You can never recapture the feeling yourself but there is something vicariously satisfying about seeing someone else having that moment of revelation.

The fun thing about these "look back" videos (aside from your obvious discomfort) is that they allow YOU to become US and sit in the seat of the viewer. Perspective is a valuable thing, and I'm glad the experience was at least somewhat positive for you. Btw, would you consider reacting to the band Therion? They're the biggest symphonic metal bands right next to Nightwish and Epica, and probably have the most versatile repertoire out of the three, I'm sure you'd have plenty of fun discovering their work (and we'd have plenty of fun listening to you analysing their songs)
Oh, dude, don't beat yourself up too much. I have NEVER watched my reactions back. I cannot stand my voice, how I stumble over my words, and am highly uncomfortable in front of a camera. So, I know if I watch them back, I'm going to be highly unimpressed. Now that I'm starting to do some editing, I have no choice, and it's highly unnerving to watch them back... I feel ya, but you're a billion times more camera friendly than I am, so... there's that! :p
