Tom Samad Lord knows the soundtrack is so badass. One sin should've been taken off for the soundtrack, as its literally the only Good thing about this "film".
Whoa, really? Looking back I'm sure it did after the first films' success. Judging by the CGI F/X though I wonder if New Line Cinema was by that point trying to do like Cannon Films had done a little over a decade prior: Funneling the film's budget into two or three other projects goin' simultaneously (e.g. the way the effects of Superman IV was effected because Masters of the Universe as well as another side-project was goin' on at the time, thank you my misspent childhood)? Perhaps so. I mean the original film was a mid '90s 1995 released film and the special F/X were certainly "of its time" but not super laughable or anything.
I'll never forget watching it in my screening room when I was in middle school, opening night: The _SAME_ opening crawl as the original movie & opening theme. Only a different title. I was like "Eh? Did the studio ship the wrong film to the cinemas?..." and then the terrible voice-over shit storm that is 1997's MK: Annihilation _TRULY_ begins to fly in our faces, unfortunately. I think that a true "Best Worst Movie EVER!"-styled documentary, just as the one on Troll II from the late '80s, could be made for this movie. Especially since aside from future Darth Paul & Toad actor Pay Park being in the stunt departments here & one character actor working for Tarantino and the lead bad guy playing Shao Khan being the baddie in Stallone's vehicle that was Cobra, there's very little "making of" material for this one anywhere as well as a general sense of shame from the studios & actors. Would be interesting for a documentary online or on blu ray to eventually tackle it with some rare on-set footage or something. Seems all involved via some freshly shot interviews might be able to give us the low-down on why, despite trying their hardest, this truly turned into some legendary super shit-sandwich of cinema:( I sort of feel bad for them as its not as if they all didn't give it the proverbial college try. Just that video game adaptions generally make shit-house flicks as well as the script was non sense toilet tissue and the editing & special F/X were truly dead on arrival.
Whoa so my initial post was probably correct then! I hate to pat myself on the back but yeah, the funds for the film were most definitely shuffled off into another on-going at that point film project or two as back then in the '90s $30 million of a budget would have looked more like $40,000,000 nowadays and should have looked twice as better on screen. So yeah unless there were major music rights issues for the soundtrack or it went over-budget the in the end, super sadly, the actors & film makers _TRULY_ got fucked as the film at least should have not looked like an under $8,000,000 straight to VHS tape film of that time release. Something definitely went wrong there, no doubt :( Suspicious...

I had MK4 on my N64 as my first MK game, and when I saw this on TV at the end I was like holy shit THAT WAS SHINNOK? Totally wouldn't have known if they hadn't ever said his name that one time lol
They did at least SHOW Ermac earlier in the film! It's just that his name was never mentioned and all he did was stand there looking shocked that Rain got MC Hammered.
I remember sitting in the theater through this turd of a movie. When I heard Rayden utter the sentence "Shao Kahn is my brother", I wanted to walk out.
Mk did a bad job of explaining why scorpian is in the sequel. For those who haven't played the games Scorpian is a vengeful spirit out to avenge his family who were supposedly killed by the first sub zero. Seeing as scorpian is technically dead already you can't really kill him just send him back to hell
And maybe I'm overestimating their tech (or underestimating), but how the hell does he just pull them off with no harmful repercussions? Were they attached to NOTHING?
Ichijo Festival I suppose they made him so strong that when he took them off he was strong enough not be to be until he took them off, by which point he already had them off. If that sounds dumb, it is.

+MisterX867 the cheesiness of everything. Every actor in that movie looked like they had better things to do that day then shoot this movie. And let's face it they probably did.
The amount of times I watched this film as a kid is unreal. To put it into perspective, I never actually owned the film, I rented it on VHS from Blockbuster. Now that I think about it, this whole movie has a very 'Power Rangers' style of storytelling to it, which I was also a fan of, which might explain why I loved it so dang much.
"Nobody told me why Jonny had to die." Because Linden Ashby wanted too much money and if we have him back there won't be enough money left for the top tier CG effects budget.
