Ah, thank you Kathie 🙏 I did wonder if I was the only one who believed this so I was a little nervous about putting it out into TH-cam land! Kim x

For some reason, this won't let me add a separate comment so I have to reply to you! I agree. Kim is so clear and answers those small questions. It's often hard to get an answer to these! I'm just quilting my first quilt and am just doing an echo as much easier. I don't really like stitch in the ditch anyway as I reckon it'd compromise the thread in the seam you're stitching on. The needle would have to pierce the other thread at least some of the time.
      Anyway, thanks Kim 😊👍

This is super interesting! I hand quilt everything and it makes stitch in the ditch super easy because the straight lines are drawn for you. But I’m sure I’d fail miserably if I was quilting on a machine.

I agree - I think for hand quilting, stitch in the ditch would be very easy because you can adjust each stitch. For machine quilting though, not at all because the machine will want to go in a dead straight line and the 'ditches' never are. Let me know how you get on if you do try by machine; it would be very interesting to hear how you 'feel' the difference. Kim.
