  • Possibly one of the most famous Oysters built, we brought her, rebuilt her, then sailed with a group of friends across the Atlantic in the ARC race!
    Champagne Hippy is a stunning extended Oyster 825. Spending a year and a shed load of money, we totally rebuilt this boat and made one of the best sailing boats in her class.

    "If you see a lot of people, they are enjoying themselves and I'm just getting in the way." After saying that, James turned back and walked into the crowds and showed us what "getting in the way" really means.
    This is why I love this channel. I never thought I could laugh my ass off watching a yacht walkthrough.

      Yes I thought that when I watched it back 😂

    It is people like you who give boaters a great reputation. Bringing this boat back from the dead. I wish I had the money to buy her.. what most people don't understand is the joy this boat will bring to so many lives for the rest of her life. Good work!

      Seriously, a new one is over £5 million. This was a no brainer salvage job. The boat was cheap, they put the value back, made money chartering, now cashing out.

    James a beautiful yacht and finished to a perfect standard, looks much more contemporary in the light oak and bright colour scheme. Lovely way to sail around the world...

    This is one beautiful yacht ! My preference has always been motor boat but there’s something “worldly “ about a big sailing yacht - you refurbished her to an amazing standard . The next owner will be very lucky :)

    Has to be the best one up to yet James, at least you do admit lots of times that you are not an expert on sail boats, unlike motor boats. just needed you to fall over to really make my day. Brilliant as normal cheers for making my night shift just a bit better. Oh look at the size of my winches.

    "we have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic boat"??? Haha, seriously though what a beauty, and what a fantastic job you guys did!! I was in awe looking at this until you said "ooh, look at that bacon" 😂😂😂. Very funny. Wish I could afford it but unfortunately I made the wrong choices in life and went to work for the NHS😂😂🤔. Can't imagine you'll have problems selling her though. Please keep the vids coming because even us paupers love to see how the other half live, and more importantly we love your humour!!!!!!

    I think this is a perfect example of why I don't like to be an early adopter. OYSTER with their new style matrix on the 825 (which bankrupted the company) and Beneteau with their early problems with the steering on the Antares 13,80 (ignoring their bulkhead problems on the Lagoon 45 which took a little longer to come to light). When your safety is at stake and that of your family, it is a good idea to go with a tried and tested design. I take the same approach to commercial airliners. I am endeavouring to make old bones 🙂

    • @Boatscouk
      @Boatscouk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks David. I agree. We have rebuilt use the tried and tested ( and very time consuming ) method of hand laid GRP and stringers. Super strong and simple 😊

    Keeping in mind Polina Star III. is this boat which is the only Oyster ever designed and constructed he way this one was. it truly wants to be under water. I have said this more than once I would buy any boat this man sells because I trust this guy. he is on the boat and that is good as it gets for me. great job. great video.

    Yes us Essex Bois like to "Go Large" with the music system. I hope it has strobing multicoloured under water lights...very important for a Mid Atlantic rave. Also useful to scare away the pesky Orcas off the coast of Portugal 😝

    It was MCA Code 0 when built…..and still sank. Why builders like Oyster still insist on selling speed and maneuverability over blue water reliability is beyond me. They know better.

      No it was not mca code 0 when built. She sails beautifully again now 😊

      She sits on an even keel but depending on wind and currents she may slightly lean one way or the other. Obviously passenger movements affect this too😊
