I really like the webbing I think it makes it look like a mini stained glass. Thanks for taking us along
See! Not only my opinion
Hello from the Shetland Islands, North East Scotland, Uk! We're at 60° North!!
Cheers, Mary x
I enjoy these videos more than most tv shows! Determined to get one of Justin’s opals in the not too distant future if I can convince the Wife 😂
Just a suggestion, have you ever tried sand blasting the sand off the opal to expose the stone.
It's getting harder and harder to find channels with integrity and character, that are at the same time interesting and keep my attention. So I watch everything you got , Justin, more than once. Greetings from South Texas, my brother from Downunder
I’m glad it’s not me deciding how to cut these. I would be a wreck!
I like the way that black web looks in that stone
I do too! It makes it more unique than opal already is!
Another !
You two are lovely together!!! Wish I could be there!
Likewise I.
Love those two unusual pieces and love those matching smiles!
Look forward to being at the lightning ridge festival thank you for all your amazing cutting sessions Miriam 😊
Great! Come and say hi if you see us.
Hey all !! Love from the Kawartha Lakes region Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
I think that was the first time I’ve seen one crack on you like that. Beautiful little stone
Thank you Justin I’m sweating bullets 😅from this session ! That was a wonderful video❣️ Love seeing you Ruth once again!
Hello Justin and Ruth, and I'm sending you all at BOD greetings from me in Landskrona, Sweden! Mens category of opal jewelry sounds very interesting. Good luck in Lightning Ridge Ruth and BOD! 👋💎👍💍👏
Thank you. Susan
Wow, that was a nail-biter of a session!! So glad you got some beautiful stones out of it even with the difficulties that cropped up 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Missed You you keep me happy, thanks, John dean
I am going to the festival, so exciting. My first opal event.
Awesome hope to see you there
UK saying hello... I bought a Lightning Ridge "rough nobbie" off eBay from a dealer in California for £11.50.. (talk about a long trip). Looked full of potch with minimal colour (almost two lumps stuck together??)... Gave it a light rub and the colour bar ran right through it on dark/blackish backing, only 11.8 ct.. I've already been offered £245 gbp... All thanks to you Justin!! I wouldn't have even bought it if I hadn't been watching you for the last couple of years... Credit where it's due Justin and the gang!!!
It would really help us amature rubber's if you told us the grit of each wheel you use each time you swap... I rubbed that 11.8 ct on a 4000 wheel.. The only one I have. Colour is Dark blue/purple, green, yellow and pink? It's still in the rough and lightly rubbed, just on opposite sides to reveal the bar, about 2.5-3mm. Whole nobbie is about the size of a broad bean. Final rub is 8,2cts on darkish backing, I don't think it's black... I didn't accept the £245... Gone into my coin stack
When I see tiny gems inbetween your fingers it makes me think the other 800ct's might be worth looking at.... I thought it was welo crap...😂😂
I'm from Nagaland india loved you're show
High, I'm in the UK 🇬🇧 😊,
When you guys we're live I was sound asleep 😴 💤 😌.
But having a look 👀 now 09-32 am.
Due to time and mileage differences always playing catch-up.
But it's just as good a good number of hours later.
But there might be a few things we miss out on.
Love you guys keep doing what your doing.
Don't think I will ever get over there but, if I did I'd love to come see you.
True master cutter & polisher.
Cheers Les.
The Opal Gods were with you my friend!
I love your videos, and have wtched a very many of them. You bring so much beauty in the world, thank you for your kind and generous soul 🙂
Thanks so much 😊
Gosh this is so difficult! Clearly you need to be a master to know how to deal with complicated stones like this. There must be many an opal destroyed by people who don’t have your knowledge!
Amazed I called that difficult but beautiful stone correctly. I must be learning! Great to watch as always. Seeing the beauty that emerges is endlessly fascinating.
N. Texas checking in...someday I will make it over there. Especially, LR and opal festivals. :)
Funny stuff there about eyesight. I also found out the real reason you decided on Black Opal Direct. "BOD". Priceless.
I absolutely love watching you two together. You guys are AWESOME !
A perfect pair 😊
WOW, that was a great live ,I had a feeling about that pattern in that last stone.😁😁😁
Rough session, but you got some wonderful gems.
Central Italy enjoying your show
Hearty Greetings Ruth & Justin from sunny, gorgeous Georgian Bay (Lake Huron) Ontario! Always, repeat ALWAYS love watching your videos! Lovely to see you Ruth looking so pretty and well! :-) MQH
Nebraska.
I recently watched a video here on TH-cam of a recent LR Opal festival.
If I ever get the opportunity to go to Australia I will plan it for the 2nd half of July so I can attend. From what I saw it looked awesome.
They fought you every millimetre of the way. I really thought the black stones were no-hopers at first, but that broad flash pattern was worth waiting for. Pretty little crystals too. I hope you still get your money back and much more.
Spring Texas, sorry I missed the live pod,a hurricane blew through here, watching it now waiting for power to come on
Beautiful as always 😊
Great set, and looking forward to next weeks video!
32:37 I'm baffled why you went directly to cutting it in half instead of taking down the sand. I grimaced as I heard the cutting wheel slice.
lol
🤩🤩the pain of uncertany is real. Thanks . And much love from Portland Oregon. ( from the bogan side of north portland) 🤣

Hello from Nashville Tennessee
Opal is the most beautiful stone 💥💥💥💥
I hope you put out a video of the show. I'm so excited for you. Btw, I love your wife's glasses. I'd still like to know how you tell a fake opal from a real one in jewelry. I think the one I have,my mom bought it when I was in junior high. It has a high dome and is that gorgeous blue green color.
Hi from Pollock pines ,ca.
You reeeeeeally need to fix your audio levels when going live. It’s always extremely low. If it’s a pre-recorded video, the volume is fine. But the live videos are very low in audio. We have to raise the volume very high, then when a commercial comes on our ears get blasted out. Just watch this video and previous recent live videos, Justin, and you’ll hear it yourself (or not hear it because the audio is so low).🤷🏻♂️ Just some constructive food for thought.
ok
I did not find such a problem!
Yes
No problem!
No problem here
Thank you
Two right, Mate!!!😮
