    Ivo. I like using mono leader jigging for walleye with my braid out there. Like 2-4’ long

    I'm glad you actually call them walleye. In Canada, it's a widespread mistake to call these pickerel. They're completely different fish. Most Canadian fishermen don't even know what a real pickerel is, even life long, experienced fishermen make the mistake. It's in the restaurants too, you'll never see walleye on the menu, it's always says pickerel, but it's not actually pickerel, it's walleye.

      I’m Canadian, I hate when people say pickerel. Pickerel are part of the pike family, why people call walleye pickerel I’ll never understand.

    Hey Ivo, what type of rod and reel are you using? It looks like a good setup. By the way, I really enjoy the channel and learn a lot by watching the videos. Thanks and keep up the good work!

    It’s interesting that you use such a long leader. I do a lot of rod-in-hand trolling with a slow death rig behind a bottom bouncer. I use fireline with a 3-6’ fluoro leader behind the bouncer. I have to use a pretty stiff medium power fast action rod to hold the 2oz bouncer. The result is a rig without much give and I’m sure I’ve lost fish because of it. I tried switching to a slower action rod but couldn’t manage the heavy bouncers. Ivo, what do you suggest to help improve my rig so it has some “give” when fighting fish? Any advice would be appreciated. By the way, love the sting nose so I’ll definitely have to get a peanut.

      ...in a case like that, keep your existing rod, but use a much longer leader line, such as 15 ft - you will notice a difference :)

    What net is that? Would like smaller net to manage when solo fishing.

    Isn't better to use monofilament if you think of stretching?? Carbon leader hardly stretch while mono stretch well.

    Hay Evo, what month was that and are using a tiny swivel that will slip through your guides with a 8 ft leader?

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Eric - filmed in July last year and I was not using swivels - just a single snap to my Stingnose, Peanut bunker :)

      I use the Alberto knot when running braid/fluoro. Slick, streamlined, shoots through guides like a breeze👍
