    Yes Ford is recalling the 2014 F150 for a sudden diw shift in the transmission. However this has been around since 2011 and the 2014 wasn't included.
    All they did was update it to add the 2014 model. less than 1% (that's 5500 or less trucks) will be affected.

      Updated software calibration. They all need a new software flash. Only the 1% will experience the downshift. That's due to an electrical short in the lead frame. The software update changes shift parameters if I read correctly

      @brandongarnold 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@BeardedFordTechNo I don’t think you fully understand. All 550k are included in the recall. The service procedure asks are the codes present or not. Yes- You change the leadframe and update the calibration. No- You just go to page 5 and perform the calibration and on page 5 it also states some may already have the updated calibration. The main goal in this recall is to get the calibration updated to prevent the 1st gear default when there is a sensor malfunction inside the transmission in which all F150s 2011-2014 were programmed the same when built. Ford wants the leadframe replaced if the faults are found just to squash any issues the customer may be having at the time of the recall.

      @brandongarnold ford literally said less than 1% are effected. I've done a few on the 2014 course they weren't a recall at the time or even a TSB. The tab was for 11-13. It's weird they didn't include the 14 cause it's the exact same. I'm really glad I don't have to do them anymore. They aren't hard. This was almost never an issue with fully hydraulic control transmissions, and if it was a problem a simple adjustment to linkage or vacuum modulator fixed it, although valve body work was sometimes required
    Its a big reason why I do not own computer controlled vehicles
    I would be seriously tempted to stuff an older transmission with an adapter plate in those trucks.

    Regardless if it's only 1% or not that 5,500 trucks that could lose control and cause others to be harmed so the number of people that are at risk goes up exponentially when you factor in the collateral damages. That's bad. That is a big deal.

      @BeardedFordTech  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I never said it wasn't a big deal. Of course it is. But it can regain signal. There were very very few instances where it locked up the rear. We don't want anyone getting hurt. And I agree with your statement

      @pln8775 what about the 2016? Do you see it anywhere on the recall notice I showed where is said 2014 model year? So no the 2016 isn't affected. Literally said clear as day multiple times. Watch the video pay attention. It shows what year is affected and what will be done to it.

    I had to replace the lead frame on my 2017 5.0 six speed it didn’t drop to 1st gear but it wouldn’t come out of 3rd this was around 120,000 km or roughly 72,000 miles for my friends south of the border. They also replaced the valve body because for some reason it was quicker to get both units already put together than to just get the lead frame , any way it cost me $3,800 Canadian l wonder if ford will reimburse me (lol)

      @BeardedFordTech  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @chrisstackhouse8374 not for the 2017 they won't reimburse you. Yes it is quicker to get the valve body because it already comes with the frame. If your doing just the frame you have to remove valve body anyway. Then separate it.

    Does Ford cover plastic surgery after your face kisses the windshield Ford has more problems just this the transmission right now they're having trouble with air conditioning compressors airbags vehicles from Chicago assembly with parts falling off them we probably pushed 34,000 trucks through the doors here

    • @BeardedFordTech
      @BeardedFordTech  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @user-yb9jr3dt7y every car has airbag problems. It's where they get the cheap parts from. This recall came out just in time to be out of the 10yr 150k mile. You notice that? Cause the 11-13 did the same thing. It's nothing new. You named the problem. Should have done it in all caps though. I'll do it for you. CHICAGO. Nothing good comes from there or california.

    2015 to 2017 the most reliable so I have been told have the updated lead frame. I have a 2017 bought used had the pan dropped and a flush afterward 112k on it it shifts as it should but when coasting to a stop after the indicator says it downshifted into first I fell a bump after indication a downshift happens sometimes no rime or reason cold or hot any ideas.
