    Brooksy great vid as always. Like most fishos prob ain't keen on sharing locations, but maybe a vid on what you look for in spots for different fish. Obviously there is a lot of fishing with no fish but some hints and tips to look for would be good for us starting out in big land based fishing. Cheers bud

    Hello, I have an really importante questions for you, because I watched on the video you have the three rods is Zenaq Tobizo; Which one will you recommend me for coast and boat? Because I really want a next level for tunas and I am thinking to buy new heavy equipment for that.
    Tobizo TC80-200G with Daiwa Saltiga 14000 XH? 8 length.
    Tobizo TC83-150G with Daiwa Saltiga 14000 XH? 8’3 length.
    Do you know exactly the weight of the both rods?

    Brooksy do you use the tobizo TC80-50g at home off the rocks or do you prefer something longer? I'm tore between that rod and the Muthos mid game 9'6. What do you recommend?

  • @gavsfishing5461
    @gavsfishing5461 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Definately wana save up for a tabizo, gona take me a while, $1200 nz, i fish from rocks for kingfish on banks peninsula with a Shakespear uglystick Black Tiger 1484-002 2.1m/ 7 ft, this rod cost me $140 nz, and has landed a 30kg king fish with a Diawa emcast plus fishing real- this is old gear tho- more than 10 years- but there are some good cheaper options for people on a tight budget... I pay a mortgage on a solo tradie income, but will be saving for this set up... I'm frothin to get to the barrier one day and land a big gt! love your guys videos, thanks for the tips Jonny1

    Hey Brooksy, could you make a similar video where you're showing us your smaller lures for when you're fishing from the surf for reef fish or just smaller fish... I think that you should do videos where you go for surf fishing mostly - I know it's not as exciting or intense as GT's but for a lot of people smaller fish are attainable goals - big fish are really hard to come by, lol

    • @JonnyBrooksFishing
      @JonnyBrooksFishing  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah I can do that for sure... but I disagree about the big fish being hard to come by... kinda feels like ur admitting defeat before u have started haha! if ur willing to go that bit further and put in the time there is all the big fish in the world waiting for ya! go get them mate!

    nice video, but two things: a 18000 stella(or new Saltiga) with a 20000 spool is a 20000 cause the spool is the only difference.
    The other thing what is more important: you can use extreme heavy drag and even pump against 20-30kg(depending on the person) with every rod no matter how it works cause you don't have to use the rod, jusz a rod to line angle around 180 degree, of course you have to cast far enough, without getting tired but for fighting it's not nessesary, I tried it with a

    great upload; cheers Brooksy! Quick question: how do you feel the switch from 10' Defi Muthos to 8' Tobizo for land based game? How do you see the difference in rod length?

    • @JonnyBrooksFishing
      @JonnyBrooksFishing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey mate, I honestly don't really notice it that much... both have their place. I think the shorter rod for GT fishing is a must, more power and a lot easier on ur body.
      almost tuna time again so will definitely be getting the muthos out again.. light lures, and a lot of waves require a longer rod for sure.

    Hey Brooksy, rod question after a bit of a Morningtide and co viewing blitz . You used to go with much longer rods off the bricks, Zanak Defi Muthos 10 footer etc., but now about 8 foot. Is that because you've moved more towards targeting GTs rather than tuna etc, and are interested more in power rather than casting distance?

    • @JonnyBrooksFishing
      @JonnyBrooksFishing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      both cast pretty similar actually... but yeah coming into tuna time so I'm gonna be using the longer rod a fair bit more I think.

    What kind of action does the 150 and 200 Tobizo have? I got a Ripple that I thought would be able to work poppers but it just doesn't. Way too soft at the tip. Can hardly work a 45g Chuggy. Do the Tobizos have a good solid stiff tip?

      tobizo is definitely a allrounder. both poppers n stickballs. up to 150gr with the 83/150 and 200gr max with 80/200.

    When packing down do you dose your splits and hooks with inox/lanox. Keeps mine from rusting and doesn’t put fish off biting from my experience and keeps my hooks fresh and sharp no rust

    • @JonnyBrooksFishing
      @JonnyBrooksFishing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      good point mate.defintely the smart thing to do.
      I usually soak all my lures and hooks in a bucket of water with a bit of detergent or something then hang them to dry. inox probably the better option though. nice one
