This song came out in 1988. It was on their first album 2 Hype. You should react to one of the other videos from that album "Gittin Funky." It's even crazier than this joint.

Another jam! You are right and it's sad. We can't really go anywhere anymore without being on guard. But back then, no fears. People were out for a good time. Shawny, I told you before, you would have loved it back then. Another few that were bangers back then were Flashlight by Parliment, "The Message" by Grand Master Flash and the furious 5 (Still relevant social issues) Another classic "Planet Rock" by Afrika Bambata & Soulsonic Force, "Freaks Come out at Night" by Whodini. OMG I keep thinking of them!

this song was from the movie House Party i think this either was from house party 2 or 3. they also had great song soundtrack. Yes the 70'-80's &the mid 90' was a great era for going to house parties we had so much fun partying on the weekends nights with hardly no fights. Where i'm from it was late 90's the night house parties/club seen died cause of the beat downs & the shooting in & out of the house parties/clubs killed the have fun vibes, music in the club changed to top 40 + many good clubs closed down for good. Miss those eras of having a good time.
This song was on their "2 Hype" album which was released in 1988. If it was in one of the movies, it would have more than likely been in "House Party" which came out in 1990. This song was released in 1989.

Just subbed for this reaction. Kid N' Play was fun to dance to (and yes, we all knew how to do the "Charleston" then tap our feet together and start again. The Running Man...all the wild dances of the '80s & '90s. But they were kind of seen as a joke group - over the top is probably a better way of explaining it. Their songs (and movies) were fun and funny, not to be taken seriously, except to know how to do the dances. You were a wall-flower at the club if you couldn't dance like them.
Back then you had your share of asshats that would ruin a party but overall you could go out have a good time and not worry about someone shooting up the place
