- We're here on Lake Erie fishing my perfect walleye condition: 10 km/hr winds giving the perfect drift and that perfect "walleye chop" on the water. We're using the 1 1/2oz Stingnose Peanut Bunker jigging spoons and jigging in about 55' water.

Thanks for the great info Ivo! I really love your channel and ordered some spoons so I'm ready when the opertunity presents itself, i dont have a boat, so waiting for the head boats to go out. The two perch headboats going out of Erie are now walleye drift boats!!

Love catching Erie walleye but have never jigged for them, looks like it takes a lot more finesse then trolling,does look fun tho!

This morning I went fishing and I finally caught my two first catfish. Both were channel cats and I caught them on shrimp
2 days ago I caught my first Catfish. It was also a channel. It was young, so I let it go.

You said that you hooked your second walleye with one hand because you were on a phone-call. It made me think of a time that I saw a guy with his rod bent way over on the ottawa river and in his other hand he was holding his phone up to his ear. I figured he had a snag, but when he hung up, he started reeling and a minute later landed a 20 pound channel cat!

Best option Lucas is to use a bobber and fish suspended - or use top water lures - or, use weighted spoons or spinners and count down seconds then begin retrieving before you get too deep, avoiding the timber or weeds - good luck👍🎣🎣

Will the bunker work on trout?
I share your love of jigging for the sport of it. Trolling is effective but just kinda boring. Recently I saw a video of people going out with a charter to bottom fish for halibut, and the deck hand was doing evertyhing: setting up the rigs, hooking up the bait, handing them the rod for them to drop the hook, etc. What's even worse is that they are using an electric powered reel, so when they get a fish on, they just stand there pushing a button for a few minutes to reel up the fish. No fight or even just acknowledging the fish's response at all. Playing a video game would require more skill and be more fun.

I don’t have a walleye rod I have an ugly medium heavy 6 foot rod is that ok to use
For them heavier jigs in a chop like this your rod would be just fine.! My son uses same as you n does fine.J.P

In Michigan where he is fishing, the limit is 5 Walleye, and they must be at least 15 inches.
