We had record economic growth until around 2001 (9/11 destroyed global markets) and even grew after until 2008 financial crises'( and even then the strong economic policy of the reserve bank meant we actually got through it better than other comparable economies). The corruption of the ANC has nothing to do with markets.

EFF is a radical left Marxist party while DA is a more moderate one alongside the ANC.

All I can say is that if the ANC goes into a coalition with MK and the EFF, Home Affairs better jack up their services and appoint additional staff to handle the barrage of emigration applications that would inevitably follow (like we saw after the NHI Bill was passed), and businesses closing shop to move oversees, with the resultant further depletion of the tax base in this country. The ANC is not interested in long-term sustainability, only short-term gain. Soon there will be nothing left to steal.

There can not be any negotiation with the DA. It is time for South Africa to invest in the people of South Africa. For the past 30 years, the government has been doing exactly what investors told them to do, and in that time, the condition of the people have gotten far worse.
However, the ANC did not create poverty in the black community when they won the election 30 years ago. Poverty in the black community is a consequence of apartheid.

@@blacknile1354 You realise how investment works? You buy shares in something and that needs to GO UP or improve for them to get back a ROI. The education problem is clear because people are so uneducated they don't understand this. If they invested in our shipping companies, eskom, telecoms etc HOW would investors benefit from these companies getting worse and worse? How are they benefiting from decreased productivity because of Eskom? How are they benefitting from a decrease in talent with skilled South AFricans leaving? Education is crippled because there's countless cases of money stolen in state departments and schools not having books. And the government constantly lowing the bar for passes so they can say people are passing. Universities even had to create entrance exams because they weren't getting students are the bare minimum competency. NO business wants that. It makes no sense. RDP housing has failed since the time of Mbeki and Zuma even. Again makes no sense to say any investors wants a country that's unstable and has mass homelessness? Why would investors want to invest in that country? It's theft and corruption, from the time of Mbeki and the arms deal, through to Zuma and Nkandla and eskom collapsing and now Cyril just closing his eyes to the corruption still in the party. It's easy to blame external things and not look at what our leaders are doing.
Heck if you WANT to see "what investors want' look at Western Cape and Cape Town. There's problems with their model, yes, gangsterism is still there, poverty is still there. But they've created a hub for safety and OPPORTUNITY in Cape Town that means people from those areas can see a future and something to work for. I didn't even vote DA but it's hard to deny economically they are getting it right in comparison to the state of things in Johannesburg and especially Durban.
And look at the reality if the CURRENT global economy. China is moving away from manufacturing, India skipped it and went into high tech software services industry. Manufacturing just means your people work in terrible conditions while the environment is polluted and resources exploited. We should be using our advantage as the entry to sub-saharan Africa to create a software service industry and leverage new tools. There's no reason we should restrict African labour to being a slave to making products for the west (like China was) that they don't want to make when we can elevate ourselves to work with, compete and beat them.

I've realized now that people aren't making decisions to save South-Africa. This is not about South-Africa anymore. This is about power and greed. Let's look at the EFF, Malema says he wants a strong economy, and yet in the same breath he want to open the borders. That will kill our economy. Zuma was discharge from his presidency for crippling South-Africa and yet people voted for him. That why it's clear now. This is not to save a country, it's about power and greed.

Best SA foreign policy is based on building pragmatic relationships in SA’s interests and consistent advocacy of human rights and constitutionalism. There is no real reason it would be difficult to find common ground on this basis.

ANC coalition with the DA its practically a non-starter under any prevailing political circumstance. After a hard won freedom against apartheid there shouldn't any room for selling the country back to white people under whatever formation. ANC, MK, EFF and IPF must consider with the strongest conviction of their conscious self correction by using the opportunity to unite and reconcile. Each of the party leader would emerge as the bigger winner for the people of South Africa and forever they will be remembered for as selfless individuals with great pride. These four parties people are from the same constituency and are only divided by the differences of their leaders. They all share the same DNA despite the challenges experienced as result of leadership discomfort over the years.
