- This is a relatively short video illustrating my creation of a side-bending jig for constructing Appalachian Mountain dulcimers. I made the video to accompany the Houghton Mifflin 2nd grade Science textbook, Unit 2 -- Technology and Our World. As a woodworker and dulcimer builder, I wanted to show my 2nd grade students the Design Process (as introduced in their textbook) in a real-world application.
Very neat and ingenious! Im not joking when I say thanks for explaining so my second grade mentality could understand it! I really like the simplicity of this and the way it functions. Thanks for sharing this!!!!!
Well, did it work?
How long were the aluminum poles?
The aluminum tubes were 6" long.
