- I say this all the time (and my friends/family make fun of me for it): you've gotta give fragrances a full wearing to get the full picture!
I've done a video about this in regards to scent; this time we're talking about performance.
I've prejudged the performance of countless fragrances by smelling them up close on my skin (effectively shoving them up my nose for several hours), and I've learned how ridiculous it is. This video was created to help you realize the same absurdity, and to share 5 fragrances that I discovered were stronger (for me) than they initially seemed.

B-612 is one of my favorite! And it’s a beast om me! Can’t understand people that says this one is weak!

I think you're absolutely correct. I'll use my Dior Sauvage Elixir and Royal Crown Sultan as examples. When I first got them, I found myself spraying more on throughout the day. After watching a video of yours showing how to apply it, and talking about olfactory fatigue, I started wearing it differently, and detecting it longer. Yesterday, I put two small sprays behind my neck, one on each side, and one in front on my chest under my shirt. I had my decant ready with me throughout the day for when the fragrance subsided. It never subsided. Those two small sprays in the back, and the one under my shirt in the middle of my chest, was enough for the entrie day, and I could even detect it after I showered and a bit into the night. It easily lasted 12 hours strong at arms length. I had the same experience with my RC Sultan.

The neck/behind the ear area is perfect. Warm enough to push out the fragrance, and moisturized enough to retain the juice on your skin (assuming you have healthy skin).
I don't like front of chest.
@@bmoneybby Doesn’t work for everyone. The heat on the chest can burn the juice quickly, or if you sweat on your chest, that can be a problem too.
it is funny that if you add to your clothes, you can still smell it later.. but in the skin you cant
maybe because the smell is not exact the same?

Got vanilla oud this week and gave it a full wearing yesterday. FIRE!!!!!! I got wafts all day and compliments in the 8th hour. No complaints. Also this was a blind buy based on you and Ross’ reaction to it. Definitely one of my best pick ups so far this year. It’s battling with Kajal Lamar

I agree with you on VERTUS fragrances. I got Sole Patchouli recently (Patchouli and Iris blended so beautifully). The day I got it I applied 1 spray on my wrist to bed. Oh my God! It became so strong and overwhelming I had to leave the bedroom and sit in the sitting room (to give it more breathing space) for about 1 hour before coming back to bed again. It was still there in the morning! Beautiful fragrance. Beautiful presentation. I'm looking forward to getting VANILLA OUD. Thanks for bringing these to our attention. Have a great day, J. C.

I have to be extremely careful with Ambroxan-heavy frags because it can make me go noseblind incredibly fast. There are several blue frags that are heavy on the Ambroxan and I can only smell them in the air as I spray them on. If I go in for a whiff, it's like they're not even there.

As per usual the scents u feature r way outside the youtube norm. Its awesome though. I just picked up my first niche sample pack. Couple months back u featured Eight & Bob Egypt. I was like Eight & Bob what the heck?! I liked the quirky name though. So yea anyway Im awestruck by this brand now. Got 6 samples including Egypt n theyre all a step above my designer stuff. Im gifting away alot of my collection. Settling into a smaller but way more unique and enjoyable selection. Thankyou for the window to these more special fragrances n all the insight on collecting in general. 👌

Recently went to ScentXplore and smelled Vanilla Oud. Really liked it, in fact I purchased a whole bottle. Looking forward to giving it a full wearing.
Absolutely love Nishane B612. I treat it as a ‘special fragrance’. Sure does smell potent and lasts long on my skin. Getting whiffs of it hours later every time I wear it.
I grabbed a 5mL sample of Vanilla Oud after you gave it a 10/10 😂 this stuff is loud and has a thick sillage to it. Have only been doing forearm testing since it hasn’t been cold enough yet on my side of the US to test drive it. A different type of oud then what I’ve experienced in other fragrances. The apple note comes off prominently. This fragrance almost smells like Crown Royal Apple whiskey. 😂
Great video Justin. I remember you saying when you sprat let the scent be in the air, let it come to you & what a diff that made in my sampling. This falls right in line with that. I too bought samples of Vanilla Oud after the 10/10, giving to 1 brother & 1 son and will share this tip + to spray light.

I really need to try vanilla oud! B-612 is still my favorite Nishane fragrance, my bottle is over half empty and I will need a new bottle before the end of 2023. 😆

Nishane b-612 has incredible performance. GREAT opening and mid. Dry down is a little too soapy/detergent-esque but its forgivable. Totally original modern Fougere. 8-10 hours easy. Good video. Pushing against performance complaints and loss of sensitivity problems. That kid voice doing the "um, um, ah, uh" is h i la r i o u s every time.

Wow, the timing. I just got a sample of Vanilla Oud, damn it’s strong! I’m really enjoying it though. I prefer it over Oud for Greatness so far. Got them on either arm.
I'm still warming up to Oud for Greatness (Glory, actually. I have the knock-off 🤣).
@@deucedaprodeucahahahaha. I find it’s overhyped, at least in my taste. I got a ton of samples of Oud fragrances. So far my top 2 are Vanilla Oud & The Other Side of Oud by Atkinsons. These two really stand out to me.
Oh man, oh man, oh man. Look at those stills around 0:33. You could totally beat all horror-movie serial killer lunatics with that, even showing the hair would not make it worse. Beware the _Sniffer_ - he can smell you miles away! (And in the end gets beaten by the last surviving girl who is genius enough to use metric instead.) I bet you could even do the soundtrack.
I want to try Vanilla Oud pretty badly. But I think I did the same thing with Lost Alice from Masque Milano. Just tried it again, and I'm smelling it around me now. The first time it seemed to disappear almost immediately. Maybe it just needed to macerate, or maybe I was just killing my nose? Who knows, but now it's floating around me nicely.

I go nose blind to vanilla oud very quickly; which is a shame because it’s so lovely.

After a shower, I spray the fragrance in area behind the knee 1st to experience how it comes up to me in the air👌🏾
B-612 not a big fan but it’s alright. On the other hand Vertus Vanille oud it’s all that. Longevity is very strong all day for me. 12:14

Me too. In fact I was disappointed and almost regretting the purchase. Should have sticked to CDNIM! Anyway, I'm giving it time. May be I will try it again in a few months. But for now, it's a miss.

6 hours is fine.. no complaints.. but 4 hours is bad

So another day I used in the morning.. then after 8 hours I had an appointment open doors.. I applied again and my wife said I “bath” on perfume hahahah
So maybe after the 8 hours it was still pumping and I did not think so…
I couldn't stop laughing at the line "..you'll be surprised at how long they last when you're not shoving them up your nose, because we don't spray them up your nostrils."

Some things are just weak though.
Life can be much more nuanced than "light = bad" and "strong = good".
@Justin Copeland strength is always a positive, weakness never so. Light ≠ weak if it's persistent.
@@AB-bw5yc hm…absolutes. “Always” and “never”. Just remember that is simply opinion and preference, which you’re entitled to.
But weakness is not inherently a bad thing for me. With hundreds of fragrances, weak ones allow me to easily enjoy more than one per day.
