    My absolute favorite trick for tuna mayo is instead of adding Karashi- I like to add some wasabi paste to my mixture. For me, the refreshing zingy taste of the wasabi balances out the heavy mayo and briny flavor of the tuna. If you never tried it before, you might like it!

    I keep my rices in jars with tight lids. I really want to try the bonito and the shrimp ones. Seaweed is great! I tried it for the first time a few years ago, and was really sad I had not tried it years ago! So good!

    I will definitely try salting my hands when making my next batch of onigiri. Tuna mayo and Tenmusu are my favorite types of onigiri. I’ve also made a very simple onigiri by mixing furikake into a rice ball.

    Hi Sayaka san, i love your videos! My husband and i frequently go to japan on holiday so i have been trying a lot of your recipes to make for him! Is your tuna mayo onigiri recipe similar to the onigiri called sea chicken at family mart? I love them so much but i obviously cant buy them here in Australia! Thank you again for the amazing videos ❤

    I like adding horseradish to my tuna mayo since I can't get real wasabi here. My favorite onigiri that I've tried is salmon roe. Too bad the good stuff is a 20 hour plane ride away!

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel

      Salmon roe! That is my favorite one too! It's luxury onigiri 😁

    My favourite onigiri is umeboshi! It's good and salty. I didn't know okaka meant bonito flakes. When I saw it I thought it was "okara." I think that you can use 'o' honorifics for obento too, right?

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel

      Exactly! You can use 'o' honorifics for obento too!
      Oh Your favorite onigiri is umeboshi! It's very traditional and simple is the best! I like it too 😆

    is otaku polite for mattaku? ^^

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel

      😁😁 There is a word "宅 (taku)", and it seems to have been made into a polite word by adding "o" to "宅 (taku)".
      "Otaku" can mean "house," but it can also mean "you".
      As for the etymology of "otaku (ヲタク)", it is said that this is because in the early 1980s in Akihabara and at events, anime and manga enthusiasts used "otaku" (as "you") a lot toward their counterparts.

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel

    • @samdewhurst-phillips

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel
