Lynette you are awesome woman I my self looked a Chanel names tiny notes from home and you Chanel was recommended to my I am so glade to find you you are wonderful and your family also greteengs from Sister in christ from Austria
I love your videos. Everytime I see them it continues to drift me to my younger days, I mean to the sixties and seventies. And yes at one point there were mennonites in Puerto Rico with their colonies.
Julia Burkley if it is what I suspected than the transition happened in the twinkling of an eye!!! Because the same thing happened to me. I have been born again or spiritually regenerated and I think the same thing happened to this gal!!!
Just wanted to let you, I tried the mint tea and I loved it. It made my whole house smell so good and it tasted even better. I've been growing mint for so long and it never occurred to make cold tea. Game changer!
My family was mennonite 4 generations ago in York County PA. Our PA Dutch recipes are still being passed down to the next generation. Meadow tea is one recipe that never turns out as good as my grandmother's. After seeing your recipe I see that I need to use more mint! Thank you!
Great recipes. Enjoyed your video. Here in Texas, we call it Queso instead of cheesy hamburger dip. I'll use ground beef, onion, season it with ground chili and cumin, instead of tomato soup, we use Rotel (diced tomatoes with chili's) and velveeta.
I grew up in a Mennonite church. I remember this tea or something very similar growing up. It was served at every get together. I absolutely hated it but everyone else loved it. I don’t think they ever sweetened it. Maybe that’s why. I’ll be 53 this year and can still remember the taste and hate any kind of tea.
I make salt free white crackers and add red pepper flakes, cayenne to taste and stir every fifteen minutes until the seasoned oil has all been absorbed. Store in an air tight container and enjoy!
I live about a half an hour from Nappanee! We are “English” but have lived among the Amish all of our lives 😊. I will have to check out Main Street Roasters. Really enjoying your videos Lynette! ❤️
I’ve loved your vlogs for a long time now. They’re never too long! Wonderful recipes all the time. Now, about Oaklyn ...she is just so so precious that I can hardly stand it!! She does look just like her daddy and her brothers of course. You’re in there too lol! Such gorgeous big eyes. God Bless y’all!🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
My family is Mennonite and we absolutely love the mint tea. We call it meadow tea. My dad tried for years to grow flowers right next to the tea plants it failed pretty miserably the tea took it all over
Love all the recipes! Mint tea is what we call the tea and it's my favorite kind. I like to sweeten mine with honey instead of sugar. It's really soothing for a sore throat and helps with seasonal allergies!
Hi Lyn! Happened upon your videos tonight. I'm from just outside Chicago, but I attended college in Wayne Co, OH, and your mention of Holmes Co & Troyer products brought back fond memories. Always felt the items I purchased from Amish and Mennonite businesses there were exceptionally crafted. Hope to visit the area again soon. :) Thanks for the trip down memory lane!! Best wishes.
Hello Lynette, my name is Manuela.I live close to Lucerne city in Switzerland. I go every Sunday morning to ICL Church. That is the international church of Lucerne. It is the only English speaking church we have here. Before Covi19 came up a lovely Mennonite Family from America visited our church. It was nice to get to know them. I enjoy watching your videos. You've got a lovely family and home. You are such a nice young woman. Best wishes Manuela
I really appreciate that you packed so many recipes into one video instead of trying to stretch each one of them into one that meets that 10 minute mark. The recipe I'm most excited to try is the seasoned pretzels. As soon as I can find some sugar at the store (it's been about 3 months now) I'm so making those!
I grew up with a German mother, and we always had peppermint and spearmint tea. I always have it at home. All 9 of my children love it as well. Thank you for sharing your home and recipes!
FIRST OF ALL, MISS OAKLAND IS ADORABLE!! OH MY!! I AM A SNACKER & THESE ARE GREAT RECIPES I CAN FORESEE USING THESE RECIPES FOR GATHERINGS AFTER THE QUARANTINE IS OVER!! THEY GIVE ME SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO!!!
