I have been wondering when you would get round to the food test, finally here and I couldn't be more excited for you, as I am myself. Definitely don't think anyone has attempted this before. So a first for you and your channel, congrats 👏 I would be of the same mind as you, keep them on the saki as they have already been on it and that way you will get a better idea as to how the pro bites performs against the saki. Would also be looking at starting off with only a couple of feeds and building it up over a few weeks once you know the filters are performing and water tests prove this. From my understanding, probably bites claim to have a unique formula to koi growth and wellbeing,so will be super interesting to see if their claims are fact bases or not? I already have experience with saki and am happy with it, especially as you mentioned when heat is used. Have several small tosai from last year the were only 12-15 cm,all around the 30-35 cm mark now and that was only over the winter. So it does work, just to see if pro bites can go one better? Lastly, I think you may get food cheaper from the likes of Germany, as I got my 15 kg balance and 5 kg growth, both saki hikari for 290 euro all in with delivery to Ireland, so could be worth shopping around for yourself and your viewers, especially with the pound being much stronger than the euro. Will be watching closely to see how you and you koi get on and thanks for all you have produced and shared so far. Always interesting to watch 👍👍👍

Cheers Terry. Taken some time but we got there. 😊 I will deffo have to have a look at sourcing the food from Germany if it's that much cheaper . We get stung on everything. Hope the new season is treating you well😊👍

Great idea! Can’t wait to see the difference! Have you ever thought about doing a middle of the market comparison, seems like the mid range koi food market is saturated all claiming to be better than the other! And a lot cheaper option than the likes of saki, Would love to see something like aqua source high growth v evolution aqua growth plus? Just an idea! Great video keep them coming! Thanks!

Ah cheers for commenting means a lot😊👍 so yes this is the first one, and as I'm now a Saki convert I had to start here. But I have along list of foods to test both of those included. But I want to give each test a proper season to see, not just throw a few handfuls an claim it's good/bad etc thanks for the support will help me keep doing this kind of thing 😊👍

When tests and comparisons of this kind are conducted in Japan, things like preference and palatability (not sure if this is translated correctly??) are the top focus. Especially in the case of outdoor mud ponds, because if this is missing, it can be a serious problem.

Yeah that sounds right. Got to be important as if the fish don't like it then it's never going to work if it's not eaten, no matter how 'good' it is. Cheers ☺️👍

I like these comparisons Dave. Great video. Only thing I would like to have seen is the Saki against a slightly more budget but still quality food like Takazumi maybe. Just to compare the price points. 👍🏼👍🏼
