Why are there no wide shots of you using the device? It's only ever partly on screen. The last shot with knife blade and piece of wood was far more energy than those capacitors could provide, and for far too long. Those caps would drain almost instantly with how little resistance is in the design.
I like it. I think I'll copy your design. I would add a momentary switch on the positive rod and include a high wattage resistor to discharge the device for storage. Thanks for posting!
Capacitors like that aren't designed to be shorted out and are likely to be damaged by being used in that way. You'd be better off using capacitors designed for camera flash units as they are designed for near instant discharge.
@@plutonianfairythey are just normal 50v polarized capacitors and don't sweat discharging these this way. He's thinking of tantalum capacitors not regular aluminum film electrolyte caps like these. All the stores energy is going into the arc and work. Your only real worry is over voltage and go watch an electroboom video to see what happens.
Good video, a curious data: those are not Super Capacitors (which are rated in Farads not microFarads) the ones you're using are normal electrolitic capacitors, your setup has only 37,600 microFarads which equals 0.037F, hardly a super capacitor

Agreed.
He is probably using >60 Ah 12v car battery and those capacitors are only for show off.

how eould you do it with the wattage resistor?
@@VitMcG I'd short the terminals.
It's not wattage. It's called POWER.
Well done 🎉

Just throw em in the trash. When youre ready, just start building.

Good 👍

You should zoom out your video to include your battery set up in your diy.
you just need to read the description for more information. There is no battery in this setup: "And I charge them with a 12-24 volt power supply."
@@florianj6490 24V/50A power supply ))))
Y lo mejor que no necesita energia 😂😂😂😂😂
You could buy a very good battery with the money you spent on capacitors, you wouldn't have to deal with it that much.
Nice vid, i wanna make an induction melting machine
You can get a cool breakout board for only 20 dollars which is 120w
you are a genius , you are very good , the welder is good and cheap
i try this circuit with the same value but i don't get the same result, what kind of transformer you are using?
Probably a microwave transformer with the secondary drilled out and replaced with about one turn of ultra thick wire.
So capacitors are just bullshit. A transformer of 150 amperes is enough to do the trick.
No current limiter ??
Why i'm subscribe you youtube?
