Especially, because, judging by the reaction, that wasn't seen as out of place, the focus was only on the specific routines, which were presented as somehow significant, when hey're not. They are, politically, entirely irrelevant. Is politics in the USA really merely a game of superficial habits and life style choices? At least in the view of the US population at large? Kind of? I would say that it's fair to say half of us think like this. Most of those that would support Marco Rubio do, and some that don't do. Actual political discussion in this country is dead and we just shout at each other now.
Marco Rubio is pointing to the fact that the "elites" in this country (those that live if big cities and have a lot of money) are not affected by soaring inflation prices and don't seem to care as long as they can have their "caramel machiato" and their routine isn't affected. Then, Steven Colbert and all the elite liberals make fun of Rubio, which, truly, is mocking and making fun of regular, American citizens who are trying to pay for food, gas, and energy to heat their homes. He ticks the check boxes for why his audience should hate the scapegoat while simultaneously persuading them to overlook his own issues that squarely make him as bad as said scapegoat. Honestly, as a european watching this, the part when Marco Rubio was characterising liberals, by routines they do during their day, instead of their believes, values and their policy, was striking. If so, then the country is politically dead.
They are mocking hard- working Americans (half of the US) that are having a hard time paying their bills.
Truly, these elite's laughing and mocking of these citizens is quite sad and tone deaf.
@@kathyevans110 Sorry, your propaganda isn't going to fly here.
@@kathyevans110 But, in what way is that poor/rich devide a democrat/republican devide? You have democratic billionaires, as well as republican ones, hell, Trump is supposed to be a billionire himelf and most "news" anchors at fox news are, if not billionaires, at least millionaires. So, still none of that makes any sense, it seems entirely pointless and if this was truly about wealth inequality, why not just talk about that and cut out all of that avocado and latte macchiato bs?
@@kathyevans110 Please consider diversifying your information sources, and set aside the emotional charge these narratives are designed to elicit long enough to question what they're saying, your assumptions, and their motives. You're smart, and have it in you to seek more neutral, provable data rather than these crude stereotypes being fed to you. When you finish processing the subsequent cognitive dissonance, please come back to the world of facts.
I, for one, will welcome you gladly.✨
It's about time they got to the sedition charges. Let's keep working up the chain until we get all these criminals.
Civilian courts are limited to punishing them with 20 years. As ex-military, the Oath Keepers are subject to the death penalty with a court-martial conviction for sedition.
I forgot about that. Is it noose, gas, electrocution or firing squad ? I don't really care, I just want it filmed and broadcast for the world to watch.
But they are civilians and we are not at war. Yet I wouldn't lose any sleep if they were charge as traitors, because they are
God bless the U.S.A
And punish her enemies.
😳🤯😏😏😏
EXCELLENT NEWS ! APPROPRIATE AFTER ALL THE MONTHS OF TRAITOR RHETORIC BY TRUMP AND HIS CULT CALLING DEMOCRATS TRAITORS BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT SUPPORT A FASCIST CON MAN DICTATOR TRYING TO DESTROY AMERICAN DEMOCRACY ! REMEMBER, HOW THEY WENT IN SEARCH OF MIKE PENCE TO HANG HIM AS A TRAITOR BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT UNLAWFULLY AND IMMORALLY TAKE THE ELECTION FROM BIDEN AND GIVE IT TO TRUMP !
@@liviadix1433 once you join the military, Uncle Sam may keep you there longer than you have planned - or that you can be recalled to active duty once you get out or retire. From what I'm reading, these guys could be recalled and tried in the military court. I don't see that happening, but its an option.
If this guy rolls on someone, anyone in the actual government, I will start to get excited. It would be so great to get a little domino effect going here.
im betting thats why they waited to roll out the more serious charges, lull the more influential people into a false sense of security watching everyone get slaps on the wrist, then when its their turn they freak at a real charge suddenly hitting them in the face and watch their stoic self propagated hero crap suddenly turn victim as they drop names, emails, and numbers of the people who commanded them directly. I mean the guy said as much already "we were *hired* as *security* for Stone"
Dont mean nothing if YOU dont VOTE!! VOTE BLUE for democracy!!
Get ready to break out the long chairs and Jack Daniels. Get ready to buckle up buttercups and enjoy the ride.😉😁✌️
@Mainely no one to pardon them now and this is a different time. IQ45 is buried under lawsuits and has no hope for 2024. Nope, these seditious conspiracists are getting their “Billie Eilish” in prison.
@Mainely - People like Tucker and Hannity have used Trump like a crash test dummy. I'd argue they learned more form the coup failing than if it had succeed. it won't fail next time. We are FAR from out of the woods.
Now, go get the big fishes.
