linear equations with the same slope are parallel as they will never cross each other. So you need to solve the equation for the constant (c) when y=2, x=5,and the slope = 3. so solve : 2=3*5+c
the standard form example problem was actually in point slope form, which made it confusing when you talked about transfering slope intercept into standard form
wait....for slop-intercept to standard form, aren't you allowed to have your "x" a negative? Don't you have to divide it by -1 to get rid if the negative?

To me, the answer of the first equation is right, because x and y are two different terms. They cannot marry, therefore no further calculation can be done, hence the given answer. If the terms were the same, eg -3y ×2y would yield a -6y.
I understand the equation is Ax + By = C, but i was told in Math class that there are certain rules the equation must follow. One of the rules is that A has to be positive. So how do you make the A positive. Example: -4x+3y= -41, this does not follow the rule, but how do you make it follow the rule?? Answer: 4x+-3y= 41... Is that Correct??

In order to make the A positive you have to multiply the entire equation by negative one to cancel out the negative A.

Not how I was taught. It's still in standard form, just some people find it easier to have the coefficient of x to be positive. Not necessary.