Maybe because it's not "the search for the worst" kind of channel, more like the "let's prove that no movie is without sin" channel. This is one of the very few so bad they're good movies they have sinned.
You know the rules, if you need outside material for a movie, the adaptation is just bad. Omega-level bad if you count in Ermac, Rain and Mileena and probably at least 3 more characters who were never introduced by name.
In 1997 I lived in Ayuttaya, Thailand, where this atrocity of a movie was filmed. All the actors and stunt people used the gym where I was a member. Ayuttaya was the old capital of Siam until the Burmese came and raised most of the city. Until that time it was known as 'The Venice of Asia' by the Europeans who visited it. All the locations for the temple scenes can be visited for a small fee. It's a wonderful city well worth a visit.
Shao Kahn: In 6 days, you will all bow to me. Shao Kahn only a few moments later: ANNIHILATE 'EM!! How can they bow to you if they're dead? You're not Onaga.
5:29 what’s funny is that he didn’t even need to dodge, let alone flip... considering he had already passed the point where the missile was shot. He could have either stopped where he was, or kept moving forward and it still wouldn’t have hit him.
I'm surprised no one has talked about there being no blood and gore, one of the main things about MK is that it's incredibly brutal, there were no finishers at all in this movie either, what the fuck?
I can't believe that I enjoyed this movie the first time I saw it in 1999. Dear Elder Gods, now I can only watch the first 15 minutes without sighing and turning it off. If that third MK movie will ever be made, please make it in the spirit of the first movie. THAT was good.
Sub Zero has a brother in the game and Scorpion is an undead demon who can't be killed like a normal human, so I don't think he died in the first movie, at least not permanently.

It’s not connected to these though. I’d be for Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa coming back as Shang Tsung.
@@blumagi984 At least the CGI should look pretty decent this time.
@@MegaShepardsPie, Will it though?
@@thepickygamer4450 it can't be any worse 😕
"Shinnok" Is portrayed as the white dude in the black robe and this isn't mentioned until The elder gods reappear and give Raiden his powers back at the end of the movie, that whole scene alone is equivalent to 1000 sins. People til this day didn't even know Shinnok was portrayed AT ALL in this damn movie, hell it just caught my attention last week🤦🏾♂️
Never realized that was supposed to be Shinnok. Good catch.
I had MK4 on my N64 as my first MK game, and when I saw this on TV at the end I was like holy shit THAT WAS SHINNOK? Totally wouldn't have known if they hadn't ever said his name that one time lol
Also, Shinnok being a daddy here. That's just a soap opera now.
@Snapping Turtle shinnoks a fallen elder God, he's awesome but this movie made him whack
Point taken. I never noticed it even to this day!
Liu: “I’m looking for Nightwolf. You were a wolf, at night... who are you?!”
Steve Brewer underrated😭
That's funny.
"Um, I'm Batman!"
To think, "Shao Kahn is my brother" walked so that "You're a Palpatine" could run and make a billion dollars. F*** both those movies.
I’ve watched this a million times and it never stops being hilarious 😂
It’s great
Mk did a bad job of explaining why scorpian is in the sequel. For those who haven't played the games Scorpian is a vengeful spirit out to avenge his family who were supposedly killed by the first sub zero. Seeing as scorpian is technically dead already you can't really kill him just send him back to hell
Knightofjustice The movie did a bad job at everyone's character and motives
Scorpian?!
It's Scorpion
But he killed him in hell🤔
Scorpian, :D nice
This is the best "so bad it's good" film I've ever watched.
You can add The Pirate Movie to that list.
The Sub Zero return was the inspiration for Landfill’s character in Beerfest.
When you start watching this video and think to yourself: "This movie's fuuuuucked"
Jax is like if we were beamed into this movie. He’s confused as hell and just rolling with it.
Earn that paycheck Jax. That killed me. hahahaha
the question is how many takes did it go through before Jeremy stopped accidentally saying Tyrese
Haha
I'm so glad I was the only one xD
poor jax
Me too lol
Shouldn't Jax being stronger without the robot arms have been a sin?
