  • Remember when the Toronto blackout happened, and the city spent weeks with the lights out? If you become an electrician, you can make sure it doesn’t happen again. Centennial’s Electrical Engineering Technician program gives you the ability to take on the role through a program that combines the college experience with on-the-job training from an employer. The program will allow you to train as an apprentice in the electrician trade while obtaining a two-year diploma. You will obtain a thorough grounding in electrical engineering sciences and skills, including electrical circuits, maintenance of electrical instruments or devices, and operation of electrical motors and power transmission as you take part in an eight-month paid co-op work placement. Centennial College’s Career Services and Co-operative Education department staff will work closely with you to ensure your co-op work experience is as meaningful as possible.
