I just bought the same axle back kit for mine(because of your video)from maryland speed and they had a special for $150 more got a cold air intake also.Sounds great.I'm gonna put mine on this weekend.Probably get X pipe later.Thanks for posting!
Thanks. It was fairly easy to do to and considerable less to mod the factory exhaust then a full cat back system at this time. Sounds even better when you are churning through the gears, especially when down shifting!
I got the Axle back from Maryland speed for $360 and the x-pipe through eBay on a best offer for $71.50. Then picked up dynomax 4 clamps through Summit for another ~$45. Took me about 1.5 hours to put it in with watching my boys too...
@theSScamarokid I have since swapped to LT's and high flow cats and the popping only happens in certain situations as opposed to every time I let off the throttle.
@gibsonbaby131 - it was actually really easy. I used a lift to do it, but you could do it easy enough on stands too. The instructions are straight forward. I ended up cutting the driver side pipe off approx 3/4" shorter than the instructions said so that I could get the pipe to align properly.
Not sure which cold air intake they are offering...but in my opinion Vararam is making the best system out there. They are slowly ramping up production....with somewhere around back orders in the pipeline 300 but it will be worth the wait. They have a 100% money back offer on the amount of HP & TQ you will see with their unit....others don't even touch those claims! Enjoy your new setup, it sounds SWEET!
No I didn't have any issues at all. Key is to center the pipe in the opening and clamp the connection tightly. The unit uses the factory support brakets too, so it is really not bad to install. Two tips...use silicone spray on the rubber mounts when removing and installing the supports...makes it much easier. Also, cut the pipe off a little longer than specified so that you can trim back as needed. If you cut too much off at first, you will have issues matting the two pieces together. :-)
@gibsonbaby131 - it was pretty easy. the instructions were straight forward and the clamps provided were nice. The system uses the factory hangers and aligned very easy.
I have the muffler delete right now much like your first video, why do I get decelerate popping and you don't? My popping is like gun shots...I Love the sound! Did you tune it some how?
Old comments... but this was amazing, if you still have the vehicle, is there any chance you could record it in a higher quality with a high quality sound recorder??? You have single handedly convinced me to go with Magnaflow over, B&B, and the ATAK
The reason is that my exhaust manifolds and cats were not up to full temp. The exhaust is actually igniting unspent fuel in the exhaust tubes via the fact that when the fuel management system shuts off fuel in the deceleration mode, it allows oxygen to move into the exhaust (since there was not combustion cycle) which mixes with the unspent fuel, then ignites due to the retained heat of the manifolds/cats.
It pops about as much as the normal exhaust does...GM is shutting down injectors when you are decellerating to save fuel...and when you do that the extra oxygen in the exhaust ignites the unspent gases to make that popping.... One thing that does help with it is to go with long tub headers and high flow CATS...just did that on mine and that does help a bunch since the exhaust pipes are not near as hot as the cast iron manifolds/factory cats..
@pfcfaflik As "mufreq" says, additional hp & tq, due to more equal exhaust pulses between left and right side exhaust tubes. Firing order, bank-to-bank, of (American) cross-plane-crank v8's: L-R-L-L-R-R-L-R. X-pipe tends to equalize the L-L-R-R sequence, improving flow and scavenging, thus improving hp & tq. Side-effect is less loping sound of engine, more like flat-plane-crank v8 (Ferrari type v8) or 180-degree header arrangement (original Ford GT-40 type exhaust).
@Scorpion7substance - it does a much better job of equalizing the exhaust pressures between the banks. It is worth about 10 HP and tones down the exhaust about 1/2 as much.
Yeah, they could have done a lot better..but I think they did this by design for a couple reasons....they didn't want the Camaro and Vette to have the same HP ratings....probably thought the market segment was a bit older due to pricing on the V8's, therefore a general desire to have a quieter car, and lastly....after market sales for modifications.... What's interesting the LS3 cars have a straight through pipe (with some holes in the pipe) going through the muffler, still to quiet for most!
Did you ever get an answer? This is the sound I would LOVE to get on my V6. I have yet to find an exhaust that doesn't make it sound like AIDS. This has to be an SS.
but it was the return of the camaro. they should have gone all out but i guess they knew what they were doing. another problem with them is that theyre WAY to heavy too. they weigh almost 4000lbs!!! straight pipes with holes? what!!! haha. thats different. they should sound like a monster! but they dont =(
the 4th gen camaros destroyed the 98-10 mustangs from the factory but the mustang sold more. same thing now...camaro is slower stock but wins in sales. so, what are you recalling????
I had this done to my car and I soon realized straight pipes has a back fire when you let off the gas. Sounds horrible. So I told them to put the mufflers back on...
+Rocky Lopez Yeah, my car used to do the back firing too. Found out that it was a lot to do with the way that GM tuned the car for fuel mileage. We tuned the car and smoothed out the fuel, timing, and a few other parameters and I cannot believe how much better the car behaved, much less jerking between shifts, and no backfiring into the exhaust.

