14 HMR Wilderness in 6.5PRC. Exactly the same as your review rifle the opening is only 0.270" on the muzzle break. I'm awaiting a reply from the distributor. Was a shame to leave the shop without my new toy 😢

6.5PRC was an endeavor for me purchased a Savage 110 High Country the poor thing had issues from the word go and after many dollars spent at a gunsmith and not much of the original rifle being left it finally shoots really well. Launches the 153.5 Berger’s at 3140fps and sets .38 group sizes on hand loads. Long and short of it my shooting partner runs a Bergera HMR B14 and likes it so well he purchased a second rifle. Thanks for the awesome video

That issue with the muzzle brake was a good find. That would be easily overlooked for someone with limited knowledge of muzzle brakes and the tolerances needed. Hopefully Bergara reaches out to anyone that may have bought one of the out of spec rifle/muzzle brakes.

My Handloads with the same bullet and 43 gr of H4350 shoot sub .4 with the brake, and... wait for it... Mid .2s with a Harvester 300 can attached! When I was young and energetic, a 9 or 10 lb rifle was not a big deal. My grandfathers spprterized Mauser 98 with his homemade english walnut stock was 11lb 3oz. Used that for years.
These days, i like to put together light, shorter barreled rifles on Savage 10 and 111 blueprinted actions from Nortland. Also like to use the Howa barreled actions, for hinged floorplate or blind mag builds.
My current mule deer rifle is a Savage M 10 Tactical action, 20 inch threaded barrel, lightweight fiberglass, aluminum bedding block stock, topped with a Vortex Diamondback 2 3-9x40. Very comfortable up to 500 yards with it, weighs 7lb 9oz.
I love watching tacticool road hunters with these ridiculous rifles. Don't see many hill-pounders packing a rifle with 6lbs of unnecessary shit on it.

I bought a B-14 earlier this year in 6.5 Creedmoor. It didn't take but one range session to find the "sweet spot" with my loads. The last FOUR three-shot groups average 3/8" at one hundred yards. There seem to be only two limiting factors as to the accuracy of my particular rifle. 1. It is a lightweight rifle 2. me (my ability to shoot). Maybe I just got lucky with mine, but I highly recommend giving Bergara a try.

Those are good rifles and the 6.5 PRC is a good round. I own a Bergara hunter rifle in .300 Win Mag and have flattened a number of unsuspecting deer and pronghorns with it. But when it comes to 6.5 mania, I'm sold on the 6.5 WBY RPM. I love this round. Flat shooting, more velocity, hard hitting, and laser like accuracy with a wide variety of my custom handloads. I upgraded from the 6.5 CM to the 6.5-284 Norma a while ago and never looked back. Now that I have the WBY, I have the best of all 6.5 possible worlds hands down. Thinking about selling all of my .308 dia rifles except my 30/378 WBY. That's how convinced I am that as far as hunting and shooting goes, I'm in a pretty good place! Guns N Basses Forever!🔫🎸

From what i know and hear about Bergara, they are top notch. I probably would not get this model due to weight, but in a good traditional hunting style. Been wanting a 6.5x55 for years. I have never been a bandwagon guy (see 1898 Krag, Savage 99, Ruger #1, etc), but i just may jump on the Creedmoor bandwagon. It is a very technically proficient cartridge and seems quite effective up through black bear and maybe even moose (if the Swedes do it, so can we).

I have a B14 HMR in 6.5CM, and it's WAY cool. Not something I'd want to carry for any kind of distance or in rough country, though. It's HEAVY, especially for no larger a caliber than a 6.5CM. The rifle he's reviewing starts at 9.5 lbs, according to the Bergara website. Add stuff like optics, bipod, and/or suppressor, and you're in 12-pound territory. Just be sure you know where and how you're going to hunt before you commit to one of these. I just bought a Fierce Mountain Reaper, and for comparison, it starts out three pounds lighter and features a folding stock. MUCH more packable. Both are great rifles -- just with different assumptions. Go carefully, shoot safely, and have fun.

Very belated response, but I have a B-14 Hunter model in 308 Win I purchased recently. I am waiting on delivery of a DNZ Game Reaper scope mount/rings. I have a Burris Fullfield E1 2x7 that I will install and test soon.

I've decided that I'm getting one of these rifles but I'm still not decided on caliber. I'll primarily be using for hunting whitetail and short to medium range target shooting (under 500 yards). I would also like the option to potentially take much larger animals, in case I ever manage to get the opportunity to hunt elk or moose out west. I'm between the .308 win and .300 win mag, just because they have been what I've seen most readily available in stock, but the 6.5 PRC definitely seems interesting.

My first reaction to your ELDM groups is "brass". I started reloading last year and just used the Hornady brass I'd collected and my groups tended to look just like that, factory loaded and hand loaded. 3-4 cloverleafed per group but still an average of .7-1 moa. When I learned more about reloading I quickly observed that the once-fired cases varied a lot in OAL, mouth uniformity and especially flash holes. Sure enough ever 4th or 5th case I deburred had GIANT stalagmites inside the case.
Not to knock hornady, they're doing good work, I'm just saying that's as good as I would ever expect from their factory ammo. Not that I'm telling you anything you don't know either of course. I'd pay 5 bucks more per box and not reload if they fixed that.

I dont think it was the muzzle brake. I believe it was the magneto speed. My groups open up when I have it on. Would love to see the groups with the muzzle brake on without the magneto speed on.

Struggling for consistency on my 2023 6.5 PRC HMR. Broken in with about 100 rounds, using only Hornady 143 ELD-X. During break-in, I was cleaning per guidelines, and it shot well. Since then, been at the range twice, I get MOA first 15 shots or so, but then the fliers start, and they are way off...I stop wasting money after 20 rounds, take it home, clean it, and then it shoots well again. For 10-15 rounds. I'm cooling the barrel, etc...getting a cheap borescope to see if something is off. It can't be the scope mounting, I'm thinking, because, at least, it starts off well each time. Factory muzzle brake. Is anyone seeing these take 150 rounds or something like that to smooth out?

I shoot 6.5 prc in an m18 I picked up for less than 500 dollars. I am not a good enough shot to test a rifle's accuracy but I regularly get .5 moa groups. The trigger ont he M18 is not the best i have felt and the stock leaves some things to be desired but fort he price I am happy.

I had the HMR in 6.5 CM and it performed well, however the firing pin hole in the bolt was so oversized that primers regularly cratered. The problem was especially bad with small primers. I couldn’t justify the cost of bushing the bolt on this gun.
