Soil erosion is the displacement of the top fertile layer of the soil. This natural process is caused by the dynamic activity of erosive agents that is , water, ice (glaciers) snow, air(wind), plants, animals and humans.
It can be a slow process.
Accelerated erosion is largely the consequence of human activity. The primary causes are tillage, grazing, and cutting of timber.
Natural causes. Forest fires, cloudbursts, heavy rains.
The loss of topsoil to wind, rain, and other forces is a natural process, but when intensified by human activity, it can have negative environmental, societal, and economic impacts. #soilerosion #soil #soilsinindia