Somehow, I could tell that the flow was better and smoother after the x-pipe install. Excellent sound!!!
Nice exhaust clean as hell looks and sounds great!
Thanks. It was fairly easy to do to and considerable less to mod the factory exhaust then a full cat back system at this time. Sounds even better when you are churning through the gears, especially when down shifting!
Oh i'm sorry i'm not saying you have those other parts, I just very much enjoy the sound of your machine more than what they were offering me.

best sounding set up i've heard yet
Challenger SRT8 owner here, I went with the competition cat back magnaflow. So far so good, I'll upload a vid. Nice work I have the 6.4L 392
Mr CanUHemi
Mr CanUHemi
Mr CanUHemi
thanks for the nice details
This sounds great man
I like the drone!
Thats pretty much exactly what i want to do to mine. Thanks a bunch.
@theSScamarokid
I have since swapped to LT's and high flow cats and the popping only happens in certain situations as opposed to every time I let off the throttle.
WOW...compared it several times between the before and after. much deeper after the x-pipe. nice
I have a v6 you this just the mufflers would sound great?
outstanding thank you
i dont know if you still have that amazing camaro but wow what size are those exhaust tips they look like 5 inch wow
@gibsonbaby131 - it was actually really easy. I used a lift to do it, but you could do it easy enough on stands too. The instructions are straight forward. I ended up cutting the driver side pipe off approx 3/4" shorter than the instructions said so that I could get the pipe to align properly.
Please send me all the details to this exhaust system! I have my self a 2011 and would like the same set up and sound!

What size of exhaust tips are those, 5"?
What size are the tips?
Looks to be the perfect size
I was wondering .. before the x-pipe was the car stock besides the axle-back system?
what size x pipe did you use. i plan on getting one for my SS
how is cabin noise on highway with x pipe?
Sounds good
Out of every system I've heard on TH-cam this sounds really good. What's the point of the x-pipe? I can't tell the difference.
And did you keep the resonators?
They both sounded good to me and I only noticed a little difference in the tone of the X-Pipe. What did you get as far as power gains?
Which dynomax clamp did you order from summit?
My question, how is the cabin noise? Annoying?
@jdec141 cannot recall the exact part number, but they were 2.5" with dual clamping bolts.
I have the muffler delete right now much like your first video, why do I get decelerate popping and you don't? My popping is like gun shots...I Love the sound! Did you tune it some how?
If you dont mind me asking how much did the whole setup cost and who did you buy it through? I have a 2010 LS3 camaro and want the same set up.
Old comments... but this was amazing, if you still have the vehicle, is there any chance you could record it in a higher quality with a high quality sound recorder??? You have single handedly convinced me to go with Magnaflow over, B&B, and the ATAK
nice car jack
Nice deep, clean sound to it. Very nice! Are those 4.0" tips?
Yes I kept the resonators, that is what keeps the exhaust quiet...
what does this x pipe do?
The reason is that my exhaust manifolds and cats were not up to full temp. The exhaust is actually igniting unspent fuel in the exhaust tubes via the fact that when the fuel management system shuts off fuel in the deceleration mode, it allows oxygen to move into the exhaust (since there was not combustion cycle) which mixes with the unspent fuel, then ignites due to the retained heat of the manifolds/cats.
Do u plan on headers or any other mods
the x-pipe decreases noise by about 3dB which translates to substantially quieter exhaust
So this is just the Comp Axle back, and the X-pipe, with stock resonators still on there?
It pops about as much as the normal exhaust does...GM is shutting down injectors when you are decellerating to save fuel...and when you do that the extra oxygen in the exhaust ignites the unspent gases to make that popping.... One thing that does help with it is to go with long tub headers and high flow CATS...just did that on mine and that does help a bunch since the exhaust pipes are not near as hot as the cast iron manifolds/factory cats..
l99 or ls3?
@JWKVORTEC350 You would have to check with Magnaflow or contact Summit Racing or Jegs...
Okay cool bro so if you take the resonator off it would not throw a check engine light code or any other codes?
Correct, taking the resonator off will not set any codes. removing the cats will unless you program them to not flag.
thank you cool I'm gonna remove mines and put a xpipe in
@mistabones - that is correct.

