Man there were so many house parties, clubhouse apartment complex parties, block parties. Week long parties, BBQ"s, Roller Rinks, clubs. The parks on Sat & Sun with the hard body mini trucks and Suzuki Samauri's and Trackers with 15" - 20" sub woofers and amps. 4 wheelers, motorcycle's, dirt bikes. It was a completely different era. I rebember in 1981 when MTV first debuted and BET show Video Soul with Donnie Simpson. It's good to see young ppl that have appreciation for the generation that preceded them. I saw House Party at the Town Center Mall in 1990 with my graffiti GUESS overalls. That theater was packed. If you wanted a females number you better be up on your game. The mall ain't the shit anymore like the 80s and 90s.
I grew up in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. You go to a house party and danced all night sweating your hair out, no fights, great music and your friends, cousins etc… go to a club, no arguing or fights or shootings. Pure fun!! You couldn’t pay me to go in a club now!!!
There was a party at school and I was literally actually dancing. Like your supposed to. Not standing around being boring. But I was really dancing and everyone just stared like they’ve never seen anything like that it. One person even said “What the hell” and laughed but this just shows that kids my age really don’t know what true dancing is or the real meaning behind a party or a house party frl. And it’s truly sad .
Every decade was dangerous, the world wasn't perfect. However people had a general understanding of right and wrong and folks didn't trip as hard back then. Folks didn't take themselves so seriously like today. He didn't say it was perfect but it was better than today.
