Gerber baby food jars are not heat safe. As soon as the glass heats up, it will explode, then you've got a flame and spilled fuel which doesn't make for a good time. Nobody should be using this for cooking, heat, or anything for that matter. You should have used a Mason or Ball or Atlas or Bernardin jar, because those are pyrex, or are otherwise heat treated. Not only that, but they have a wider lid, and the heat won't reach the glass as easily.
Thank you for your comment! Let me clarify why your concerns about the burner’s design might stem from a misunderstanding of how it works. If you’ve studied physics, you’d know that glass doesn’t crack if it’s heated and cooled gradually. This is because slow temperature changes prevent significant internal stress from building up in the glass. The stress formula is: sigma = (E * alpha * delta_T) / (1 - nu) where: E is the modulus of elasticity, alpha is the coefficient of thermal expansion, delta_T is the temperature difference, and nu is Poisson’s ratio. When delta_T is minimal, the stress remains low, preventing glass breakage. It’s also important to note that the inner surface of the metal lid from baby food jars is fully coated with food-grade plastisol. This coating acts as a membrane between the metal and the glass, insulating the lid from direct contact with the glass and reducing heat transfer, providing an additional layer of thermal protection. Now, imagine if a metal tube were to become excessively hot and transfer heat through the metal lid to a metal container. The liquid inside the container would begin to boil, and the excess gas pressure might not escape in time. In the best-case scenario, the burner flame would keep extinguishing. In the worst case, uncontrolled pressure buildup could lead to serious consequences. The design of the glass jar eliminates these risks. Slow heating and the coated lid create safe operating conditions, while the burner itself uses a low-temperature alcohol evaporation principle, minimizing the impact on the glass. Metal containers, on the other hand, heat up much faster, causing sudden temperature fluctuations that compromise stability. Your concerns are understandable, but the design has been thoroughly tested to ensure safe operation. Thank you for your attention!
Thank you for your opinion, but I’d like to clarify that a spirit burner made from copper tubing in a spiral is a standard and safe component used in scientific and household devices, such as soldering burners and portable alcohol stoves. Copper is an excellent heat conductor and resistant to corrosion, making it an ideal material for such constructions. When used correctly, including following safety precautions like using a proper container and securing the burner, these devices are safe. Furthermore, similar devices are sold in stores and certified for household and scientific use.

What liquid did you use?
Доброго времени суток.что используете в качестве горючего? И вообще что можно использовать?
I have idea, can you replace this hole with some head for gas welding? And then can you adjust air intake level.
Great idea! If you're interested, I could try making a video about another fascinating design, featuring an adjustable nozzle as you mentioned.
@R.U.H. If you have time 😁 but it is cool anyway, for emergency better than normal candle 😃

I'm worse my handcannon & cardboard solo smokeless stoves tho...
