I can’t believe I paid to see this piece of shit in theaters when I was 15 and I still want my money back. One of my worst of 97 with Steel, Ernest goes to Africa, The Pest and more
I can't believe I used to like this film. The first film was great so that's why I wanted to see it. I have it on DVD (which was part of a 2-film pack with the first film) which I got for Christmas 2001. When I watched it a few years later, I used to love it. When I saw it again many years later, I hate this film. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation was garbage. It was an embarrassment to Mortal Kombat and it was a disgrace to Mortal Kombat. Because I loathe this film so much nowadays, I'm never watching this film again.
@OcpCommunications: I agree this was a royal disaster from start to finish. It certainly did not help that the director and a large part of the crew were all promoted up from their positions on the pervious movie and that New Line Cinema rushed the production to meet the November 1997 release date. Glad that the animated Mortal Kombat: Legends movies got made, they are much better than this stinker. Also, I agree that the tv series Mortal Kombat Conquest was a major letdown as well. Mortal Kombat from 2021 is just as bad if not worse than Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, in my humble opinion.
@@Johnlindsey289 Indeed, more time would have greatly benefited the making of this movie. Also, I recall the marketing for this movie being really poor when compared to the first movie.
@@OcpCommunications indeed. I met someone who preferred it over the first one....huh? Clearly he is confused. And he was like yeah yeah the first film is unwatchable. Umm, nah, you're definitely getting your films mixed up buddy.
This awesome epic rant so amazing video ever! Also nobody cares about that sequel it is pretty worst bad film flick, because make me piss off they killed off johnny cage.
One of my favorite movies of all time. I just checked if this was a fresh take and then saw the all too clichéd "worst film" thing. Not gonna watch past ten seconds.
I said one of the worst. I didn't say the worst. And I did give the film some credit at points. Specifically for Sandra Hess and Red Williams. As well as the film's soundtrack and some of the fight choregraphy by Robin Shou. And just because a lot of people think this film sucks and don't like it? That doesn't make their opinion cliched. If this is one of your favorites? Fine. There's nothing wrong with that. But there's also nothing wrong with people not being a fan of it.
I love this movie. Its one of my go to for laughing at. Like conquest, they know it is shit. Paycheck. Check out James Remar as Raiden. His oscar sure as shit aint for martial arts. Review The Warriors.
Not as many people who liked Scorpion or Sub Zero. Yeah they weren't Stryker or Nightwolf but they weren't that popular. Certainly not popular enough to have more overall screen time than Scorpion and Sub Zero in the film.
I don’t believe in the term “guilty pleasure” as I never use that word or use it, either you like something or you don’t. It’s one of the two, just admit it you like it and move on. Who cares what others think? I don’t feel guilty about enjoying a movie I like. And I also don’t like the word “cheesy” as I never used that word or liked it as I have a brain. Mortal Kombat 1 is a classic! This however is what I describe as “cheesy” because of the shitty looking cgi and it’s an extremely bad sequel and movie.
@@Teh69thSpartan This just especially pisses me off with how they follow up the first film and kill Johnny Cage and completely take away Liu Kang's personality and give him a boring side quest and a silly animality. And how it makes Sub Zero, Scorpion and Shao Khan all incredibly lame. Those are just bad films that are bad in a forgettable kind of way. Plus neither of those got a theatrical release. This was released in theaters...
This Epic Rant Will Be GLORIOUS!!!!!
It killed the franchise
I can’t believe I paid to see this piece of shit in theaters when I was 15 and I still want my money back.

One of my worst movie going experiences. It killed the franchise just as it was beginning... until 2021 which was no better.
An epic fail this is

They should had wait for a 98 release

Sighs. Yeah, no thanks. Just awful.
It's so bad. And not usually in a so bad it's good way either. It's just hard to watch.

Just like the 1995 one I love the locations and soundtrack.
I seen this movie with one of my uncles as a kid even back then I said it was trash by the way thank you for tearing this movie apart😅
I think it pretty much goes without saying that this movie sucks.
Is it any worse than MK21?
That opening scene came across as very lame with bad tasteful special effects and gaming sounds thrown in the mix.
Btw how much money is needed for a paid let's play?
Depends on how long you want me to play the game.
@@OcpCommunications how much for, 1 hour?
I only asked 10 for Matt. So I would say that would be the amount for one hour of gameplay.
Minecraft might beat this for number 1 worst video game movie
Nah I doubt it, it’ll be bad but worse than this is a tall order
Not a good movie at all but this movie is entertainingly hilarious as hell. But this could've been a lot better especially with the effects.

This movie was so disappointing from the original. Glad I didn't see this one in the theater like the first movie
I paid to see this in theaters at 15, I wasted money

Not as many people who liked Scorpion or Sub Zero. Yeah they weren't Stryker or Nightwolf but they weren't that popular. Certainly not popular enough to have more overall screen time than Scorpion and Sub Zero in the film.
The soundtrack was better than the film and that’s saying very little.
I found it astonishing the first Mortal Kombat was good yeah it had cheesy moments but still a guilty pleasure. This one is just bad.

@ That’s how view things bro I don’t care if you agree or not.
I dislike the words “guilty pleasure” and “cheesy” and never use them because I think for myself
Still better than the Dead or Alive and King Of Fighters movies... althrough that's not saying much 😅
I would rather watch both than this and I know they suck. Especially DOA.
@OcpCommunications oh well... to each their own.