I don't believe in the death penalty in general, but this group of Oathkeepers deserve it as much as anyone. They tried - and continue to try - to overthrow 250 years of Americans fighting for democracy. They are pissing on the graves of my father, who fought the Nazis all the way to Berlin, and my grandfather, who fought in WWI.
Once fully charged, they don't need the death penalty, they'll be barred from voting, and barred from owning any type of weapons. This would be the much worse outcome for these type of people.
Another thing the US has in common with some 3rd world countries, and dictatorships. The death penalty.
If there was ever a time to put Guantanamo to use.
The death penalty is the easy way out. Release them into the gen pop; let nature take its course.
Live stream the executions
Examples must be made
Didn't the "Former Seditionist In Chief" say that it should be a "death" penalty? Why the double standard? Please explain that, Former Mr. Russet-Potato-Head-In-Chief!"
He will only call for the death penalty if the person is non white. If the person is white then it’s too harsh.
These are just sacrificial lambs. There are at least 50 co-conspirators with Trump in the government and military-National Guard who still need to face justice - like life sentences.
Then again, he was backed by turtle hybrid who told everyone new SCOTUS cannot be elected close to presidential election, and there goes Justice Ruth
Stephen, you are great. I love the way you make your point through humor is very effective. You deserve the medal of freedom award!
It’s bringing to look a lot like justice 🎼
He should get even more time for protecting Roger Stone.
Who, incidentally, looks like a modern-day evil Penguin.
Those Oath Keepers are the scapegoats for the higher-ups who are currently trying to escape accountability.
Glad to see the "Oathkeepers" have to take an actual oath of honesty, or face the wrath of the judge. 👍 As for the rest, thanks for the giggles - I sure needed them!
Absolutely brilliant writers! Keeping us sane
The devil’s 🌈😈 Gestapo
Rhodes and Meggs were convicted! This story does have a happy ending!
One of my favorite things about Stephen Colbert is that he doesn’t pander to the idea of royalty.
@Y Yes he only panders to the faceless conglomerate of the military industrial complex murderers and tyrants.
Um... you are thinking very short sighted.
SHE is allowing Prince Andrew to be prosecuted.
I don't think anyone would of noticed if that story just died, do you?
SHE could have done that.
SHE did not.
SHE did the JUST thing.
SHE was acting ROYAL.
For a QUEEN to allow that?
SHE is from THAT age,, 95 years old.
I know you don't get it.
I AGREE all great NATIONS MAKE MISTAKES.
Like....uhh American for 4 YEARS? Or J6?
Get over it.
SHE did the right thing to offer America some healing, to have a royal in jail.
Do YOU have any empathy for HISTORY.
Her and her Mother have held that seat for 188 YEARS.
Can you Comprehend that?
IN ONE WOMAN.
Don't disrespect MY QUEEN,
sincerely,
Canada
He panders to the Catholic pedophile org
Stephen is a comedic genius
@@thethree60five SHE has no say in the matter. SHE would’ve desperately tried anything to bury it.
SHE is the head of state of a diminishing rathole of a country who’s influence is waning.
SHE can watch on as her sexpest son gets sued.
SHE is the remnant of a disgusting system of inherited hegemony.
SHE can go to hell.
The Supreme Court has rarely reflects the Issues that torture the private American citizen. Ex: Voting Rights.
Rhodes, the genius leader, shot himself in the eye, got disbarred, and is now up for about 20 years in prison. This, folks, is the kind of man that should invite followers!
A great day for America. Love your channel Stephen. Much love from New Zealand xx
'He did what?' That description of the British monarch was on point!
Wonder if they got frequent guest points while staying at the Comfort Inn with their weapons. Makes it all worthwhile. Those points can really stack up.
The ladder of sedition reaches a lofty height... and Merrick Garland is going to be stepping on every rung.
About time. The more we learn the more alarming this gets.
Not celebrating till they're all in prison
God knows how we'd have got through the lockdowns without Colbert. Thank you 100% Sir for keeping me sane
"Booze is Booze on this show " yup can confirm that these are words to live by.
OMG...please please give who ever wrote that description of the English royal family a raise! That seriously might be the best thing ever said on this show!
If there was any coordination with oath keepers by Stone, Republican reps etc , that makes them conspirators too?
Yes! “An historic day,” for our democracy. And I, Sir, appreciate you and your use of the word: an.
Why? It's an outdated hypercorrection from when English was trying to be French. An h is not silent
Lmao little marco really fell flat on his sad face with that little zinger. Talk about misreading the room 😂
I'm Irish and I love this show! Stephen is an amazing host.
We need to arrest every person in Congress who denied it even happened
Unfortunately, that would be denying free speech. We'll have to vote them out.
Free Speech. Constitution. Habeas Corpus. Due Process. Rule of Law. Words..
20 years should be the minimum
They should charge, fine & imprison everyone that had even a small part in the planning. Especially the one that would have benefited the most.
