Manufacturing just means your people work in terrible conditions while the environment is polluted and resources exploited. We should be using our advantage as the entry to sub-saharan Africa to create a software service industry and leverage new tools. There's no reason we should restrict African labour to being a slave to making products for the west (like China was) that they don't want to make when we can elevate ourselves to work with, compete and beat them.