Power of confidence cliche
And maybe I'm overestimating their tech (or underestimating), but how the hell does he just pull them off with no harmful repercussions? Were they attached to NOTHING?
Jax got scammed good by his own company.
Ichijo Festival I suppose they made him so strong that when he took them off he was strong enough not be to be until he took them off, by which point he already had them off.
If that sounds dumb, it is.
TheCrazyscarecrow omg yea didn't he take his arms off and beat the horse dude with them???
Half ram, half man, half horse and half alligator 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I lost it
@DeeSmokez Gaming LOL
Manbearpig is very real. He is half man. Half bear. And half pig. Manbearpig just wants to get you. I am super serial.
@@bretthosmer6770 bruuuuuh I said Cereal or Serial for about a Month after that Episode. My favorite episode of south park, my favorite Quote from South Park. I thank you Sir.....i wish i could like this 10,000x LMAO
So, you’re average Chernobyl citizen
No, no, no u have Motaro all wrong...
He's half man, half bear and half pig...
Duh!
Excelsior!
What if he's half-man and half pig-bear?
no he is the legendary manbearpig
+Death Incarnate that would make him Donald Trump
***** rich, UGLY, assholes that want to suck the last little bit of life out of this struggling country. Yep, they're pretty much the same
Sub Zero and Nightwolf were the only good actors in this.
this
in this
This was a good movie when I was a kid and I don't see why everyone is being assholes and acting like this was the worst movie in history
Like stfu and get ur panties out of a bunch
@Ethan Lasley It's just my opinion. If you like the movie, that's cool. I won't stop you from enjoying it.
I remember walking out of the theater on this movie.. *sigh* ... memories..
missing sin Raidens fucking unnecessary haircut..
it's like the stunt double didn't want to wear a long hair wig cause it interfered with his fighting lol
+GoshDarnBarnOwls lol "fighting"
What part of the movie is the one that made you walk out? lol
What?
I know your pain because I did that too. Shame on me.
They can look into each others eyes or other places slightly lower. Watch Raiden and Sonya Blade again.
not only was it an obvi stunt double for rayden, it was RAY motherfuckin Park, you know, Darth Maul, snake eyes from g.i. joe....
Poor Ray Park. He doesn't get enough good roles. I mean, the man is really, really talented, and not a half bad actor either.
Raiden*
"Not a half bad actor"
Watch the King of Fighters movie and let us know if you still think that.
He also played Toad in the first X-Men movie.
He was so fucking perfect as Snake Eyes
That looked a million times worse than I remember, and 2 million times worse than the first.
The first was waaay better than this one
It was Mortal Kombat though. It didn't matter that it was shit because as bad as it was, it was one of the better video game based movies.
"Nobody told me why Jonny had to die."
Because Linden Ashby wanted too much money and if we have him back there won't be enough money left for the top tier CG effects budget.
you should have added a sin on how Sonya Blade's shirt stayed Clorox white even after being covered in mud.
No, it actually got dirty but it should be sinned for how clean she was able to get it after that fight.
No, it should be sinned for staying on the whole movie.
YAY! +3 Sins :)
+RobTzu 1 Yeah!, those perky tits!
just based on how this movie basically rips two games together and still messes up. needs at least 200 more sins
How haven't you done Food Fight yet?
Maybe because it's not "the search for the worst" kind of channel, more like the "let's prove that no movie is without sin" channel. This is one of the very few so bad they're good movies they have sinned.
I assume, no straight-to-dvd movies
We don't need a film somehow getting a higher score than the Room!
I think making a multi-hour EWW Food Fight with thousands of sins would take Jeremy off the deep end. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.
because every man has his sanity limit. lol
"I'll take my mother" could only be topped by "Guess I'll have the sloppy seconds then".
Oh man this movie was so bad. Lol. I never saw it that way back in 1997. Lol.
Back then I was a LOT more lenient toward movies and I could still tell it was a cheap cash-in.