I have some trail bologna and Dubliner cheese in the fridge. I don't care if it is 6:58 am. Your blog made me hungry and I'm going to get some! hahaha It is so great to see someone else talk about their much loved spearmint tea. I grew up on it and find it so refreshing to drink! I didn't really think of it as Menn. tea, but that was what we were, Menn. All of your children have wonderful smiles and it was good to see so much of Oaklyn's smiles today. Loved this food video. Keep en' coming. :)
Hi Lynette I am a new subscriber and have enjoyed watching your channel, your home styling is uplifting and your are inspiring mummy wife and caregiver Im a first nation person from rural Australia
I've been watching you for a long time, you were still in Ohio. When you were close to giving birth to your beautiful daughter something came up and I wasn't watching. I am so excited to be watching again. Love your recipes. You should write a cookbook. I started watching because I was interested in how the Mennonites lived and believed. You are Christians who belong to the Mennonite Church, it's as simple as that. I'm an older woman who really enjoys watching you and your lovely family. Be blessed and stay safe.
I grew up drinking fresh garden tea so i went to mom's and gathered a bag full and i can hardly wait to get some mixed up it smells divine😋i also fixed a container of cold brew so I'll be able to enjoy both on Sunday thanks for sharing
My grandparents live in Lancaster County, and I lived there for a few years too. I never realized some of what we make/eat are mennonite/amish influenced. It makes sense since Lancaster is basically amish country =]. I make the seasoned pretzels too except I use popcorn oil instead of vegetable oil, you should try it sometime and see what you think
I always love when you share recipes!! We live in Texas but I was born & raised in Ohio. A lot of your recipes are some variation of what we grew up on. Everything looks so yummy. Thanks for sharing. God bless and keep you all safe and sound. Brenda
Oh my gosh! I grew up eating all of those recipes, except the cheeseburger dip....I’m not Amish or Mennonite, however I grew up not far from “Amish Country” (a big Amish region) of our state. So, I just considered the recipes regional to my area! We used Peppermint and lemon in our tea. It reminds me of my childhood. I loved seeing them on YT! Oaklynn is getting sooo big! She's all smiles! Awww!
I make a similar party mix, but use apple cinnamon cheerios, honey graham cereal and mix peanut butter into the white chocolate. It is addictive! Sweet and salty! Thanks for sharing these recipes.
I've saved the recipes for later. Certainly will use some. Oaklynn was fascinated more on you and what you were doing than the camera lens. Shes learning. Stay well ~Blessings
Great. Video... i might try the cake bake...and the dip..I love cheese so would do the ball .... but I’m the only one in my house who could eat cheese and crackers ( with grapes) daily...wait ...I could just do that...🤣😂🤣😂🙋🏻♀️🇬🇧💕
I'm from Illinois but I live in Deland, Fl. now. Lot of Amish and Mennonites where I am from. In fact, there was a store and bakery just up the street from me. I was in love with their grapefruit gummy candy - so tart and sweet. Anyway we had Christmas on the square one year and someone sold me some cashew butter candy. It was the best tasting stuff I ever ate. Sorry to say I didn't share because I thought I could get more but I never did. The candy was like peanut brittle but not as hard and of course it had cashews. Mmm good. I've tried but have not been able to find a store or anywhere on line for either treat. I'm seventy two years old and you'd think I'd lose this sweet tooth but not gonna happen. LOL
Oh my gosh, I love these cooking videos, and I love your voice overs. It’s awesome keep it up. I will watch every video you put out and share it. I don’t think there’s anything that you have made. I do not want to make so I have quite a bit of ideas, but I love more thank you.
Your channel popped up in my suggested list. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. I've made the seasoned pretzels, many times! I usually bake them in the oven for 5 - 10 minutes at 250. They are an addictive snack! Cheeseballs are something I make for family get togethers. Right now my favorite one is a cheddar cheese with horseradish. Thanks for the other ideas!
