I love corvettes but it’s no secret that a good tune and some bolt on wills transform the b58 into a killer machine!
Yeah the B58 is a great motor, the gearing is really what lets down the C7 though, not the engine. GM fucked up both the A8 and the M7 somehow, upper gears are way too long. You can hear how low the revs drop when the C7 hits 5th. The C7 with the 6th gen 10 speed would be an absolute monster

Its not the transmission its the differentials final drive ratio that makes the vette slower

When you take a car out of a factory state, it is now not factory, obviously, now it doesn't matter about what car is what, what matters is how deep your pockets are. You can make anything beat anything, so when I see stuff like this I'm not really seeing a Corvette versus a BM W, I'm seeing a person's pockets versus the next person's pockets.

the new 10 speeds and DCT in the corvettes should help with that
in other words 5th gear is garbage in the 8 speed
If he didn't tune the tranny it would have been worse. It's shame that the c7's, especially the z06, have such a bad 5th gear in those transmissions.

Vette not suppose to race Vette or Camaro. That’s like fighting your siblings. Own both C7 and now C8, C8 is unnoticeable quick. C7 is just quick. From a dig no wheel spin on the C8 pedal to the floor.
The corvette guy spent god knows how much on FBOs and a tune, to only put down an extra 25 hp and get wrecked by an in-line 6 beemer. Talk about pride being throw out

The midpipe on the c7 is the xpipe. Long tube headers are headers+xpipe that's why they're called long tubes. Putting midpipe and long tube is like putting midpipe twice.
long tube headers are long tube headers. a midpipe is a mid pipe. They aren’t one whole thing. Long tubes are called long tubes well because the tubes of the headers are long lol to keep it simple
