  • Installing remaining accessory drives to the M119 such as A/C compressor, secondary air injection pump, and alternator. Also installing belt pulleys. The old belt tensioner did not have the tension indicator on it and the new one did not come with it. I will include that installation in another video.

    I had a 95 SL500 and changed the oil filter housing gasket put it back together and instead of leaking it just dumped oil out of the top bolt hole, I dont know what I did wrong, the surface was flat and clean, and the bolts were torqued and it stilled poured oil out. Great Video btw.

      A few things could cause the leak. If the gasket was somehow damaged, it would leak. If the wrong bolt was used, such as a bolt that was slightly too long, that would cause a leak. If there were build-up or debris inside the bolt hole, that would cause a leak also. If the sealing surface on the oil filter housing were damaged somehow also. Unfortunately the only way to find out is to pull it back off and recheck everything.

    Thanks for another great video!
    Once you have the project completed, if you are willing, I would love to know the approximate parts cost and amount of time invested. I'm sure many others would like to know about this as well.
    Many thanks for bringing us along for this process!

      Thank you! I will absolutely have to do a breakdown video of cost and time.

    Im actually doing the same thing to my engine right now i put it out whith the transmission,im changing all the gasket and seals especially the head gasket cause i have a leak . My front transmission seal is leaking and im kind of scared to change it .im hoping you gonna work on yours so i could have an idea. Thanks so much for the videos

    • @FriendlyMBTech

      I didn't plan on changing the front transmission seal. I don't think it is leaking. I will check it out to see if it does need replacing. I'm not too keen on transmission work. I'll have to take a look and see what's replaceable on the outside of it. I don't have and idea how the transmission even shifts because I bought the car not running.

    Thank you for such a detailed video. At 8:30, where did you source that AC line (119-230-11-56-05)? I have a e420 and mine is broken, I cannot source it anywhere.

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is the original AC line that came on the car. I just wiped some grime off it and reinstalled it. I just checked with my parts department and that part number is final stock only and everywhere shows all zeros. Maybe a hose maker might be able to custom make one or possibly a Pick-A-Part.

      @@FriendlyMBTech Thanks man, that's what the dealerships here in Canada are saying too :(. Once its off, let me try getting one custom made. I called the center of excellence too and they don't have any either.

      @@leejerome9738 around us we have places like Hose Man that do nothing but make custom hoses. Once years ago I was working on a refrigerated Sprinter that one of the AC lines was routed millimeters from the crankshaft pulley. As you can imagine it eventually made contact. Since Mercedes never made a factory refrigerated Sprinter, we had to have one of the local hose companies make a new AC hose for it. Hopefully you have a place like that close to you.

    Is it possible that my r129 1994 doesn't have a front crankshaft sensor?

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      For 1994, I'm unsure. I would assume it should. They updated the ignition system on the M119 towards the last half of its life. I know they switched to coil on plug, but I don't know what other differences there are.

    Question 92 500 SL M119 motor air pump is making this god awful noise sounds like a giant sucking sound on some start ups not every time it starts? why would it be doing that... pump going bad? In my state where I live no emissions testing so I was thinking of just unplugging?

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      It does sound like it might be on it's way out. It could be worn internally or the clutch could be going out. You could unplug it if you want but that might set a check engine light. It's only used on cold start ups anyway. I'm in CA so I'd have to fix it 🤦‍♂️.