Never heard it called Garden Tea... We've always called it Menno Tea... As far as the seasoned pretzels we always did the same thing but with oyster crackers... Another one of our favorite Amish/Mennonite recipes is Date Pudding aka Amish Pudding
Hi Lynnette im new to your ch.I love your recipes are you Amish have great recipes. The Amish are very swert and compassionate people I really admire them. They are very polite christian people.thanks for sharing.I wants to see lots of Amishbrecipes
I tried your bar recipe with Betty crocker butter pecan cake mix and substituted brown sugar for white sugar For the topping.Delicious Thanks.Your children are precious
I'm kind of vegetarian/pescatarian, I eat dairy, fish and sea food. I will eat meat in TV dinners, I don't like cooking it. Tonight I"m having chickpeas with broccoli florets, and sweet and sour sauce over rice, and corn on the cob. I
I lived in Morocco and you cannot separate Morocco and mint tea. I had a hard time when I came back making anything Moroccan because I wanted to stay longer than the five years I was there. You have inspired me though to go out and get some mint and make this because in Morocco it's hot or cold and very thirst-quenching.
I make this at times also. But to get that darkness of regular tea...I add 1 family size bag of regular tea...it has the takes of meadow tea, but the color of regular tea.
I will difiantely be trying these recipes. especially the tea and coffee drinks. My husband would LOVE the seasoned pretzels and Hamburger Cheese Dip. thank you for sharing,
We call the white chocolate bark stuff “White Trash” 😂. The tea is interesting since mint is an herb and not a tea leaf. In Georgia it’s common to add mint to sweet tea, especially in the summer, but it’s tea+sugar+mint.
I am also a dump cook somewhat. Using the cheese cloth around tea is awesome. We always strained after making the tea. Family background is PA. Dutch, my maiden name was Groff from Lancaster county. We now live near Charleston SC
Too long??? Loved your sharing so many great recipies. Even though I haven't tried these I will definitely make these because they contain things I already like so I know I will love these creations. I also loved seeing your beautiful daughter.
Oops 🙊 I think I might have said it’s deer bologna. My mom informed me that Trail bologna isn’t deer bologna! It’s just beef 😄 My bad!
glad you said that I was looking at the cow on pk going wrong animal .lol
I wondered about that!!
😂🤦🏻♀️

Your channel has been a peaceful respite from what's going on in the world. Thanks for what you've shared.
I have my great-aunt's Mennonite cookbooks from the 1950s. Such treasures. My mother's people were from Lancaster and Altoona.
I love your videos. Everytime I see them it continues to drift me to my younger days, I mean to the sixties and seventies. And yes at one point there were mennonites in Puerto Rico with their colonies.
HOOSIER NATIVE!!! And ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Amish and Mennonite communities there! Top notch and high quality on everything they make!
So am I. Southern Indiana. Went to vacation bible school every summer at the Mennonite church
At some point, if you’re willing, I’d be super interested to hear about your transition process from Amish to Mennonite for you all.
I would like to hear this also. Please Thank you
She already has a video on this, if I'm not mistaken.
Julia Burkley if it is what I suspected than the transition happened in the twinkling of an eye!!! Because the same thing happened to me. I have been born again or spiritually regenerated and I think the same thing happened to this gal!!!
I do have a video on that. Go to my Mennonite playlist and look for growing up amish
My gosh people are nosey!
❤All your recipes look so delicious 😊 And I enjoy watching you and your family they are so sweet and wholesome! To God be the glory.
Your kids are so lucky to have a mom that’s creative in the kitchen😀❤️
You should create a cookbook, I would totally buy!
My foster Amish mum called it "meadow tea" and it sure was a nice treat on a hot June while baling hay!
Yes. I’ve heard that as well!
I made my cheeseball with chopped ham, green onions, tabasco sause and Worcestershire sauce all mixed into just cream cheese. It was delicious.
Just wanted to let you, I tried the mint tea and I loved it. It made my whole house smell so good and it tasted even better. I've been growing mint for so long and it never occurred to make cold tea. Game changer!
LYNETTE!!!! LOVE THIS VLOG
KEEP THEM COMING. YOUR VLOGS COULD NEVER BE TO LONG, LOVE YOUR VLOGS.
