Well, another thing to consider is the fact that it would be a bare bone. Tense muscle tissue, fat and skin is likely going to stop the blade before it gets that far, not to mention fabric - particularly wool.
I recon it could probably go through a lower leg bone (I forget the medical term) if it was completely exposed the same way a bullet might go through a brick wall - But with appropriate resistance beforehand it's not going to stand a chance - Especially not when the blade is serrated.

Cane is much weaker than bone(weaker than wood too) though, and there would be the meat and clothes before that. However these could still deal some damage and were not used for killing power. Though Skall definitely needs practice as reportedly trained warriors can throw these over 200 feet and to cut fingers.

Depends on the armor the target is wearing.
In general, I don't think this would be that effective of a throwing weapon compared to more popular ones like throwing spears. It's lighter so easier to carry more of, but military throwing weapons rely on mass to generate enough force to pierce armor and do damage so i would take a unit of javelins over this any day.
Also, tearing into an arm is a far cry from the ridiculous original claim made in the video that it cuts limbs clean off.

      @Truth-jz7bt 6 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      Kai Kwon Fu -
The ancient Indian epic called the Mahabharata has been accurrately dated with astronomical data to be around 3100 BC. The Mahabharata is full of descriptions of wrestling, warriors, martial skills, warfare, weapons, military tactics, etc. The Shastra Vidhya texts are either from that period and before or were a descendant of the martial arts knowledge from that period and before. The fact that the numerous types of fighting styles contained within the Shastra Vidhya texts are named after Indian Gods and their creature mounts gives an indication that they are quite ancient. More modern Indian texts do not take so much inspiration from Gods and animals.

I have recently travelled to Punjab and visited some of the holy men of the Sikh faith. Discussed their belief system and learnt a bit about history.
It was heartening to see how spiritually inclined the Gurus were. In my personal opinion I see it as a reformist, revivalist, simplifying movement in the then decadent Indian socio-politico-religious scenario.
I was glad to see the similarities between Sikhism, Islam, Sanathan beliefs and the original message of Christ and other major religions- Monotheism! - one true creator, no images, no statues, no worshiping of any thing created.. purely the formless almighty is to be worshipped.
Forbidding and suppressing evil tyranny and oppression... while enjoining good.
The differences can be discussed but that's another topic.
Now.... as a practicing Muslim - although I am not and neither were my ancestors responsible for the bloody oppression that the wazirs and generals of the Mughal empire unleashed on the non-Muslim population of that time... and all this in the name of getting people into Islam!!!... I would like to identify that oppression as oppression and apologize to the Sikh community.
The Sikh brothers and sisters are so close to the Islamic creed that the Muslims who are not in the know will be surprised!!!!!
I have a question to the Mughal might- you knew it or you didn't know it.. however, were you inviting the Sikhs to Islam or were you turning them away!!!!!?
Thank God for the Nawab of Malerkotla and some good souls who identified oppression and spoke the truth. Some saving grace.
Muslims have a lot of work to do in tearing down these fences, stop being arrogant and intolerant and start living by the virtues of the Quran and the original morals of prophet Muhammad (May God's peace be upon him).
I hope people from the subcontinent are reading this.
-Peace and love my brothers in humanity.

sure, but the velocity of the device and the rotation of it. with how thin it is. they are razor sharp. have a constant curve. it might not go clean through everyone, but men were skinnier in india too. a body builder, it'd still cause enough damage to lose a majority of use of your arm or leg. thats why it was so viable. not the greatest weapon, as many of it's techniques teach you to throw it. its like a knife fight, and you throw your knife, only to be a guy now without his weapon. so they carried 10 of these rings. anyone with a shield and sword would have a decent advantage, especially a spear. but someone with these vs someone with a knife? these offer much more consistency for range and effectiveness, while throwing a knife takes great skill. no one is saying these are the greatest weapon, but obviously they have their place. its basically the comparative of a knife in combat. but as i've read, they teach more to use these in defense rather than offense, to let the opponent hurt themselves. which studying the nature of it, makes more sense. its a mid range, to defense style weapon. as using it to attack at close range could cause injury to yourself, but having 10 of these on your arms and blocking a punch, or one in your hand to roll around, would keep an aggressor at bay. neutralizing two offenses and ending a fight.
