Yup seems abt right to me. I actually just sold my 21 model y lr 3 weeks ago. It was a beast from a dig but was not much for rolls. They all fall on their face after 95 ish. Mine was just my daily so I didn’t get it to race. Was fun for what it was though.

@@-matt nothing tbh. It was my daily and I just wanted out of the pmt. I made money off of it tbh. I still have my other 2 fun cars but my daily is a 2001 rx300 Lexus with 130k miles.
I think they will bring the plaid motors to the Y and 3 performance variants, like they did to the S and X.... if that happens those motors will have a lot more top end. I'm waiting a few years to see if they refresh the 3 as id love to own one if they were a 10 second car

Makes me love my 340, such a good car. I really cannot believe how awesome it is.
Even crazier is how friendly for the most part it is to work on compared to other BMWs. Coils are right on top and to get the back one, I can fit my hand in. Turbo is literally visible under the hood, I can physically get my hand on everything.

Wow I had no idea the performance was that slow 60-130. I guess its all about 0-60 times for them.
most electric cars are only good for up to 80 miles an hour, anything past is severely underpowered. I had a model y and a model 3, the trick to have full acceleration from 0-110 was to go 80 percent on the throttle from 0-48 and then go 100 percent at 50 and you get around a 9 second 0-110 in the y and a 10 second 0-110 in the 3
The Model S Plaid is no joke though. That thing pulls regardless of the speed.
@@jadenfar745 This doesn't make any sense to do. The M3P already does 0-110 in 9 seconds and MYP does it in 10 seconds. If you were to get your Model Y to do it in 9 seconds, you would have the quickest Model Y on Dragy and possibly anywhere. My M3 long range did 0-110 in roughly 11 seconds without the boost and mid 10s with the boost. I raced a couple Model Ys, one long range and one performance, and I trapped faster than them from the 660' and beat them both from a 40. They are just heavier. There is no way a model y is quicker than a model 3 being it is 400 pounds heavier and has the same motors.
No bad ….. they are not meant to roll race . I race my model 3 performance…… 3.0 (0-60) and 11.33 1/4 mile @ 117mph can’t beat that for the price

This isn’t a 1/4 mile, this is roll racing. You don’t stop on the highway to race someone on your way home.
Try taking the Tesla to a canyon, the bmw takes the win all day everyday. Better driving feedback, better chassis balance, and faster cornering speed.
This is all basically stock, the 340 has A LOT of tuning potential. With a few thousand they can easily add 200hp. How are you going to increase the hp of the Tesla?
The only thing the Tesla is better at is driving itself because no one else wants to.

A friend of mine has a Model Y (don't know if it's a Performance model or not) and he let me drive it. Not going to lie, I was very impressed with how well the car drove and how fast it felt just driving around town. Makes for a very good daily ride I think, just takes some getting use to especially with how they brake on deceleration.

Accelerator mod? 😂 that makes no difference when you plant your foot to the floor. That said, those e60/63 m5/m6’s have some incredible top end all things considered. The gearing is made for the autobahn

Unless that is what you’re talking about and it makes an actual difference, that’s pretty cool. You have a tune? I see the s65 making decent gains on e85 and I have yet to see an e85 tune for the s85 without more serious mods

Owning a Tesla is like the definition of 'not a carguy'. Carguys love good looking cars, and Teslas look like complete junk.
As the owner of a model y performance, there ain't much that's going to beat it from a dig up until around 60. Even cars that on paper can be quicker, have to launch perfectly in order to do it. I will say, the model Y and model 3 slow way down once you get past about 70 or 80 mph.
Is 60mph even a race.... thats when the race begins.

@@carsandbikez depends on who you ask. Obviously not for this channel. But 0 to 60 performance is a good measurement when it comes to practicality in daily driving. I can overtake pretty much anything when I want or need to. When it comes to actual racing on this channel though you need the model X or a Model S, as they don't die down in the top end.

The model Y is painfully slow. I know relatively it’s not too bad because I’m pretty sure it runs 11s. But I have been so spoiled coming from the model SPLAID. I think four $71,000 or whatever the model Y performance parts it should come with around 600 hp and it should not taper off so quickly.
I agree dude, I hope he’ll release a software update to squeeze more out of it. The Y performance gets to about 80K today.
It's only slow top end. It's probably the fastest crossover 0-60. It's great for dig racing but bad for rolls.

A model 3 performance would've been a bit faster as they run the 1/4 in 11.6 to the Y performance 12.1. But still though these teslas are daily driver monsters. They're not quite there yet to be considered full on destroyers. Aside from the plaid though.