Your videos are never too long! Love them!

I learned about the Meadow Tea/Mint tea when I moved to Lancaster County PA over 50 years ago. It is so refreshing on a hot summer day. 💙
Ok now I’m craving white chocolate party mix and garden tea!!
I use the seasonal M&Ms depending on the time of year. Weve done it for Halloween and Christmas. I can eat a giant bag myself haha.
I am from Nappanee and we like Main Street Coffee! Try the flavor "Jamaica Me Crazy" too. And I love cold brew for coffee drinks
Yes! I have that blend too!
Omg the roll up looks great it’s a sushi roll but sweet! The kids will love these all
Just watched this today, Nov 5/2023. Thank you for some great recipe ideas for this coming holiday season .
I grew up in a Mennonite church. I remember this tea or something very similar growing up. It was served at every get together. I absolutely hated it but everyone else loved it. When I was a small child, there was spearmint growing wild in our yard. I remember nibbling on the leaves. So good!
I make salt free white crackers and add red pepper flakes, cayenne to taste and stir every fifteen minutes until the seasoned oil has all been absorbed. Store in an air tight container and enjoy!
That yellow green dress lookt so beautiful on you loved the snacks and the little ones
miranda koppelaar I thot too her yellow dress looked cute on her.
I live about a half an hour from Nappanee! We are “English” but have lived among the Amish all of our lives 😊. I will have to check out Main Street Roasters. Really enjoying your videos Lynette! ❤️
Tammy P hey! I went to lunch there with a friend on Tuesday! Great food 😍 and the coffee was delicious

Pioneer woman on the food network, used sweet condensed milk in it the next day. I never tried it. It looked good.
Love all the recipes! Mint tea is what we call the tea and it's my favorite kind. I like to sweeten mine with honey instead of sugar. It's really soothing for a sore throat and helps with seasonal allergies!

Troyers Trail Bologna is the best! It’s one of ‘must have’ purchases when we go to Holmes County. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💝
We have it in our Mennonite grocery store in Jamesport,Mo.

Our neighbors made that yummy white chocolate pretzel/Cheerio/Chex mix concoction and it blew us away!! So so yummy!! These all look scrumptious!
I've saved the recipes for later. Certainly will use some. Oaklynn was fascinated more on you and what you were doing than the camera lens. Shes learning.

We do too! 😄 I just didn’t think it was the most appropriate to say in public. Not that I mean anything by it! 😄 but- you know!
Wow those recipes look so good and easy to make which makes it right up my alley.
Omg,, love when you put the baby in picture,
I love watching you cook. Sometime simple and comfort is what we need.
Very interesting, this is my first finding this channel. I will definitely check in with you again.
I am also a dump cook somewhat. Using the cheese cloth around tea is awesome. We always strained after making the tea. Family background is PA. Dutch, my maiden name was Groff from Lancaster county. We now live near Charleston SC
Yummy! Everything looks so good. When I was little my mom would melt almond bark and mix in lucky charms cereal at Christmas time for a snack.
I am so hungry for everything you made in this video!! Yummy!
So glad found u ! Your kids are beautiful ☺️
Your shirt just excited me, I grew up in Ohio but now live near Nappanee and their coffee is delicious!
LOVE the cheesecloth idea. I make lemon balm tea and have stopped making cold brew, but may have to make it again. Thanks.
That cheese ball looked so good!! I’ve made pretzels similar to what you made but without the sugar and I put them in the oven. They are so good!
Thank you for sharing your vlog from Michelle in Australia
Too long??? Loved your sharing so many great recipies. Even though I haven't tried these I will definitely make these because they contain things I already like so I know I will love these creations. I also loved seeing your beautiful daughter.
Lots of fun eats! Thanks 😉👍
These are my favorite videos of yours!!
Love these recipes! Thank you so much for posting!
I'm a former Menno and love Garden/Mint Tea.
Do you make Amish Peanut Butter? My aunt gave me a recipe and my cousins make it a lot, but I just can't make that much of it...
