Stumbled onto this tonight after looking for a new intro for a video I am making on iMovie. Super cool and thanks for posting, it is really adding something different to my vlog. Really love this.
This was by far the best video that I have seen so far.. I just got a GoPro for myself and my daughter so when we are going out she likes for me to record but sometimes her intros can seem a little boring. This was brilliant. As far as a Go Pro goes, should I record in 1080p 30 or 60 frames or at 4k?
Depends on what you are shooting. 60FPS can be used for slomo scenes, so use that for action shots. I rarely shoot 4k video, but if you have a scene where you might want to zoom in post, then it's apropos.
Its funny that this technique is becoming so widely used - the latest Biden TV commercial uses this effect (though I'm sure it wasn't made with iMovie!!)

Also, if you don't want to trim your clip you can adjust the speed of it so it is the same length as the other clip.
You can speed things up no problem, but careful slowing it down as it can get “jerky” if overdone.
