I can't seem to explain why i enjoy watching you Justin, looked at other cutters but not the same...always feel better after watching you. Such beautiful gems!!
I've been watching your videos for several years now. I've got to say, of all the video formats you use, this is my favorite. Not only do we get a little bit cleaner audio and video than a live, but we also get to see the final product and price. Thanks so much for letting us see the details of what you do, when so many others refuse to show the skill of the cutter, or involve the subject of money.
I couldn't agree more!! This format is far better than any other. Particularly for those of us who live on the other side of the world!! The live shows tend to be at an ungodly hour over here in England 😊
I don't know if it is a good deal. It was a good deal for me to get off work and unwind watching you transform these rough (peas) into beautiful gems. Thank you for the content, mate.
At the end at 42:00 the two gems in middle pink one and that one below it to left dark blue green is the best in my eyes that I like in that parcel , they all amazing still but that pink one out of all is the the winner ..
Love you BOD, and Justin, thanks for the tutelage. As far as I can tell, opal should be cut for pleasure and that's why it seems just as rare as the stone itself to see someone make not just beautiful stones, but a smashing it living with the stuff. That's what passion does to an equation! Greetings from Mike and clan in Granby, Colorado!!
I really enjoyed this. I think the capped nobbies are amazing. You give me courage to explore the little white capped nobbies I’ve collected over many years!!! ThANK YOU
I love the long video! Thank you Justin! Seriously, I could watch you all day as the transformations in the knobbies are mesmerizing to me. I zone in and lose track of time, probably a good thing they end eventually or I'd get nothing done! 😂💜
Well done! IMO your touch is what really brings the opals to their full beauty and life. Not a huge profit, but well deserved. I'm torn between the hard work of the miner and your skilled work that you both should make good money for your efforts. Oz opals are truly the most precious in the world. No others really compare overall IMHO.
It is a good deal for professionals, over 25% back is nice 👍 curious to see what profit you would earn after setting them in a simple sterling or gold prong setting with chain..? Lovely opals per usual 💖🌈💎
That second stone, the lovely crystal, reminded me of the beautiful white sands and turquoise waters of the Whitsundays...the light there is so amazing there is a sense of rainbows everywhere.
What a job! Utilizing artistic talent and skills to create and reveal 1 of a kind, never the same results beautiful treasures from our earth. This was very cool to watch. Ty 💎
great you put the buy cost on the stones / parcel gives us an idea of the finished opal and the losses as well great stuff more of this would be great mate i think deal was good for the time put into cutting it
I feel like the last gem, at 39:07 has the perfect shape to make a marble out of. I've been thinking about how cool it would be to have a gem opal marble. Have you ever thought about making one?
Have you ever assembled a series of gems to form a collection for a jewelry set? If so could we see? I also think to squeeze extra value out of your incredible work, we as the public should have a hand, in naming your stones. As witty as I think I am, I’m sure some righteous names could be heard. Keep up the great content. 🔥❤️
Screw diamonds, I would love a tennis bracelet made with all these little beauties. Justin, as always, an absolute pleasure watching you turn this pile of pebbles into magical opals🤍❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤
Yours is the only gemstone show that I watch. Such beautiful opals. Wish I had access to one of those machines. I have a couple of specimens, that I would love to clean up a little. Just to make them nicer specimens.
Amazing doesn't quite cover your workmanship. I have cut opal before and watching you puts me right back in the same "zen zone". Amazing, Absolutely Amazing!
You have to love what you do because the cost to your poor bleeding fingers and then applying years worth of accumulated knowledge and the time spent cutting and polishing, I don't know that you could hire someone at your level for the "potential" profit on these opals because you would have to bank on selling them pretty quickly to pay the person. I hope that makes sense. I love opals and I love watching your very skillful demonstrations. Now what really amazes me is how you work with such small little nuggets of opal and create such a beatiful gem out of it. I also sort of hold my breath watching you because if you make one wrong move and maybe the stone slips or gets away from you, well there goes your profit. In my humble opinion you earn every penny you make.
Thanks for showing this video of small pieces. This is mostly the type of stones I have to work with. I bought them a long time ago so my investment is much less. This encouraged me to get to work on them.

Good deal or not depends on how long it took in total, and what your general other costs are I guess. I mean, how many parcels like that do you do every week? What is the rent/cost of the workshop? Chemicals? Employees? It looks like alot of profit in percent, but is it enough?
It is always a great deal watching you give birth to these amazing opal gems Justin. $1750 is a profit, and any profit is worth it. Thank you Black Opal Direct for another great video, until next week see you then Justin..

It's one reason why I binge watch this channel constantly, the other being Justin such a genuine and chilled out dude. Maybe one day after my kids are grown I'll be able to buy some opal.
It's wonderful watching you bring out the unique beauty in each stone. It makes me so sad to know that my father bought me beautiful opals from Hong Kong when I was little and a roommate later in life stole them. I wonder what they'd be worth now and I'm actively looking for a pendant. Hopefully, I'll be buying one from you soon. Thank you.
