I'm 55 years old, and somehow I managed to scrape through without ever knowing how to work out percentages. My eldest asked me to help her with percentages and I found this video. I can't believe it's so simple! Thank you!
Don't feel bad. I'm in my 50's too and I have forgotten a lot of the math that I learned because I don't use it on a regular basis as an adult. Keep practicing. You'll get better. Best wishes to you.
@@Western-rail-fanI'm happy to read that you're paying attention in math class. I would recommend giving a tad bit more attention to your Language Arts coursework. Best of luck out there Kiddo! I believe in you.
Thank you for this lesson. As always you make math seem quite simple. I was once so intimidated by math, but you're helping me take my confidence back.
Thank you so much for this, my teenager is trying to learn Nat4 Maths and this made sense of the problems he had to do without a calculator in a way the course books couldn't!
i just want to say a big thank you to this guy because i was struggling so bad but as soon as i clicked on this guy i understood it instantly like he said again THANK YOU
I wish you were my math teacher at school, you explain things so well. I hated math because the teacher was so strict and shouted at you if you were wrong. Kids were scared to ask questions because he would get mad if you didn't know how to do things. This was in the 70s & 80s though
im taking the asvab for the army, when i got my practice test back i did excellent in all categories but math and this video really helped me, so thank you. I never knew how to do percentages and never learned it once in school so whenever i was met with the challenge of figuring out a percent i would either just guess or google/calculate it if i could. Now i know how to do these problems for my actual asvab test later this week!
Oh my god wth this is the easiest way to work it out I was literally crying cuz I couldn’t work it out I am so grateful for this video thank youuuu I love youuu 👍👍😊
Thank you so so much man! im 18, Im in high school but I dont do maths, only financial maths and inflation calculations so I have forgotten all this basic knowledge and im relearning what I need to know, I apprecate this.
I am 52 years old and was taught something about dividing one by the other and then multiply by 100 over 1 and whatever....I couldn't remember it......but this is a game changer!!!!
Tysm for explaining my stupid teacher just gives me the answer but doesn't tell me how she got it, and after me and my Best friend checked her answers she was mostly wrong 😅
Hello hope all is well I first want to say thank you for your free online education and for putting out Great content and being a great explainer just one question on the last problem 13% of 1200 how come we didn’t move the decimal to the left once to make it 1.3?
The only problem i have with this is when you take for ex. 24% of 60 div by 10 = 2.4 x 6. The 2*6 is easy enough to calculate (12). But the 0.4*6 is also just 40% of 6. And i find it hard to do in my head... In that case i could just do the whole problem like this 24% of 60 as 0,24* 60... But yeah, everything ells makes alot of sense. Thanks :)
Thank you so much Josh. I am a 51 year old man who struggles with mathematics. You helped me learn percentages in such a quick time. I will follow all your videos from now on 😊
I love your lesson Heading. "How to wok out percentages INSTANTLY!". Then I look at the time of the video, and it's over FIVE MINUTES LONG! Still reasonable but, "ALANIS" on the title, eh mate? Thanks for putting together a great vid.
Thank you for the video Josh, the hidden message I shall say is , no matter how old we are , the simpler the explanation the better, and we can prevent future innumeracy and dyscalculia.
Thank you, basically either two numbers divided by 10 and that = 100 what you totally divided and after that the multiplication. Or one number divided by 100 and after that the multiplication.
Came from the earlier percentages video. So simple. You didn't mention how you memorized all the multiplication tables. I knew 12 x 12 was 144, but 13 x 12 wasn't so easy. Did you memorize the value or did you just add 12 to 144 to get 156?

You are. And thank you.
Haha it's wholesome imagining that
I always struggled with the divide by 100 method, but the 10 & 10 method is so much better for me.
Thank you dude.
Thanks
Ironically, I'm having a test tomorrow and one of the topics is percentages. Quite a coincidence that this was uploaded today. Thank you!
Good luck!
Why were we never taught this in school? This method is 1000 times easier to follow. Keep up the good work tecmath.👍

Thank you. This was way easier than what I was taught years ago.
What were you taught? I don't even remember what I was taught, just did this method automatically (albeit slowly 'cus I forgot my times table XD)
Glad you liked it.

WHERE have you been ALL my life!!!!!
wow, first time ever understanding percentages. Ive not been able to learn off my teachers and ive just learnt in 5 minutes!
There’s a even simpler way, just multiply the number in decimal form. For example 0.61 X 80 =48.8 and that gets you the answer even quicker
That’s not very simple if you can’t do quick maths ✖️➗
My daughter is starting 7th grade algebra, so if you see the number of visits to your site go up dramatically this year, it’s me!😬
amazing very clear! keep it up tec math😊
