    I love that I grow all of what's on this list and use them for cooking. I'm finding that having these on hand feels very satisfying when added to a meal. Thanks for the knowledge!

      @@TheRipeTomatoFarms I'm somehow sure you've done it before, but maybe a video (or update) about basic growing indoors for cooking? I started with growing a few spices, but also now do spring onions, tiny Tim's, and garlic. I constantly harvest, and replant them when needed. Your content has definitely inspired and helped get it right. I find i don't want to overdo it because of time and have to make choices about is right to have on hand. Even that part is fun and interesting, but im sure different for everyone. Thx again and keep up the great work. 👍

    I do something similar for herb germination, except I use single ply toilet paper or tissue instead of a paper towel. When the seeds germinate, they break right through the paper, which breaks down into the top layer of soil. That way I don't have to worry about removing the paper towel.

    I love Basil. I’m looking forward to planting here and that I moved to Fort Myers. It’s been pretty cold surprisingly here so I’m gonna have to start indoors and then move things outdoors when the weather is more consistently warm. Thanks 🙏🏾 for sharing 💕

      Congratulations on your move! I'm on the east coast of Florida on the border between 10a & 10b. Year round gardening! You can pollinate your tomato blossoms with a tiny, soft paintbrush. Ialso pollinate Key Lime & Persian Lime blossoms this way. Good Luck with your gardening this year. Remember to dbl-ck the different planting times for down here! Potatoes won't produce tubers here after the ground temperature hit 8⁹⁷

    I’m thinking of cleaning my shed and use it as greenhouse! I’m tired of all my herbs dying from too hot weather and too cold weather. Maybe add a light fixture so I can see what I’m doing 😊👍 cuz I like doing things at night also, thank you Jeff this is perfect indoor plant ideas for me! 👍👩‍🌾😊♥️ oh yes I can imagine doing all my plants there 😊

      @@TheRipeTomatoFarms it has like an open skylight but it’s cloudy from sun and rain, made of plastic so I think maybe run an electric like extension cord outdoor and just have a switch on and off or use all my Christmas lights 😂😂😂 as a source for heat. Great ideas?

    I’m in the same area as you and I can back you up on the cold hardiness of cilantro. I had some growing in the fall outside a few years ago and it made it through the whole winter, snow and all! Wouldn’t have thought it would make it with those soft stems

      @@TheRipeTomatoFarms I don’t remember exactly when it sprouted, it was a while ago now. I remember I had bought a little pot of cilantro and I never got around to planting them. They of course went to seed so I just decided to bury the whole small plant in one of my raised beds 😝 Then it all sprouted late in the season very densely and made it through the winter. Some type of cover like a milk jug or something probably would have been perfect to keep it clean from the splashing rain on the soil.

    I watched your video on starting Dill indoors..I've done that and its thriving beautifully but its in seed starter mix in the container. Should I break it apart and pot it up individually in other planters?

    Greetings 🍃 Waiting for my Rosemary seeds to pop up in our south facing kitchen window 🪟 I have sprouted Chamomile; Parsley (Curly & Italian flat leaf) outside in amall garden house starters. And WoW, I Love Arugula! I agree it is an herb. From Long Beach ⛱️ Cali Zone 10b

    Love 1-4 and I do grow them indoors. 5 is a no go for me, I'm in the soap camp.

    Love this video. Great infor. And loved how you illustrated a newbie like me watching my seedlings and watering them constantly! Im guilty, lol. Question, so I transplanted my cilantro in a pot that does not have drain holes in it. Can I transplant them again without killing the seedlings? They were already kind of weak as they were getting leggy, and only 2 or 3 were starting to get their true leaf. Please give some guidance on this.. Thank you in advance!

      I think you can Kin if you can move the entire soil profile as a block without disturbing the plants. That way, they won't even know they've been transplanted. Cilantro also does grow fast enough that you COULD get away with no drainage and careful watering.....

    What is your remedy for septorial disease on my flat leaf parsley and will it survive in a vermicomposting compost bin?

      Mostly just airflow Shirley. A peroxide spray can work sometimes as well.....

      Oh for sure! It gets planted exactly like cilantro.... About half an inch deep, pretty densely. Keep moist and warm and it'll sprout within a week. Give it as much light as possible and don't over water. Harvest when there's at least 2-3 sets of true leaves.

      Yes, leaf by leaf. It does branch a bit more so you can take the top shoot and the stem can still live.....but I sow mine in groups so if I lose a stem or two, I hardly notice. Cheers!

      Under when first planted so you don't blast the seeds everywhere. But you can always water from underneath or wicking-style....its actually a great way to water plants.