David Cornell In 97 I was 10 so this was worth some of my life. Can't do it today.
The First One Was Better
Chronoxiong Gaming same here I was 12 and can’t watch it the same way now.
That yellow robot "guy" has a name, you know. His name is Cyrax.
we're all well aware dipshit
Daa we knowwww
You know the rules, if you need outside material for a movie, the adaptation is just bad. Omega-level bad if you count in Ermac, Rain and Mileena and probably at least 3 more characters who were never introduced by name.
Jade - “It was sooooo easy...”
Liu Kang - “You will thigh for this jade...”
Eren Yeager: KONOA URAGIMONGYIARAAA!!
I though I'd never seen this movie; apparently I have and my mind blocked it out. Probably trying to save my sanity or something. 🤷♂️
I went blind. My eyes were protecting my heart.
That crappie cgi monster at the end was the concept art for the crappie cgi monster in the Great Wall 2017.
Oh come on, how could you not mention Sindel's epic line? You KNOW the one i'm talking about.
I think that's just too easy to sin. Though...you did make me chuckle when I remembered "that" line.
What's the line?
I need to know as well.
I'm glad he avoided that and put in the vastly superior 6 days line.
Nobody ever gets this line right.
Kitana: Mother? You're alive?
Sindel: TOO BAD YOU... WILL DIE!!
"No one watching this movie will get that ['Mr. Ed is mine] joke!" That was my favorite
That line always gets me every time 😂😂 I remember laughing so hard the first time I heard it lol
Someone explain...
It's a wonderful city well worth a visit.
... this video should be an hour and a half long
Please do Deadpool already. I can't wait any longer
But there is nothing wrong with it, it was fucking hilarious
+_ Twilight No movie is without sin.
They've said before they don't think it will sin well. It's too self aware.
He has to wait a certain amount of time after release I believe. Or if he receives permission
he just has to wait untill it comes out on dvd
Everything wrong with Wreck-It Ralph man plsss
they already did that
+that one time traveller PROOF??
+that one time traveller no they didnt
+that one time traveller They did? Did it get removed?
he already did that one
Shao Kahn: In 6 days, you will all bow to me.
Shao Kahn only a few moments later: ANNIHILATE 'EM!!
How can they bow to you if they're dead? You're not Onaga.
Soyna’s eyes was not where Raiden’s gaze fell when the ball stated rolling
Can you blame him
She has nice eyes, an excellent size of eyes. Very perky, eyes.
11 minutes of credits? People actually worked on this cluster****?
You now have me curious as to what 2 letter curse word you could possibly be censoring.
haha ikr
cluster** = clusterfk = clusterfuck
I believe the word you're looking for is fustercluck
This whole video had me laughing my ass off well played man. I used to love this move when I was really young
5:29 what’s funny is that he didn’t even need to dodge, let alone flip... considering he had already passed the point where the missile was shot.
He could have either stopped where he was, or kept moving forward and it still wouldn’t have hit him.
This movie was so painful to watch.
cloudsweapon567 I apologized to my dad for taking me to see this trash when I was older
IanOHara I think i did years after having my parents sit through this movie as I was 12 when it came out.
You missed a perfectly good "The rules are more like guidelines anyway" PotC joke there at 5:03. I'm gonna have to sin that. *ding*
"The sacred rules seem like sacred suggestions."
Lmfao!
Also Sub Zero gives Liu Kang a lecture as Sub Zero himself wasn't ready as he almost died
I'm surprised no one has talked about there being no blood and gore, one of the main things about MK is that it's incredibly brutal, there were no finishers at all in this movie either, what the fuck?
No sin taken off for the gratuitous mud-wrestling scene between Sonya and Mileena? Aw...
That scene contained a lap dance. Lol
They down played Mileena's character so much it wasn't worth it.
Should've gotten sins for being horribly tasteless despite being a desperate attempt at being sexy.
Millina has an ugly face but I will still do it, wouldnt you?
+Tandy p hi there
I can't believe that I enjoyed this movie the first time I saw it in 1999.