@Micale Martin it is quieter actually
Yes, it was. No other mods.
@crewdogg15 not annoying at all...until I installed long tube headers...:-)
@91cannibal yea but u can fix the sound (with a few extra $'s) and it still kills the mustang and challenger, even with the weight
What size was the x pipe?
+Justin Kelley it was 2.5"
LOL at the kid covering his ears
The x pipe replaces the stock resonator?
No it replaces the factory "H" pipe.
Soo you still have the resonador?
@rhix99 - read down below in comments, I lay out the costs there.
LOL at the kid covering his ears, sounds great tho
it's a 2.5" unit that fits the factory exhaust. I think the PN is 10791...trying to recall it from memory here...
Is the as
Ss
where did you have this done? i'm sold
I did it myself in my shop. Any quality exhaust shop can do this as well.
@IrishChris1979 5in!!...wow!
@crewdogg15 yes
@IxOVERKILLxI - its an LS3
wht size tips are they?
2.5"
damn i thought they were 4 or 5 in😦
ah, yeah the very end of the tips are like 5" on this particular kit. The pipe from the front to back before that is 2.5"
mufreq okk thanks man igot sum borla ataks for my maro ss but iwont put them on until iget those big pretty 5" tips
Cabin noise was not bad at all, very tolerable and didn't have any drone in it at all.
Omg that sound fenomenal waoo that v8 or v6🤔?that sound bas ass
of course. its part of my daily diet charlie..just like yours lol
0:26 without x-pipe
1:56 with x-pipe
Is this a v8?
Did you ever get an answer? This is the sound I would LOVE to get on my V6. I have yet to find an exhaust that doesn't make it sound like AIDS. This has to be an SS.
@MichaelJosephWilk 1) I love the way this sounds! 2) Kill the 5.0...haha
@pfcfaflik Additional HP and Trq
this sound doesn´t have a price !!!!
no, I don't have any such equipment.
hey man that is an h pipe not a x pipe... but it still sounds good..
I replaced the H with the X unit from Magnaflow
oh sorry i didn't pay attention
but it was the return of the camaro. they should have gone all out but i guess they knew what they were doing. another problem with them is that theyre WAY to heavy too. they weigh almost 4000lbs!!! straight pipes with holes? what!!! haha. thats different. they should sound like a monster! but they dont =(
Love how the camaro sounds, can't stand hearing the gum smacking
That shit was driving me crazy
@@tonyrpacheco08 Thought I was the only one.
@imjaybird none at all
the 4th gen camaros destroyed the 98-10 mustangs from the factory but the mustang sold more. same thing now...camaro is slower stock but wins in sales. so, what are you recalling????

Kirshaun Williams lol
ur a ricer. :P
Ok um that was just straight pipes there was no muffler installed
correct, straight pipe, no mufflers, only resonators.
correct, straight pipe, no mufflers, only resonators.
correct, straight pipe, no mufflers, only resonators.
correct, straight pipe, no mufflers, only resonators.
i hate the way the new camaros sound!!!!!!!! they just dont sound like the 3rd gens or the 4th gens!!!! the new camaros just dont sound that great.
Ugly. And thats a heavy boat. GM Joke.
