This fellow has lost 5" from both his waist and his hips. I'm going to alter it to fit 'the new him' - but I'm also going to give it an 'upgrade' while I'm about it!
Hi Robert, I love the work! Would you be keen to do a step by step guide from measuring material, through to sewing (with close ups), through to finishing the kilt with the buckles, and top waist band? I know some of your videos have this, but as a visual learner, a lot of it seems to be glossed over, and going by barb tewkesbury's book, is difficult to follow along :(
good question! I measured the client as though I was going to make him a new kilt, and the length between his natural waist and the hip is 8". I'll be locating the bottom of the fell 8" down from the new upper edge- which means that I'll be re-sewing each pleat. I'll show this work in the next video.

Thank you for your kind opinion!
yes, I intend to do a step-by-step guide "one if these days" - but also 'sooner', rather than 'later'!
Are you moving the fell line down or leaving it where it is?
good question!
