Scaretale needs to be understood in a larger context. It is off the Imaginaerum album. Nightwish also released a movie called Imaginaerum. Scaretale in my opinion was written for a specific scene. Annette and Marko's singing style in this song are reflections of the characters they played in that scene.

Tarja was one of the founders of the band.
I like Anette. She is different, yes, but her style inspired Tumos to write some great songs, and her albums were commercially successful. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, which I always try and respect. I hope you find more enjoyment with Floor.

Here is the 2nd episode, and so fast..
I understand that Anette's voice is not to your taste, and this is consistent with your first reaction to "Bye Bye Beautiful".
Obviously, there is a big difference between Anette's and Tarja's voice, and that was the decision of the other members of the band when they chose her, because they didn't want to give the impression that they were looking for "a copy of Tarja", but they wanted a radical change of style. In my opinion, this had at least two negative consequences, namely that Anette became the target of part of the fans dissatisfied with the change, and that she adapted quite hard to the songs from the band's old repertoire, consecrated by Tarja's vocal style. On the other hand, the two albums recorded with Anette were a great success, contributing to the consolidation of the band's popularity.
    I can't wait for episode 3 :)

Tarja could never reconcile with the fact that she wasn't the centrepiece of the band. That was always going to be Tuomas, not her. Go watch some of her more recent solo stuff and you'll see a much more relaxed, happy singer. She wanted Nightwish to be her backing band and that was never going to happen. I'll watch Tarja's solo stuff and I've bought her solo music, but I no longer watch any of her Nightwish stuff as I can't stand the attitude she displays. She is a solo artist, not a bandmate like Anette and Floor.
About Anette, she had the talent to be the permanent Nightwish singer as she had the vocal ability. However, for reasons known only to her, she made no attempt to metal up her delivery. In fact she went in the opposite direction, becoming more poppy and jazzy live vs. her albums. If she had tried to become more metal in her delivery, she would have won over the fans. Her firing from the band was over Floor being her temp replacement during her mat leave. She knew Floor was a metal singer and that the fans would prefer Floor to her. She was fired as a result of that face off.
If we listen to Anette's more recent work with Dark Element, we hear her alternating between a darker voice vs. a nasal tonality. That darker tone is quite good and if she had used it in Nightwish, we wouldn't be here having this discussion. When she goes full poppy nasal, well it gets irritating.
Floor is the ultimate team player and she does what the music requires.

No Tarja is great with her band members now, and gives them so much time to shine. Some of them have been with her for more than 15 years now. The problem wasn't that she wanted attention, but I think she likes to be able to tour the way she feels most comfortable with -- her priority has always been keeping her body = instrument healthy. So, shorter tours, no smoking, venues with rooms where she can change and warm up her body etc.
She has that now and that's why she's so relaxed and happy on stage :)
When she was with the band they were all in their 20s and partying a lot in between, which isn't morally bad! But because she didn't participate she became isolated quite quickly. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@karadenizin-kizi The dudes definitely were not considerate of her in the early days, with their excessive partying. They have admitted as much.
Around the midpoint of her time with the band, things were pretty smooth and people were getting along. Then Marcelo happened and it all went south.
Tarja has admitted to constantly needing attention and her behaviour onstage shows it. She wanted to be the centre of things and that wasn't going to happen in Nightwish. Going solo solved that issue.

@@billattercliffe8655 ohh interesting, like, i've seen and read a lot of knterviews with her but i've never seen anything about her minding not to get attention or anything like that. she seems like a good team player whenever she shares the stage with others. even in those days with Marko she always seemed so happy to perform with him and said he was experienced and that it helped her as a singer to have another singer with her. but I don't know her personally so I wouldn't know :) That's just been the impression I got

It looked she was fine sharing a stage with everyone. Each member of the band was able to shine. She sang backup for Marko with a smile on her face. I didn't get that impression at all.
