What will South Africa's government look like after ANC thumping? | DW News

  • South Africans are waiting to see what their next government will look like, following last week's elections. But one thing is certain, the ruling African National Congress has lost its majority. For the first time since the end of apartheid, the party will need to make a deal with the opposition to form a coalition government.
The result was a major blow for the ANC. Since 1994 it secured more than 60 percent of the vote in every election except one. That's until this year when it could only gain 40 percent.
And it appears the public disatisfaction was not just with the ANC but with the political process as a whole.
Voter turnout has been on a gradual decline in recent years but this year saw the lowest ever in South Africa’s 30-year democratic history. But President Cyril Ramaphosa insists there's much to celebrate.

Unfortunately, the MK party is the same thing as the EFF party... their leaders are all people who fought inside the ANC and left to start their own thing. (Malema & Zuma)
The only place that works in SA is Cape Town, run by the DA. The others have never done nothing for South Africans, they make all sorts of promises but never follow through.
The low voting is due to apathy and people feeling there is no one worthy to vote for. Or ANC voters abstaining to show their unhappiness.

Julias Malema said 5 years ago, they will build a school. He also said that if come the next election (this past one 2024), if the EFF have not built that school, people should not vote for them. The school Malema refers to, have not been built, no ground have been broken, no agreements have been reached. In all that time, the EFF failed to build one single school.

Should that land be given to the Zulu colonisers that came from central Africa and killed the natives and whites of south Africa? Or should it go to the natives that deserve it and the whites that beat the zulus in war and purchased land of the zulus and natives. Not to mention, work is more important, but are we just going to give land to anyone, or to people who knows how to farm that land.
What about land purchased from the bank, will that just be given away?
