Hitred a production company for a self funded project and could never get what I wanted with the amazing footage, so I decided to learn editing as best I could to better understand what was possible and what I wanted. There are an endless supply of people tutoring iMovie online I created a keynote to collect, rate and learn. I have about a dozen good instructors. This was my third of your offering. I rated this a 12 on a 10 scale. Your ability to edit and pace out th data dispensed separates you from most. Turns out I like editing and went ahead and built a bay in a spare room. Going to stay with iMovie to sort of use it as a version of video storyboarding to present to an editor to explain what I seek. You, brother are much appreciated. If I had cash to throw at you I would, but for now I want to let you know that this particular gave me a sort of optimistic boost.
What a fantastic video your way of teaching is impeccable thank you I have dropped my first vlog using your techniques so far my week 2 vlog is out on Monday and iv used this as my starting graphic it looks great
Thank you so much that you showed us how to change HD to 4K seize in keynote!! I did not know that it was possible and have missed that in the past.👍👍👍
This was so clear and awesome to learn ,I just both Final Cut Pro and Motion plus a few other software but I really don't know where to begin, I should of just mastered iMovie instead of buying those ,hopefully to teach FCPX one day.
I've had Final Cut and Motion for years. They're awesome, but I barely use them, maybe only for really advanced effects. For most TH-cam videos, iMovie (with Keynote) works just fine for me. iMovie really is just a stripped-down version of FCP.
Hey Michael, thanks again for the awesome and helpful content. How do you do the sliding zoom/pull back feature you use in your content? Do you have a tutorial for it already? Thanks Todd
I use ScreenFlow for my tutorials. But, you can do similar types of moves in iMovie using the Ken Burns effect. Check out these videos: th-cam.com/video/Jlu3BDzDHPU/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/s3mugpqwde0/w-d-xo.html
@@MacVideoMagic thank you, much appreciated. I was hoping there was some secret sauce like how you can hold the option button then click to control audio levels. Wishful thinking.😂
Michael, another great tutorial, just small correction, during background removal in Keynote its not necessarily to drag up to 100%. For PNG pictures just click inside, thats enough.
Yeah, I tried that first, but was left with a lot of white artifacts around the edges of the letters. The method I showed gave me the cleanest, fastest removal... in my case.
First Thanks a lot for such amazing videos... I have one issue that I am not able to export image with transperant backround in Keynote... tried a lot Sir... Plz help..... Sachin From Maharashtra India
You mention some other ways to edit using Key Frame. Can you show other ways to create these intros? I can follow your step by steps but still very new at “editing”.
Excellent once again Michael!
Whenever I get stuck with iMovie hacks I come here.
Amazing teaching style.
Just when I thought I could not be more amazed by the Keynote/iMovie combination here we are! Such well presented videos, thoughtfully put together.
Thanks!
I've used this effect twice on my channel. Genius. Thank you for what you do.

Thank you! I know pro-level editors that start their project in iMovie to focus on the storytelling, then move to Final Cut to finish.
You love the old Ken Burns 🙂
Love the way you instruct. Very easy to follow and very concise explanations.
Wow! Awesome!

It almost has an Apocalypse Now feel to it. Thanks for all the great tips Michael, I just completed one of these titles 😎
I’m not a new iMovie user but I learned like 3 incidental things about iMovie watching you do this. So helpful, so well done
Awesome! Thank you!
These videos are superb. So clear and concise. Been using iMovie for years and never knew a lot of these tricks and features. Many thanks.
Very well explained. Thanks

Wow. You have been my go-too to learn IMovie as I just started to use it a few weeks ago. Thank you for making things easy.

No "Easy Button", unfortunately.

One question. Can a video file be saved to work on a Windows PC?
What version of keynote were you using? Some of my available selections are slightly different.
Btw I am on 12.0
Keynote version 14.1

Can this be imported into FCPX?
Yes.
The fact that your computer is in dark mode is throwing me off. Or am i confused 😕 I mean, I am... but 🤦🏾♂️
You can do it. 👊🏽
That’s really cool! Thanks for showing us this.🪴
Thanks for watching!
