Thank you Rachel that is so useful, I have always avoided trying as I couldn't follow the instructions in my sewing machine book. Will definitely have a go now.😊
Rachel thank you so much for this. Would you believe I have my machine for nearly 35 years and never knew that. I just thought it was another fancy stitch that I would never use. I really hope that you bring back your Tuesday tutorials as I loved them. So thank you and have a wonderful Christmas and new year 🎊 🎉
Thanks Rachel, I was just finishing a dress which has taken me a month to make so this finished it wonderfully. You have so much knowledge so thanks for sharing. Have a great Christmas with the family. Xx
I am so grateful! Thankyou! I have just bought a Tilly and the Buttons Make it Simple on back order. I really want to make the trousers and jumpsuit. I will be able use this technique on the hems. I could never understand how you would finish the hem or even arrange the fabric to do the blind hem. Your explanation is so clear.
I was aware you could do this but could never quite figure out how you actually do it. Thanks for making what looked to be very complicated so easy to follow. I've come back to sewing in the last couple of years after decades away but always used to hand sew my hems, and didn't mind it. Since my return I've gone with the modern way of just machining, but will love to give this a try.
I have used blind hems, especially on curtains and fabrics where I don't want any stitching to show. These days, I'm a bit lazy and tend to use my cover stitch machine more than a blind hem. Good tutorial.
I've got a favourite skirt pattern, McCalls 7011, and I've made view F four times. There's no way I could face hand sewing the five metres of the circular hem! I've got a bit of arthritis in my hands and it would be impossible. Therefore, the blind hem option is brilliant. I do use the blind hem foot and I didn't realise my newest machine might have a stitch I can use with a standard foot. I'll investigate! Thanks Rachel!
Thank you, Rachel, that was terrific. I only ever tried it with a different foot, didn't like the result, and gave u, opting for hand sewing. (Which I dislike immensely) ❤❤
I don't know why people think blind hems are tricky. Hardest part is setting up the zig zag width so it just barely catches in the fabric. Once you know your machines settings it's super quick. 😊😊
Great tutorial! After 40 years I will finally gave it ago. Thanks
Great explanation and saved to refer back to, thanks for taking the time to explain 😊
So straightforward when you do it! Thanks!

I love this finished nice tutorial. Thank you.
Great explanation! The blind hem stitch has been around almost as long as the zigzag stitch. I have it on my 1957 Singer 401A.
Well done. Thanks
You have no idea how much you've just helped me.
Thank you for this Rachel - I’ve not tried this technique before but I will definitely try this 😊
Best tutorial ever!
Aw fabulous I’ve needed to do this so many times and have never been able to find a decent blind hem tutorial I’m a visual learner so thank you.

You made it look so simple thank you 🫶
It really is simple it’s just getting your head around the seam turn but easy once you’ve done it a few times
@ I am looking forward to having a practice 🤩
I love a blind hem finish but I can guarantee I have to go over parts of the hem as the stitch misses the fabric 🙈. Thank you Rachel
Hi Rachel, this is a fantastic tip, thank you sew much! I’ll definitely be giving this ago!!! Quick question - can you use it on stretch fabric?
You can absolutely yes!
👍❤️
