Great video. I have watched several preparing for a fork service and this was a great addition. I have the parts in my Slavens cart and will be ordering them soon 🙂
hello from Italy Jaff what happens if I travel with very little oil in the upper chamber to have more travel !! Risk of breaking something? I like them softer in my country I have a lot of rocks! reb 18 comp 12 i use motul fork oil factory line very light 2,5. Thank you!
Jeff, this technique varies a bit from the WP official service youtube video. Did you figure out the volumes instead of the 510ml (bottom chamber) and air chamber height in their video? Also your bleeding technique is easier than theirs, but is it as effective? Thanks.
WP is disseminating conflicting information. My data came from the WP setting list and WP 4CS service manual. Their video is much more detailed and better than my quick and dirty approach for the average home tuner just wanting to do a spring or fluid change. Also, I would never recommend clamping the outer tube in a vise. That's fine for a journeyman but could be an expensive mistake for others.
I was wondering if you would be willing to sell shim specs for an 06 125sx. I've been playing around with it and it's better, but not ideal. I'm trying to learn what I'm doing and am looking for a setting from one that knows.

You said the oil will travel between upper and lower chambers. I thought they are separated by an o-ring on the cartridge?
please, How many millliters are going in lower part of the fork and how many in upper?
450cc in the bottom and 160cc in the top
Does the 75% in the bottom rest In the top trick work on a 2016 ktm 150sx
Yes, if you have 4CS forks.

So there is no need to pressurize the upper chamber with 6 bars to burp the fork if you know the exact oil volume?
Co H I do pressurize the chamber. Follow the instructions in the WP factory video.
Not using Maxima oil? What is that stuff?
No need to bleed?
